Hamas has responded to the US ceasefire proposals by accepting them in part but seeking further negotiations on a number of key points. In a statement the movement said it agreed "to release all Israeli prisoners, both living and dead, according to the exchange formula contained in President Trump's proposal" - if field conditions for the exchanges were met. But it appears to suggest it is seeking further negotiation on other issues regarding the future of the Gaza Strip and the rights of the Palestinian people saying that they are still being discussed. The announcement comes hours after US President Donald Trump gave Hamas a deadline of 18:00 Washington time (22:00 GMT) on Sunday to accept a US peace plan for Gaza or face "all hell". The peace plan proposes an immediate end to fighting and the release within 72 hours of 20 living Israeli hostages held by Hamas - as well as the remains of hostages thought to be dead - in exchange for hundreds of detained Gazans. In a statement, Hamas said it also "renews its agreement to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body of independents (technocrats), based on Palestinian national consensus and Arab and Islamic support." But it added that the part of the proposals dealing with the future of Gaza and the rights of Palestinian people was still being discussed "within a national framework". Earlier on Friday, Trump posted on his Truth Social platform: "If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas. THERE WILL BE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ONE WAY OR THE OTHER," Trump wrote in the Truth Social post. On Tuesday Trump had said that he was giving Hamas "three to four days" to respond to the peace plan. There are believed to be 48 hostages still being held in the Palestinian territory by the armed group, only 20 of whom are thought to be alive. In a briefing at the White House on Friday afternoon, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the consequences of turning down the deal would be "very grave" for Hamas. "I think that the entire world should hear the president of the United States loud and clear," Leavitt added a . "Hamas has an opportunity to accept this plan and move forward in a peaceful and prosperous manner in the region. If they don't, the consequences, unfortunately, are going to be very tragic." The 20-point plan, agreed by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and announced by both at the White House on Monday, also says Hamas will have no role in governing Gaza, and leaves the door open for an eventual Palestinian state. However, Netanyahu later reinstated his longstanding opposition to a Palestinian state, saying in a video statement shortly after the announcement: "It's not written in the agreement. We said we would strongly oppose a Palestinian state." The plan stipulates that once both sides agree to the proposal "full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip". Republicans and Democrats point fingers as shutdown comes into effect As the US federal government shutdown started an hour ago, members of both parties are laying the blame on one another. From the Democrats: Congressman Bill Foster issues a statement saying Republicans bear responsibility for the shutdown, given they control the House, the Senate and the White house. Families across the country will "continue to pay the price" unless the Republicans come to the table, he adds. Representative Joe Morelle says he's "deeply frustrated", and the shutdown was a direct result of "a brutal and incompetant administration" California Governor Gavin Newsom shares on X a photo of Trump in his office, calling the president a "very weak man who can't even do stairs" And on the Republicans' side: The Republican Conference in the US House of Representatives shares on X a video of lights in the Capitol Building turning out, saying the Democrats are "putting illegal aliens first and hurting hardworking Americans in the process" Representative Chuck Fleischmann says that Democrats have "officially shut down our government", and "hardworking taxpayers will have to pay the bill" Fellow Representative Dusty Johnson says "shutdowns are stupid", adding that Democrats are "putting American workers' paychecks at risk" Federal furlough payments could cost $400m a day - official estimates A letter issued by the director of the Congressional budget office prior to the shutdown has given more details over the potential financial implications. In the letter from Phillip Swagel, the office estimates 750,000 federal employees could be furloughed each day, with a total daily cost of around $400m (£297m). It adds that this projected number of furloughed employees could vary daily, as some agencies might furlough more employees the longer the shutdown persists, while others might recall some initially furloughed employees. Members of Congress will still be paid as their pay is required by the American constitution, the letter adds. As for the military, they are required to work during a shutdown but won't be paid until after. "The effects of a government shutdown on business activity are uncertain, and their magnitude would depend on the duration of a shutdown and on decisions made by the Administration," the letter adds.

