Nairaland General8 Ways To Work Smart And Get Noticed In A Toxic Work-environment by Truth2030(op): 6:43pm On Nov 22, 2019
We live in a society where everyone is having a great deal to do with their self. Not to talk of the overwork and stressed at the busy office-life for someone to get noticed in a toxic office environment.

There are so many people who do not like the job they are doing while some loves them but they found themselves in a very toxic environment which is very difficult for such people to progress or excel.

The toxicity of the environment have made many to have low self-esteem and believe they are not capable of doing what they have been doing before.

Close to 20% of workers say their offices are downright toxic, according to a new survey from Paychex, and it's hurting them.

1. Stop the normal office-work routine
One of the best ways to get noticed is to leave the normal office or company’s working routine. Try as much as possible to work until you’re noticed.

However, do not over worked yourself because you want to get noticed. You might just end up weighing down. But, try to suggest to your superior on how to get their work done or as fast.

This means you must have known some far-reaching things that people in your office might not know.

Because you truly know it, when there is bad situation at the office, it will be you that all will run up, this will give you an edge over others.

2. Let your work be beneficial

When filing your report at the office, make sure it will actually work or do good and provide benefits. While doing this, try as much as possible to make your work seen by not only your immediate boss but their boss so as to not allow you and your work be relegated by your toxic boss and environment.

The most important thing is to be very good at your job and to be good, you must be dedicated to do the job in order not to lose tract.

3. Use your current work place to earn contacts

Oftentimes, people just go to their place of work with the mindset of “just to go and come back” because they had already zeroed their mind and become unhappy.

You should be different because your aim is to get more money and be promoted in the organization or perhaps get an offer from another organization. You must be smart to use your work place to gain lots of contacts maybe whenever you’re about to set your own.

Please be reminded that no one has ever said you shouldn’t do the work with dedication, but, your eyes and mind should always be at the next step of activities you want to pull at the company or organization (a plan to move up or secure more noticing to move out).

Never settle to only your job description, that’s for others. Always try to study the company or organization so as to excel.

4. Volunteer but volunteer carefully

Make sure you try to volunteer whenever the opportunity arises. This will help in giving you an edge in your company or organization.

Some bosses will see you as responsible person who is willing and ready to work.

However, do not say yes to all the work, thinking you might get noticed, promoted or praised. This is a technical dealing that needs smartness or else you will overworked and abused by your boss who know how to use people.

Smart people will think quickly before raising their hands asking and answering two to three questions in their mind; how will...

CrimeBitter Experience: How I Was Duped Twice In Computer Village by Truth2030(op): 4:00pm On Nov 16, 2019
So many Nigerians across the country have painfully been duped; they have experienced some form of loss of money to fraudsters and thus have bitterly criticized the fraudulent business activities in the market.

There is a massive illegal street hawking of phones and computer accessories by unregistered traders and retailers who hawk on the streets of the market without any definite shop; some of them just have bogus display units rather than a proper store.

Some people who had never been to Lagos, must have heard about the market called Computer Village, which is said to be rich of computer accessories, both new and fairly-used phones, and has numerous men with computer and phone-repair wizardry. I was duped twice before i could be wise in the 'Village'.

I woke up feeling delighted that i'm going to be among some of my friends that will own an iPhone 8 Plus. The joy is all written all over my face but i returned home with sad story.

Getting to computer village, mind you, i had an iPhone 6 Plus with me. So, I saw this guy with the same phone i had planned to buy.

I could still remember the shirt he put on—a yellow shirt with a white strip on it on a black dirty jean which was tore in the front.

As he saw me, he used his hand to call me, "chairman, howfar? take this, it’s for you." Because i like it, i accepted. I went through all the functions and concluded in my mind that everything was working perfectly.

First, i asked him how much the price is and he said the price is not much that since i love it he just want to give me as he like me at first.

He then...

PoliticsDefiant Sowore Speaks From DSS Detention, Assures Supporters Of Safety by Truth2030(op): 7:23am On Aug 06, 2019
Human rights crusader and convener of RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore, has spoken for the first time since his arrest in a Lagos hotel by operatives of the Department of State Services on Saturday morning.

The activist, who urged Nigerians to pour out to the streets to protest against bad governance in the country, was picked up and detained so as to scuttle the planned March in 21 states of the federation.

But further angered by the arrest of their leader, members of the movement mobilised aggrieved individuals and took to the streets of major cities despite heavy security presence aimed at stopping them.

