As a foreign person residing in Nigeria for over one year now, this has been my biggest cultural shock and I’m yet to recover from it till date.
The number of illiterates people (both adults and children) I’ve been seeing in Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta and especially Illorin has been mind blowing.

It’s honestly way too much than I expected and it’s all Moslems that I’ve encountered this problem with so far.
It’s only emphasizing one thing; religious ideology significantly influences literacy and and enlightenment levels.
For me this is clearly injustice on these people.

I think there has to be a call for a state of an emergency for adult literacy programs to help some of these victims. This will help chance the way some of them reason with things; ranging from politics to everyday life.
And equally so, religious houses/bodies should be mandated to engaging on activities or preaching messages that encourages parents to send their kids to school so as to save the next generation of kids from this crisis.

A certain people in Nigeria feels that any attack or support for an attack on terrorists is an attack on Nigeria. This baffles me how we have continued to live unknowingly with terrorists and their sympathisers.

Some people are also pushing the agenda that the US wants to steal our resources. Are the resources not still being stolen by the political class? Or do an attack on Fulani terrorists become the Nigerian govt's resource?