After Gaza peace talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington DC, US President Donald Trump says a deal is "beyond very close" Hamas says it has not formally been sent the 20-point peace plan released by the White House Trump says that Netanyahu will have US backing to "do what he has to do" to "destroy" Hamas if the group does not agree to the plan If Hamas rejects the plan or doesn't follow through, Netanyahu says Israel "will finish the job" What does the plan say? The proposal, if followed, would begin with the immediate cessation of military operations. It also says existing "battle lines" would be frozen in place. Under the plan, Hamas would lay down its arms and its offensive weaponry would be destroyed. It would release 20 living Israeli hostages and the remains of more than two dozen believed to be dead within 72 hours. Once those hostages are released, the proposal says Israel would release hundreds of detained Gazans. It also says that once both sides agree to the proposal "full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip". The US also outlines its plan for the future governance of Gaza. It says a "technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee" will govern temporarily "with oversight and supervision by a new international transitional body, the Board of Peace, which will be headed" by Trump. Former UK PM Tony Blair, and other leaders "to be announced", would also be part of the governing body. It adds that Hamas must have no role in governance, "directly, indirectly, or in any form". Much of the plan is focused on what the US calls an "economic development plan" to rebuild Gaza. It also says "Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza" and its forces will withdraw from the territory in stages over time. The plan also leaves the door open to an eventual Palestinian state.

There's no logic in what she did.. And I don't think the man should regret his action.. The country is hard and as far as he's not doing an illegal business then why not if not.. They have to survive, she allowed her emotions to get the better part of how sad.. He should let her go, take care of his kids.. And people talking about religion they don't know what they are talking.. Religion won't feed you, God won't come down from heaven to feed you, it appears immoral from that sense, but the world is it self immoral. One of the core failures of man is allowing emotions, fear and religion be their guide.. Use logic in dealing with the world She should leave, and his kids should stay. |
Conservative Party Leader Kemi Badenoch, who spent her childhood in Lagos, is having a major day. She is set to sit down with President Donald Trump today. This is a huge move that puts her firmly on the world stage. From her beginnings in Nigeria to now negotiating with one of the most powerful leaders, her rise is truly inspirational. WHO IS KEMI BADENOCH Kemi Badenoch born Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke in Wimbledon, London, in 1980. Spent her formative years in Lagos, Nigeria. Her parents were accomplished professionals her father a doctor and publishing entrepreneur, her mother a physiology professor. Despite their middle class status, Kemi experienced the harsh realities of Nigeria’s economic struggles; No consistent electricity or running water, often studying by candlelight and fetching water from a well. Periods of poverty due to inflation and political instability under military rule. Education at the international School of Lagos, where she excelled academically. At 16, she returned to the UK with just £100 in her pocket, determined to build a better future. This experience shaped her conservative beliefs. I don’t take what we have in this country for granted she once said, a woman of deep resilience.

To be ‘taken seriously’ is to be seen as capable of suffering, aspiring, and building meaning together. That comes from discipline, purpose, and emotional presence not disposable income. A man who cultivates his mind, owns his journey, and respects hers doesn’t need to pay for attention. He commands it through substance. |
vincenteger:I pity this lil man... Seeking validation from a girl, who probably won't be with him if not for the values he offers her, how sad for him.. In life as a man you have to first of all validate yourself to be validated if you're always seeking for validation you'll be deeply disappointed one day.. I wish him all the best but the question is why does he even need the girl Jarvis?? He doesn't need her, he needs him self.. At the level he is you think he'll be the one attracting and not chasing but it's the other way round... He's going to learn the hard way soon enough. Obviously the little lady would been teird of his bogus altitude, he needs to stop and check himself.. |
Fellow Nigerians, I bring to light a matter of urgent public concern regarding governance, transparency, and the use of public funds in Akwa Ibom State. According to reliable sources, the Akwa Ibom State Government is currently developing a Judges Housing Estate in Uyo, comprising 50 units, with each unit valued at a staggering ₦250 million naira. If these figures are accurate, the total project cost would amount to ₦12.5 billion yet there is no official record, tender notice, or budgetary disclosure anywhere online or in public documents supporting the existence, location, or justification of this project. We’ve all heard the saying; Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. In Nigeria, where there are rumors especially consistent, well sourced ones there is almost always some truth What is even more concerning is that this is not an isolated case. All across Akwa Ibom State, there are numerous ongoing projects road constructions, housing schemes, educational and health infrastructure that remain shrouded in secrecy. The public has a right to know how their money is being spent, but we are consistently kept in the dark. To make matters worse, when I tried to access information through official channels, I found that the Akwa Ibom State Judiciary website is suspended. Other key ministry portals such as Finance, Works, and Justice are either inactive, poorly updated, or completely unresponsive. This is a clear violation of the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) 2011, which guarantees every citizen the right to access public information. We must ask ourselves: Why are these projects hidden? Who are the contractors executing these projects? Why are government websites and public communication channels shut down or neglected? Is this a deliberate attempt to avoid scrutiny and accountability? This culture of secrecy is unacceptable. When projects are carried out without transparency, it creates an environment where corruption can thrive. Public funds become private gain, and the people are left with nothing but empty promises and crumbling infrastructure. It is time we demand better. We deserve a government that operates in the open, that respects the right of the people to know, and that is truly accountable to the citizens. I call on all well meaning Nigerians, civil society organizations, and the media to join in demanding full disclosure of all government projects in Akwa Ibom State and across Nigeria. The FOI Act is our tool. Let us use it. What are your thoughts? Has anyone else noticed these concerning patterns in your state??