During a visit by members of the Take It Back Movement to the DSS facility he is being held, Sowore, who had refused to eat meals given to him all along by the secret police, thanked Nigerians and the international community for their support, assuring everyone that he was in good health and has so far been treated fairly in detention.

He said, "I would like to assure everyone that I am being treated well and in very good health.

"I am pleased that the peaceful #RevolutionNow protests went ahead.

"However, knowledge of the sheer number of innocent Nigerians being arrested for exercising their civil rights bothers me.

"I join others in demanding for the immediate and unconditional release of all those arrested by the police on Monday."

Confirming that Sowore was in high spirits and happy that the planned protest went ahead despite his detention in DSS cell, Rachel Onamusi-Kpiasi, Director, Media and Communication of the movement, gave a detailed account of the meeting in a statement on Monday evening.

The statement said, "At 6pm today, 5th August, 2019, members of the Take it Back Movement were allowed to visit with our convener, Omoyele Sowore, for the first time since his armed abduction in the early hours last Saturday, August 3.

"We met him in high spirits, unmoved by the events of the last few days.

"The officers allowed us to present him with food as Sowore had refused all meals since his capture.

"We are also happy to confirm that Take it Back members will be allowed to bring him food daily as per his wishes.

"The freedom fighter was quick to ask about the movement and supporters as he is aware that there will be a lot of worry about his wellbeing.

"Indeed, the silver lining in today’s unrest lies in the knowledge that truly, you cannot stop an idea whose time has come.

"The Take it Back Movement will continue to agitate for his release as well as that of comrades whose voices this oppressive regime has tried to silence.

"This visit was a small win; but we will not rest until we are free and free indeed."

The All Progressive Congress, APC, has given the condition for President Muhammadu Buhari to accept defeated in the presidential election.

The party said Buhari will concede defeat and congratulate who ever wins the race if the election is confirmed free, fair and credible.

The Deputy Director-General, campaign council of APC, Waziri Bulama, said this when he addressed newsmen in Abuja on Thursday.

Bulama, however, made it clear that it was impossible for the party to loose the election.

“The outcome of this election, if free, fair and credible would be accepted by President Muhammad Buhari and by the party,” the deputy DG said.

“If we win, which is very, very likely we will congratulate Nigerians for having participated in a free, fair and peaceful election.

“That is number one. Number two, we are not even going to celebrate or over celebrate because an election success of President Muhammadu Buhari is another burden on him and this man would want to do more than he has done.

“So, we will humbly thank Nigerians for given us their votes for another four years to build on what we have done.

“But in the event Nigerians decided, in a free, fair and credible election to give their votes to another person, President Muhammadu Buhari will still thank Nigerians and will call the person that eventually won the election and congratulate him,” he said.

PoliticsAsiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Blows Hot Again. by Truth2030(op): 2:20pm On Feb 11, 2019
Obasanjo came and we taught them that there is no other way for business evolution and revolution without steady power supply.

I introduced independent power generation. What did he do? He and Atiku opposed it. I went to court and Osinbajo was my lawyer. I won in court and we started generating 300MW; the first state to do it. Imagine 1999, if Nigeria had made that dedication to electricity generation, you will not see Dunlop, Michelin move out of this country.

Look at our roads; look at the vehicular density of Lagos alone. And they call one man Obi somewhere in one party. He said he will create jobs. He has not been able to tell us how we can make brake pads, wheel spanner on our own for those vehicles. And he said, maybe we should extend the port to Benin Republic, so that we can clear our cargo faster. I call that one ‘container economy, Obi China’.

“Who sent Michelin out of this country? PDP right? Who got rid of Dunlop Manufacturing Company? Who sent Siemens out of this country? They want to take that money and the business of this country, back to their friends in Europe and America again.

“I want to sympathise with our friends, our foreign observers. You’re welcome. Observe what you need to observe, write your report in peace and go home. This is our democracy. America is still questioning its own democracy. We’re watching CNN; Trump and China, Trump and Russia. Interference in the largest African democracy is what we are saying. G-20, in year 2007, asked Umaru Shehu Yar’Adua of blessed memory, ‘what are you going to do with the election in Nigeria?’

He said: ‘The election that brought me as president of this country is flawed and I will reform it’. Is that not correct? Who conducted that election? Obasanjo is the greatest election rigger in this country. He’s an expired meat. Dump him in the dustbin. Forget Obasanjo.”

