obedience4:Iran has numerous ways to close the Straits and could use any of them or any combination. These include mines, scuttled hulks (which are currently already in place), naval action (especially fast boat swarms), submarines at the entrances, and shore-based artillery, heavy mortars, guided and unguided missiles, air attack, and other means of direct attack. Iran would not have to completely close the Straits, but could selectively close them by allowing some shipping to transit while attacking others. In June 2019, after 30 years of continuously deploying a carrier task force in the Persian Gulf, the US Navy decided it was simply too risky to transit capital ships though the Straits. This places a significant portion of Iran beyond the strike range of carrier aircraft. |
obedience4 post=I:. Iran is most likely to close the strait by mining the strait. As soon as the first oil tanker got a massive whole in its body, oil market would be skyrocketing and the prices of gasoline would be much more expensive. It all depends on how committed each sides are. In Iranian perspective, if they really don’t want to allow any oil to pass then they would have to at some point target the US warships. The same applies for the US. The US will be clear loser if they want to only limits the fighting on the sea. However, expanding their target throughout Iran means all out of war which means even more uncertainty to the oil market. ![]() |
What a stup!d thing to say. How does this nonsense benefit akwa ibom?? |
helinues:who are the 'we' Speak for yourself. |
Rexymania:While science has undoubtedly transformed our understanding of the world, can we truly say that everything worth believing in can be scientifically proven? |
I'm from Akwa ibom, and i tell that will tell you that APC will win Akwa ibom hands down, except Akpabio decamp to another party which is not possible. Akpabio is being worshipped like a god in Akwa ibom . |
![]() Honestly, I strongly feel there's something very intentional about the way they positioned beautiful, fair-skinned women around Akpabio. Look at the pattern clearly, Natasha Akpoti is a beautiful woman, no doubt. Then here comes Bianca Ojukwu, another stunning, fair-skinned beauty. It’s almost as if they’re saying, “What Natasha couldn’t do, Bianca can do better.” You don’t even need binoculars to see the game being played. If not for the clash and fallout between Natasha and Akpabio, I am very sure Natasha would have been the face we’d be seeing in those smiling pictures today, not Bianca. Akpabio’s preference is almost laughably obvious. Fair and fine women seem to be his weakness. ![]() Nothing wrong with having a "type," but make it less obvious, sir! That said, let Akpabio tread carefully. Because if he dares provoke the spirit of Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, all because he's now cozying up to BIANCA in public functions, e fit turn another thing o! ![]()

LegendHero:you spoke my mind. I think Akpabio is up to something. He has been convincing many southern governors and politicians to join APC. Time will tell ![]() |
Akpabio-led senate is working |
The Nigerian Senate has rolled out the red carpet for a high-profile Chinese delegation, offering full legislative support for a landmark $500 million investment in the country’s solid minerals sector. This development marks a significant stride in Nigeria’s efforts to reduce its reliance on oil revenues and tap into its vast mineral resources. During a meeting with the Senate Committee on Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Chen Twan, leader of the Zong Hong Kotai Group, revealed plans to commence mining operations across three states – Zamfara, Kebbi, and Nasarawa. The Chinese investors expressed particular interest in Nigeria’s untapped mineral deposits, with potential for expansion to a $1 billion investment if initial operations prove successful. Senator Onawo Mohammed Ogoshi (Nasarawa South), speaking on behalf of the Committee Chairman, assured the delegation of comprehensive legislative backing. “We will create the necessary legal framework to protect your investments and ensure smooth operations,” Ogoshi stated, while encouraging the group to attract more foreign investors to Nigeria’s mining sector. The investment comes at a crucial time as Nigeria intensifies its economic diversification agenda. Senator Mohammed Alero emphasized this strategic shift, noting: “This partnership aligns perfectly with our national goal of moving beyond oil dependence. We will engage state governors and traditional rulers to ensure your operations face no obstacles at the grassroots level.” Representing Nigerian interests, Mr. Adamuta, Managing Director of Exterdam Exploration, confirmed the Chinese group had conducted extensive due diligence over two years, including factory visits and process reviews in China. Notably, the investment extends beyond mining, with plans for industrial park development that could create significant job opportunities. This collaboration signals growing international confidence in Nigeria’s mining sector and sets the stage for potentially transformative economic impact. Industry experts suggest the deal could serve as a model for future foreign investments in Nigeria’s non-oil sectors. https://www.tvcnews.tv/senate-welcomes-500-million-chinese-mining-investment/ |