|
Okoroawusa:Let’s be clear what you’re dismissing as noise is the cry of a generation tired of being led by thieves in agbada. This isn’t about berating anyone it’s about holding a mirror to a system that runs on corruption and thrives on the silence of the oppressed. You think Obasanjo is throwing stones from a glass house? Maybe. But if he had skeletons capable of breaking him do you honestly think the political hawks in Aso Rock would hesitate to bury him? They can’t because even he knows the real corruption isn’t hidden in closets it’s happening in broad daylight in padded budgets in ghost projects and in laws designed to protect the powerful. Look at my state Akwa Ibom. What do we see? Projects that exist only on paper funded with billions that vanish into private accounts. Roads that wash away after one rainfall schools without roofs hospitals without drugs yet our leaders ride in convoys of bulletproof SUVs praising their own generosity. This isn’t governance. It’s organized crime wearing a political face. And the masses? They’re not ignorant they’re exhausted. They’ve been gaslit manipulated and left with no faith in a system that promises change but delivers suffering. So before you come here defending the very people stealing your future ask yourself who really benefits when we turn on each other instead of turning on them? This country won’t change until we demand more not from others but from ourselves. Stop defending the decay. Speak up. |
JackDaAlienz:Hey don't bring dimension iisshs into this and stop sounding woke on something you have no idea of, I believe you're consuming too many YouTube videos without been able to comprehend it to real life... Talking about consciousness like you even know what it means.... Transgender I repeat is a way of been confused and not knowing how to fix yourself... In philosophy which deals with human consciousness and existence, there's a question why do you want to be like someone else ? The moment you stop been your self and seek to be someone else you choose to not exist... And you know what not existing means? It means you're choosing death over all, but why would one not embrace his reality and choose to be someone else, live in someone else reality...? Don't be fool, look in the mirror and challenge yourself, your incompetence, your lack of discipline, don't choose to be someone else embrace your nature your reality... Validate yourself and don't expect others to do so for you.... All transgender are fakers they can never be happy forget the social media buhaha. Understand reality and you'll be happy, trust me. |

I'm a hacker with 4 years experience, and so far this is my experience on this topic: If you think paying ₦500k for a "cyber bootcamp" in Lagos or Abuja will make you a hacker? (abeg shift make I laugh small) I don enter this game since 2021. I don do pentest for foreign companies, find vulnerabilities for businesses websites (legally o!), and chase bug bounties. Your power no dey for bootcamp certificates. E dey for the TOOLS wey dey your laptop and the HOURS you dey grind for free labs! See wetin I mean ✅ Bootcamp Reality: Teachers fit be guys wey just memorize CEH textbook. Dem go teach you theory of SQL injection but no go show you how to use `sqlmap` or Burp Suite to actually exploit am for real time. - Syllabus dey stale like Agege bread wey don pass 3 days. Cloud? API hacking? Zero-depth. - Dem go charge you for "elite training" but dem own hacking experience na to reset JAMB portal password. ✅ Tool Reality (Where the Magic Happens): - My first real hack? Nmap + Google. I dey scan free TryHackMe machine for 3 hours, dey Google every result like madman. Today? That machine na my breakfast. - Burp Suite Community (free!) don make me catch over $3k in bug bounties. I never see bootcamp teach Burp like say dem sabi. - Hack The Box free machines don train me pass any Yaba "cyber guru" wey dey charge ₦200k/month. My Point (From Street, No Textbook): 1️⃣ Forget 3 Months Hacker Scam, No bootcamp go fit give you the brains of a hacker in 3 - 6 months, haba na.. Cybersecurity be like learning Agbero for Oshodi e require street practice. Quick Tip ✅ ➡️ break things ➡️ Google errors ➡️ Use AI. ➡️ Repeat. 2️⃣ Tools Wey You Must Jam (All Free/Freemium): Scanning: `Nmap`, `RustScan` (speed pass bullet) Web Hacking: `Burp Suite`, `sqlmap`, PortSwigger Academy (sacrifice sleep for this!) Networking: `Wireshark` (see wetin dey fly inside packets) Practice Grounds: TryHackMe (free rooms) Hack The Box (1 free machine/week) OverTheWire (command-line). 3️⃣Online learning, YouTube & Communities: NetworkChuck (YouTube) explain hacking like say na gist. Nairaland Tech Section (we dey here!) better pass bootcamp Q&A session. Join HTB Naija Discord, real hackers dey give free tips there all the time. 4️⃣ Certificates No Be Power: CEH? SSCP? Na to help HR see your CV. But if you no fit use `John the Ripper` to crack hashes or catch XSS with Burp, na paper hacker you be. Normally Bootcamp fit help you start (if you find one good one). But 90% of my skill come from free tools + free labs + nights of frustration + YouTube/Discord gurus and recently AI. Na tools dey turn theory to blood. No certificate go give you that. Wetin be your experience so far as a hacker? You don go bootcamp before? Which tool dey give you that superman power right now? Talk am make we know! 👇 abi na learner u be, which one? comment make we yan

