Pornhub’s “2018 year in review ”, released on Thursday, has shown that South African Women are the Second Highest Consumer of Online Porn in the World inadvertently making them the Naughtiest women in the whole of Africa.

According to the report, Pornhub found that, among its top twenty countries, South Africa tied second with Brazil for the highest number of women visiting the platform when compared to the total population.

Filipinos, who also stay the longest on Pornhub per session, had the highest rate of women users of any country, at 38%. Followed by Brazil and South Africa at 35%.

CAF Awards 2018: Mohamed Salah, Mane, Alex Iwobi shortlisted for the African Player of the Year alongside 7 other spectacular players.

Last year’s winner, Mohamed Salah of Egypt and Liverpool, is one of five English Premier League players shortlisted.

Salah’s club team-mate Sadio Mane of Senegal also makes the cut, along with Arsenal duo Alex Iwobi of Nigeria and Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and former Caf award winner Riyad Mahrez of Algeria and Manchester City.

Cameroon’s Andre Onana and Morocco’s Mehdi Benatia are also shortlisted from the preliminary list of 34 names.

Another Premier League star, Wilfred Ndidi of Nigeria and Leicester City, was shortlisted in the the Youth Player of the Year list, along with Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi and Ivorian Franck Kessie.

In the women’s category, last year’s Caf award winner Asisat Oshoala who helped Nigeria lift the trophy was shortlisted alongside two of her team mates, Onome Ebi and Francis Ordega.

The coaches from the top three teams at the Women’s Nations Cup – Nigeria, South Africa and Cameroon – are shortlisted for the Women’s Coach of the Year award.

Senegal coach Aliou Cisse and Morocco coach Herve Renard make the men’s shortlist for Coach of the Year after both took their teams to the Russia World Cup and achieved 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification. Moine Chaabani, who guided Esperance to African Champions League success, completes the top three.

The National Team of the Year shortlist reflects the disappointing performance by African teams in Russia, with the 2019 Nations Cup qualifiers dominating. Madagascar and Mauritania, who will both play at a Nations Cup for the first time are joined by Uganda who qualified for a second consecutive Cup of Nations.

The top three at the Women’s Nations Cup – Nigeria, South Africa and Cameroon – are all in contention for the Women’s Team of the Year award.

The CAF awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday 8 January 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.

South Africans spent on average 10 minutes 57 second per session on PornHub in 2018 – the second longest duration per pornography visit of any country in the world.

But SA residents spent 5 seconds less on the platform per session compared to 2017 - the only country in the top 20 to decrease its consumption based on time.

Pornhub’s "2018 year in review ", released on Tuesday, showed that Filipinos stayed the longest, with an impressive 13 minutes 50 seconds on the platform, on average, per session

The United States followed South Africa with 10 minutes and 37 seconds, trailed by the Ukraine and Canada with 10 minutes 26 seconds.

The country was ranked the twentieth largest consumer of Pornhub, after Russia, Argentina and Sweden.

Most Searched Terms
"Black South African" remained the top search term used by South Africans on Pornhub in 2018 – but "Afrikaans" moved up 65 places to be the eight most-searched term in the country.

The search term “Afrikaans” grew by a total of 1,391% since 2017 to reach that position.

Pornhub’s “2018 year in review ”, released on Thursday, also showed that South Africans are 112% more likely to view the "ebony" category - the second most searched term on Pornhub in South Africa - compared to the rest of the world.

"Black" was the third most searched term in the country, "cheerleader" fourth, and "South African" fifth.

Pornhub recorded a whopping 33.5 billion visits in 2018, an increase of 5 billion visits compared to 2017. Daily visits now exceed 100 million, the platform said.

Over a million hours of new content was also added to the platform over the course of the year - enough to watch non-stop for well over a hundred years.

According to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Nigeria now has the highest number of out of school children in the world.

In a story published by the Voice Of America, the UN agency says its latest survey “indicates that the population of out of school children in Nigeria has risen from 10.5 million to 13.2 million, the highest in the world”.

UNICEF states that of the 13.2 million out- of-school children in Nigeria, 7.9 million (or 69 per cent) are in the northern states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, “where Boko Haram insecurities have disrupted academic activities”.

“In north-eastern Nigeria, conflict has deprived many children of access to education. Teachers have been killed and schools burned down or closed for security reasons. ”

The UNICEF chief listed other factors responsible for increased number of out-of-school children as poverty, early marriage and poor learning outcomes.

According to him, poverty-related reasons are included as the most important determining factor regarding demand for education and why children are not in school.

“Parents and children from poor households struggle to meet the demands of direct and indirect costs of education. If parents had money, they would prioritise the education of their sons over daughters for socio-cultural reasons.

Dangers of Diving

A 20-year-old man has drowned while being baptised by a pastor in a river south of Ghana's capital, Accra.

In a video circulating on social media, Yaw Kyeremeh is seen stationed at the banks of River Densu together with a pastor who immersed him in the water.

Then after brief prayers he was immersed a second time but he did not emerge from the waters.

Accra Regional Police Command spokeswoman Afia Tenge told the BBC a junior pastor had been arrested at the scene while police were still searching for the head pastor of the church involved in the baptism.

The drowning, which happened on Sunday, has led many people to question why a life should be lost during a religious ritual.

The man's family is quoted by local media as saying that it does not blame anyone for the drowning.
Police said the 20-year-old's body was in a mortuary, and an autopsy still needed to be done before it was given to the family for burial.