Katakata10:🤣🤣 This is funny Funny |
My instincts tell me Akpabio is cooking something, this might be connected with tinubu and shettima travelling out . Let's wait and watch the drama to be unfold. The end will justify the means 😉😉 |
Hey Nairalanders, let's have a laugh and a moment of truth 😂. I'm curious to know at what age you guys discovered that babies come out of the 'front door' 🚪 and not the 'back door'? 🤷♂️ I'll never forget my embarrassing moment. I was 20 years old, hanging out with friends, and we started discussing childbirth. I confidently said, "Babies come out of the 'back door'!"🚪 My friends burst out laughing, and one of them said, "Dude, you're killing me!" 😂 I was so embarrassed, but also relieved to finally know the truth. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who was clueless for a while. So, how old were you when you discovered the truth about childbirth? Was it a funny moment or an embarrassing realization? Share your stories and let's have a good laugh! |
AFRICA: WHY EUROPE HAS REFUSED PEACE IN UKRAINE Some days ago, French President Macron vowed to send troops to Ukraine without Russia’s consent. This was coming on the heels that despite President Trump sending an envoy to discuss peace with President Putin and end the war and suffering in Ukraine, Europe is vowing a $1 Trillion defense budget to counter “supposedly Russian aggression” in Europe and possibly push Putin out of Ukraine (as if they can do that without US military strength). The ongoing war in Ukraine has led to extensive geopolitical debates, with many around the world questioning why European powers seem not to be interested in pursuing a swift path to peace, seeing as Ukraine have lost more than 500,000 Ukrainians, both civilians and military, and is losing more ground by the day to Russian advances. Of course, the official narrative revolves around defending sovereignty and international law, but I believe deeper economic, strategic, and historical interests suggest that Europe’s reluctance to seek an immediate resolution is geared towards protecting their position in Africa. ***** - Economic and Military Interests in Africa For decades, France has maintained a unique financial arrangement with its former African colonies, particularly those in West and Central Africa that use the CFA franc. This CFA franc system requires member countries to deposit a significant portion of their foreign exchange reserves in the French Treasury. With Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger expelling the French from their various countries while deepening economic and military partnership with Russia through Russia’s Wagner Group, Europe (especially France) is aware that a Putin victory and peace deal with only the US in Ukraine will further embolden more Francophone African countries dump France and turn to Russia. Therefore, one of the key reasons Europe has not aggressively pursued peace in Ukraine is the economic and military benefits to be lost in Africa should Putin emerge victorious, especially their military bases and access to cheap mineral resources. Africans are watching and learning that Europe faced with another power are powerless, especially in the light of the fact that their supreme protector, the US and Trump, does not really care much for Europe. Therefore, Europe is desperate to contain Putin in Ukraine to avoid losing their economic footholds in the developing world, especially in Africa. Geopolitical Strategy and Weakening Russia For many European policymakers, the conflict presents an opportunity to weaken Russia as a competing power in Africa. Russia has historically been a counterbalance to Western influence, particularly in Africa and Asia. By sustaining the war, Europe aim to drain Russian resources, limit its global influence, and prevent it from exerting further pressure on their position and interests in Africa. From Africa’s perspective, this strategy is reminiscent of Cold War-era conflicts where superpowers used proxy wars to achieve their broader strategic objectives. Many African nations see the lack of a strong European-led peace effort as a deliberate strategy rather than an unfortunate consequence of diplomacy. Thus, with the US abandoning Europe, and Russia winning in Ukraine, Africans are beginning to wake up to new realizations that perhaps, new partners can be found in Russia and China than in Europe, and thus, the Europeans are desperate to counter this by prolonging the war in the hope that Russians back home will put pressure on Putin to end the war and get out of Ukraine. Conclusion In conclusion, Europe’s reluctance to push for peace in Ukraine stems from a mix of economic, strategic, and geopolitical considerations. As Africa watches from the sidelines, the broader lesson remains clear: global peace efforts are often dictated by power and profit rather than universal principles of justice.

