Hmm, thanks for sharing your experience. I'm sorry about it. First, were you given another opportunity to try again? I'm sure the typos were few but Zemandi will exaggerate calling it a dozen. If you would try again, please don't let a single typo be there. Configure your Microsoft Word on your computer to US English. The reply they gave you shows that for the eval assignment, they are mostly interested in your writing skill. So, even if the assignment is tough, do your best to make sure the English is good enough. My suggestions on how to do that:

Never type with a phone; it must be by Microsoft Word on a computer.
Proofread more than once. Check for all underlined words including wide spaces. Check the spellings and capitalization too.
For plagiarism, you may check that before submitting if you still got some time. There are several tools for that online. copyscape.com is reliable.

I hope you succeed the next time.

To those of you saying the assignments were too difficult; well this is what I can say:

Assignments are not always too difficult, and they are not always too easy. There are times when general assignments for the day can come all easy, such that you would keep smiling while you are typing watching your pay climb up. On such days, you may work from morning till night without feeling it.

But there are some other days when assignments can be pretty technical, and you may not be able to do a single assignment throughout the whole day. I think we are currently in one of such days. I'm very sorry if you are requesting for an eval assignment on one of such bad days.

My advice to you whenever assignments come difficult is that you should just look up to the following day rather than getting discouraged. If work is too hard today, it would be easy tomorrow.

To further elaborate, I will post some examples of some past assignments that have been easy, and those that have been hard so that those of you who have not started writing may have a clue of what's happening there.

Look at this assignment below: it is one of the easy ones. Just one google search will give you the answer and all you need to do is change words to prevent plagiarism. You will be done under one hour, and you would get your $2.25. That's over N1,000. On days when assignments are easy, you may get several of this type. So, let's assume you were able to write six for the day, that's $13.25 for that day. Calculate that in naira. And this is for newbies. See it below:

Someone asked me about freelancer.com vs zemandi.com Very shortly, I will do a detailed comparison of both sites, and give you the pros and cons of each. And for those of you who have taken your eval assignments and have started writing, please come here from time to time to give your honest opinions about the site, so that those who are still contemplating on whether or not to join can make informed choices.

My notification indicates that over 120 people have registered. But the majority of you have not even done your eval assignments. For those of you who told me that you sent emails for eval assignment to Support but did not get a reply, please endeavour to send the emails during their business hours (8am to 8pm EST, Mon to Fri).
If you send them an email during these hours and do not get a reply within three hours, send them an email of reminder. There is no harm in bombarding them with emails for eval assignments. You need to pass through that stage before you can become a full writer there.

yeah. i rejected it and requested for another. i was instructed to pick a topic on my own that is tech and mobile related with certain keywords that must feature in the content. its actually for a blog post.

i considered the assignment too broad in cope and might not be able to please the client.

I don't like rejecting an eval assignment because the process of getting it is lengthy on its own. Imaging having to send an email and wait until it comes. Now, this means you will have to go through the process again. But I understand why you rejected it. Send them another request during their business hours, they should be able to send you another one, especially if you include a short explanation on why you rejected the first one like you have done here.

That's one downside of Zemandi. There are days when assignments are usually on very easy topics. Such days are so sweet that you won't know when you have earned a lot. But there are other days why assignments are too technical and as hard as a fibroma durum. Such days we get assignments like the one you got. So what I do is write as many as I can on sweet days so I don't feel too bad on bad days.

I have not written on commercial purpose before; I am just planning to start. The issue I have is where to start from. I don't know in what field or area of life I should focus my writings? I just seem not to have the direction.

Apart from the pay that comes from commercial writing which can be a good source of motivation if high, commercial writing will also expose you to a lot if things and it will, matter-of-factly widen your reading and reasearch scope, thus increasing your knowledge. So, it is a good decision on your part to take your writing commercial.

But if you are trying to create a writing niche, I wouldn't suggest you go to Zemandi. You may want to consider freelancer.com. The reason behind this is that, on Zemandi, you do not have a broad choice of options from which you can select the type of writing you want. When you request for an assignment, the system will send you whatever is available at the moment which could be on any topic whatsoever. You cannot see the assignment before requesting. If you reject, and you request for another, you still will not see it beforehand. So, the choice of creating a writing niche is not possible there.

But at Freelancer, you make a bid to write. In other words, you choose whatever you want to write on from the plethora of available offers. And if you are lucky to have your bid accepted by the employer, you will get to write on exactly what you have chosen. There are many other sites such as this.

Having said that, I cannot categorically mentor you on the field of writing that you should start from right about now. This is because I do not know anything about you yet, so I do not have a psychic competence to spot your strengths and weaknesses in writing. You need to evaluate yourself and figure out your writing interests, whether creative writing, sci-tech, reviews, journals, etc. What have you written in the past? What type did you enjoy writing most? Which received top applause from the people you showed them to? Questions like this will help you figure out where you may start from. Also, what type of writings do you enjoy reading most? Whatever the case, keep reading widely. Don't limit yourself to any field when it comes to reading. A great writer is a great reader, and versatility (not jack of all trades, master of none) will open more doors for you.