johnerry77:The Masters is cheap.. Cyber security isn't.. Don't be fooled you need to spend a million plus in the learning process before you can be able to land a good job... US President Donald Trump rejected a plan by Israel to kill Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, three US officials have just confirmed. Trump reportedly told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that assassinating Khamenei was "not a good idea", according to one official. The president has not commented publicly on the report. The conversation is said to have happened since Israel launched its attack on Iran on Friday. During an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu did not directly confirm or deny a report from Reuters that Trump had vetoed a plan to kill the ayatollah. "There's so many false reports of conversations that never happened and I'm not going to get into that," the Israeli prime minister said. "But I can tell you I think we do what we need to do. We will do what we need to do and I think the United States knows what is good for the United States and I'm just not going to get into it." An Israeli official told CBS News that "in principle" Israel does not "kill political leaders, we are focused on nuclear and military. I don't think anyone making decisions about those programs should be living free and easy". Israel first launched an attack on Iranian nuclear infrastructure and other targets on Friday. The two countries have continued to launch massive strikes at each other since, with attacks entering a third day on Sunday. In his latest post on Truth Social about the escalating situation in the Middle East, Trump said "Iran and Israel should make a deal", adding that he would get the two to cease hostilities "just like I got India and Pakistan" - referring to the recent confrontation between the countries. Speaking to reporters before leaving for the G7 summit in Canada, Trump said the US would continue to support Israel and declined to say if he had asked the country to stop its strikes on Iran. The next round of US-Iran nuclear talks were initially scheduled to take place on Sunday, but mediator, Oman's foreign minister Badr Albusaidi, announced a day earlier that they had been cancelled. Iran told Qatar and Oman that it was not open to negotiating a ceasefire while it was still under Israeli attack. Trump said on Saturday that the US "had nothing to do with the attack on Iran". "If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before," he warned.

A Colombian presidential candidate has been shot three times - reportedly twice in the head - at a campaign event in the capital, Bogota. Miguel Uribe Turbay, 39, was attacked while addressing a small crowd in a park on Saturday. Police arrested a 15-year-old suspect at the scene, local media say. Uribe's wife, Maria Claudia Tarazona, called on the nation to pray for his survival. "Miguel is currently fighting for his life. Let us ask God to guide the hands of the doctors who are treating him," she said. Uribe's Centro Democratico party condemned the attack, saying it endangered "democracy and freedom in Colombia. Phone footage shared online appears to show the moment when he was shot in the head mid-speech, prompting those gathered to flee in panic. Paramedics said he had been shot in the knee and twice in the head, AFP news agency reported. He was airlifted to Sante Fe clinic where supporters have gathered outside to hold vigil. The government of left wing President Gustavo Petro said it "categorically and forcefully" condemned the attack as an "act of violence not only against his person, but also against democracy." US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also condemned the shooting as a "direct threat to democracy". Uribe announced his candidacy for next year's presidential election in October. He is from a prominent political family in Colombia, with links to the country's Liberal Party. His father was a union leader and businessman. His mother was Diana Turbay, a journalist who was murder in 1991 in a rescue attempt after she had been kidnapped by the Medellin drugs cartel run at the time by Pablo Escobar.
