First of, I don't hate marvel. You only dislike trash(marvel)
Second, RDJ wouldn't make a great joker;
1- He doesn't have that feel of mystery a joker should have like Phoenix.
2- He would most likely be seen as iron man with a clown face. Take Hugh Jackman for example.
But is RDJ a good actor? Yes.