Also this thought experiment no consider say humans get fundamental needs wey solitude no fit meet . Emotional support, intimacy, sense of belonging... all these things dey important for our well-being. Without people, we go suffer. And what of our traditional values? We Nigerians, we love our community, our culture. Solitude no be part of who we are. |
Make I ask you, how you go take enjoy life without people to share am with? No be solo enjoyment dey sweet pass? I remember when I go visit my village for Christmas. The whole family dey there, cousins, aunties, uncles. We dey laugh, dey dance, dey eat. That na happiness. Solitude no fit give me that kind of joy. Even in Europe, where they have a strong culture of individualism, people are starting to realize the importance of community and connection. In Denmark, for example, they have a concept called 'hygge', which is all about finding happiness in the company of others.! |
GOFRONT:Akpabio will rule you and Nigeria for years. Get that into your thick skull and the wooden box you called head.! |
SpyMaster1:Haha , my guy, you were really 'holier than thou' in secondary school, abi? I was the opposite, always getting into one trouble or another. But I must say, I admire your commitment to your faith. 😁 |

Hey guys, let me share something with you that hit me hard recently. I've always thought that my worth as a man was tied to my achievements, wealth, or physical appearance. But let me tell you, I've just discovered that none of those things matter if you're lonely and without friends or a social network. I'll be honest, I used to be that guy who thought he could do everything alone. I'd spend hours playing video games, watching movies, or just browsing social media. But one day, I realized that I had no one to share my experiences with, no one to talk to, and no one to support me. It was a lonely, isolating feeling Think about it: when was the last time you saw a woman or anyone for that matter, flocking to a guy who has no friends, no social life, and is just plain lonely? Never, right? It's harsh, but it's the truth. People are attracted to those who have a life, who have friends, who have a sense of belonging. And if you're a man who's lonely and isolated, you're going to struggle to attract anyone. So, what's the solution? It's time to focus on building those relationships, guys! Invest in your friendships, join social groups, attend events, and put yourself out there. Trust me, I'm doing this myself, and it's been a game-changer. What are your thoughts, guys? Have you experienced this firsthand? Share your stories and experiences. |
That's an interesting perspective. I think marriage is still relevant for some people, but it's not the only way to express love and commitment. Maybe we can find a balance between traditional and non-traditional relationships. |
MASTAkiLLAh:You may be right sha but don't discount Nigeria's ability to adapt and innovate in the face of adversity. Throughout its history, Nigeria has demonstrated remarkable resilience and resourcefulness, often finding creative solutions to seemingly insurmountable challenges. While Egypt is undoubtedly a formidable opponent, Nigeria is not a helpless underdog. With its modernizing military, strong regional support network, and resilient citizenry, Nigeria has the potential to hold its own against Egypt in a hypothetical conflict. Also Nigeria's youthful population is a ticking time bomb waiting to unleash its full potential. With over 60% of its population under 25, Nigeria has an unparalleled advantage in terms of manpower, mobilization, and sheer energy. |
But on the other side, Nigeria has Guerrilla Warfare Expertise and Asymmetric Advantage. Nigeria's extensive experience fighting insurgent groups has honed its skills in guerrilla warfare. This expertise will prove devastating for Egypt's conventional forces, who will struggle to adapt to Nigeria's unconventional tactics. Also As a key player in ECOWAS and the African Union, Nigeria wields significant diplomatic clout. Its regional support network will provide a steady stream of logistical, intelligence, and military aid, ensuring Nigeria stays one step ahead of Egypt. |
Let's assume a hypothetical scenario where Egypt and Nigeria engage in a war. Considering their military strengths, economies, and geographical advantages, who do you think would emerge victorious? Share your thoughts! |