PoliticsBreaking News!!! France Bankrolling Atiku's Campaign....to Buy Nnpc. by Truth2030(op): 8:42pm On Feb 10, 2019
France and French companies are spending heavily in Atiku's campaign because of the understanding that NNPC will be sold to Valero Energy in event Atiku wins the presidency. It is no longer in doubt that Atiku is a Cameroonian who has no blood relationship with Nigeria and Nigerians and he is already cementing ties with his biological country of origin, Cameroon. The big news today is the revelation of French connection in Atiku's campaign. C&I Paris is the french firm directly working for Atiku and his campaign as Chief lobbyist from Paris with direct support from the French and Cameron governments.

A company directly owned by a French cartel, Valero Energy is earmarked to buy NNPC at a devalued rate if Akitu wins the Presidential election. Valero Energy has pumped over Fifty Million (50,000,000E) Euros into Atiku's campaign because of the understanding

The oil company in Cameron, Sonara, has also invested in millions of dollars to Atiku's campaign.

On the 19th and 20th of December, 2018 wire transfers from EDF and Altena, two French energy companies hit five Atiku's campaign bank accounts in Diamond bank, First Bank, Zenith, U.B.A and Fidelity bank.

The President of Cameroon will on Saturday be in Atiku's home in Jada in Adamawa to hand over Millions in Dollars for vote buying. The Nigerian government should investigate this unconventional spending from Cameroon and France because it violates our electoral law. Meanwhile, is the federal government aware that the Cameroonian President is visiting Jada in Adamawa State of Nigeria today, a week to our general election?

PoliticsIgbo Will Regret If They Don’t Vote For Buhari —APC by Truth2030(op): 10:36am On Feb 10, 2019
The South-East Youth Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Innocent Ojike has said the Igbos will regret if they don’t vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in next Saturday’s poll.

He stated this on Saturday at a press conference in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

He said the Igbos would lose in the political equation of the country if they failed to vote massively for the APC, stressing that Buhari would win.

He said the poll would determine what the southeast would be in the political chessboard of the country in 2023.

He noted that Ndigbo made “a costly mistake in 2015 general elections” by failing to vote for Buhari, adding that the Igbo should not allow the situation to repeat itself in the 2019 general elections.

He expressed regret that the voting strength of the South-East geopolitical was the lowest in the country.

He said,” The Igbo nation should learn to collaborate with other zones to achieve their aim of producing Nigerian President in 2023.

“All hands should be on deck to achieve this noble objective, since the zone cannot do it alone.

He enjoined Buhari to facilitate the creation of an additional state, should he win next week’s poll.

Politics2019 Elections: Nigerian Customs Intercept Truck Load Of Police Uniforms. by Truth2030(op): 12:54pm On Feb 08, 2019
Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, the Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘A,’ Nigeria Customs Service, said it intercepted bales of uniforms, tear gas canisters and other paraphernalia of the Nigeria Police Force.

The command revealed that the uniforms that were intercepted along Lagos road were concealed in a Toyota Sienna space bus heading out of Lagos.

The Customs Area Controller, FOU, Muhammed Aliyu, said one person had been arrested in connection with the seizure.

He said the uniforms were a threat to national security as they were destined to get into the wrong hands.

In addition to the uniforms and tear gas, ranks, belts, berets and police badges with identity cards were also intercepted by the unit, Aliyu said.

“The items seized are a threat to national security because the uniform can be used for kidnapping, Boko Haram activities or during the elections,” Aliyu said.

Giving details about the paraphernalia of the police seized, he said, “We have belts and badges for the ranks of sergeants and inspectors. The identity cards have no name on them. They are only printed and later they will be affixed with any names they want to put on it.

“One bundle of the material for the uniform can be used to make uniforms for about 10 people, and Nigerians will complain about atrocities of policemen not knowing some are not real policemen but impostors.”

Aliyu added, “Not only were identity cards and ranks intercepted, but there were also cutlasses. What is a policeman supposed to do with a cutlass? Have you ever seen a genuine policeman with a cutlass? These are part of the atrocities they will use the uniform to commit.”

He, however, warned those involved in the unwholesome practice to stop because the service would always be a step ahead of them.

“I am telling those who are involved in this unwholesome practice to stop it. The one they have in stock they should destroy it because we are coming for them,” he stated.