Tsarbomba:One day your momma won't call you anymore. One day you will wish she had lived more days to enjoy your time with her. One day she'll stop telling you to stop with your jokes. One day she'll stop giving you the advices she thinks is right for you. One day you will find the house where she was always waiting for you with a cup of hot coffee upon arrival, empty. One day her voice will no longer be heard. One day, only memories will remain. Time flies and waits for nothing and nobody. And on that day, you will feel a void so great that nothing and no one can fill! But even in the midst of grief, there is a lesson to be learned. A lesson about the importance of cherishing every moment, of appreciating every second, and of loving every person in your life. Because one day, they won't be there anymore, and all you'll have are memories. So, while your momma is still with you, make the most of every moment. Listen to her stories, laugh at her jokes, and soak up her love. Because one day, she'll be gone, and you'll be left with only memories to hold onto. |

Hello Nairalanders, The Cold War was a time of intense rivalry and suspicion between the world's superpowers 🌎. One aspect of this era that continues to fascinate is the world of espionage 🤫. In this post, we'll delve into the intriguing world of Russian espionage during the Cold War .From the infamous Cambridge Five 🤝 to the Silvermaster spy ring 🔍, Russian intelligence agencies like the KGB and GRU infiltrated the highest echelons of Western governments and institutions 🏛️. Their methods were cunning, and their impact was significant 🌊. I mean, can you imagine having spies everywhere? 🕵️♂️Some notable examples of Russian espionage during the Cold War include: - The Atom Spy Ring ⚡️: A group of Soviet spies who infiltrated the Manhattan Project and stole nuclear secrets 🤯. Talk about a plot twist! ![]() - The Berlin Tunnel 🚧: A CIA operation that tapped into Soviet communication cables in Berlin, only to be compromised by a Soviet mole 🕷️. Whoops! ![]() - The Mitrokhin Archive 📚: A collection of documents detailing KGB operations in the West, including the identities of Soviet spies and their Western agents. These stories and many more like them are a testament to the cat-and-mouse game played by spies and counter-spies during the Cold War 🐈🕵️♂️. It's like a real-life game of chess! ![]() What are your thoughts on Russian espionage during the Cold War? Share your comments and insights below 😊

Botragelad:Israel's "self-defense" claims are a sham, concealing its true intentions: expansion and domination. This facade has been consistently debunked by experts and human rights organizations. |
Na lie! That's a whole lot of propaganda, my brother. The situation in Syria is complex, like Naija politics. Turkey may have made some gains, but dem no fit claim victory. Russia and Iran still dey there, with military might and diplomatic influence. Syria no be place for child's play. We should no dey believe everything we hear. Make we look at the facts. Turkey's involvement in Syria has caused more problems than solutions. Refugees dey suffer, people dey die, and the conflict no dey end. Russia and Iran still have stake in Syria, and dem no go just walk away. Na long-term investment dem dey look for, not some short-term gains. Make we no dey spread false information. Let's be objective, like say we dey watch Naija football match. We must analyze the game, not just dey shout 'goal!' when no goal dey. |
Noblechykk:You think say suspension of the bill be real?😁 Na just politics, my Niggah Dem dey use am to settle scores. Dem know say the bill go pass, but dem want to make it look like dem dey listen to the people. Dem dey play game.Dem dey use suspension to pacify the opposition, to make dem think say dem dey win. But in reality, dem no dey win anything. Dem just dey delay the inevitable. The bill go still pass, and dem no fit do anything to stop am.! 😎✌️ |
PressMyButton:Na mumu go kill am I swear or maybe na northern paid propagandist Jagaban/Akpabio, the master strategists did not withdraw the bill, 😁, he directed AGF to work with NASS to address contentious areas in the bill. Senate then set up a committee to meet with the AGF to address the grey areas. Most of the members of the committee are Jagaban's boys. Meanwhile, Jagaban is still in South Africa while his boys in Aso rock are running things, When he comes back, every issues will be case closed. Opposition will have their say and Jagaban will have his way. 😁✌️ |