Make sure you write it well, free of typos so you can be welcomed officially. If you start writing early in the morning, say 4-5am, you can make $20 in a day, so it would be easy to withdraw your money quickly.

Okay, but before you step your foot into anything at all, please first of all go to the website and read in details all of their terms and conditions. I wouldn't want you to have any regrets and put the blame on me.

I only opened this thread to help people after I saw what ladywriter did concerning freelancer.com not because of the referral code. I already had a refferal code since January last year without sharing with anyone. But how would I invite people to Zemandi without giving them my referral code, knowing fully well that there is no way they can register without a code? The referral earning is only 6% of whatever a person earns, so if you earn $100, for example, I will get a commission of $6 for inviting you, so is that a big money? Meanwhile, you will need to toil day and night before you reach that $100. And you also will be given your own exclusive referral code when you reach $20.



To others,
Writing on Zemandi is not easy at all and the pay is extremely low until you get promoted. So, if you want a higher pay,or if you have some other skills apart from writing, I'd suggest you look into other sites like fiverr.com and freelancer.com . And if you know you can write very fast, say 500 words in 2 hours, there is another site I can introduce to you which will pay you as high as $30 to $40 dollars for a 500-word article. But bear in mind that there are pros and cons in all of these sites, and I had to weigh a lot of options and make several juxtapositions before I concluded that Zemandi was the best option for me at the moment until I get some better places which I am working towards.

Finally, if you can write very well, expand your wings. Learn how to write other stuffs like ebooks, research books, etc and more doors will open for you. But you have to start somewhere, and it's not always easy at the beginning.

Wow! Thank God you were allowed to get another one. In the past they wouldn't allow anyone to get another one immediately the person doesn't meet an expiration deadline.

Thank you. It definitely is not rosy and I didn't make it seem so in my post. What I wrote up there is my honest review based on my personal experience. It's a tough job and I don't write all the time. When I do during holidays, the pay motivates me. For example, I was paid $22.50 for my first article yesterday morning. I spent the whole night writing it. That's difficult, isn't it? But that amount is N11,250 in just a morning. Imagine I was able to write one more of such yesterday. That's clearly more than the N9,000 I wrote on this thread. So, there's no exaggeration in what I wrote. It's simply my experience and I know other people could earn way above me, because I don't write regularly. The person who invited me is a nairalander too and the last time we spoke, she said she got an article for $36. I don't know why you claimed that I put it out as if all is rosy, when the amount I wrote there is very well within the range of possibilities.

This is wrong in the sense that it is not $10. Also you don't get a certain percentage off anyone's pay just like that. What you get is a commission and you cannot get it until your referral has actually reached a particular amount. I started working with Zemandi over a year ago, but I only decided to share my code now. BTW, these things are no secret because they are written in details on the website which I expect people to have read before registering.

Yes, they pay pittance. I would be glad if you could recommend any other which pays better because I have personally not found. Fiverr, freelancer, etc are not for ghostwriters; you have to make your bid. So, I don't know if any ghostwriter site pays better than Zemandi.


And to all, if you must write for Zemandi just take it as a stepping stone. Keep looking out for better ones. My first writing job was lower than 5K a month. But today I earn more than the 9K I wrote up there any day I decide to write for Zemandi. I'm sure it was never rosy for ladywriter too at the beginning, but consistent hard work pays, and you have to start somewhere.

Good. This message means that you can now request for assignments directly from the website, rather than writing email to them. You will also be able to reject assignment that you don't like. When you log into your account, click on your profile by the right hand side. You will see your direct estimated earning.

This kind of attitude is one of the major reasons many Nigerians are jobless, poor and ever complaining. Instead of grabbing an opportunity, the first thing that comes to their mind is scam. And as such, they lose golden opportunities. You, my brother, are not serious. Do you think you are going to work for me? So, you want me to start showing you proofs for something that is all for your own good! That's unseriousness. I might do that if your decision to work would be for my own good. I know a few writing sites that don't accept Nigerians at all, and it all bothers on these scam issues and distrust. Maybe you will appreciate Zemandi when they decide to block Nigerians from writing for them. It almost happened once.
BTW, whenever you hear of an opportunity in which you have nothing to lose, learn to be slow at casting doubts. This job does not require that you pay anything to start, it's all FREE. You stand a chance at losing nothing! So, why should you even raise a red flag? You identity is not even required on the website, so why the skepticism?

Immediately you are done, go to the website and submit. You should receive an email in your inbox under few seconds saying "Assignment ID...has been received". Once you receive this email, check your profile, your direct estimated earning must have been credited. If you do not receive this email, it means the system did not receive your submission. And your direct estimated earning won't be credited. This is an error from the system, so you must contact Support urgently.

How did you submit? Did you submit before expiration time? Was it an eval assignment?

Their business hours are between 8am and 8pm EST. However things are usually slow during weekends. You may register your account using any device, but I'd suggest that you fix your laptop before requesting for an eval assignment. This is in order to prevent errors in your content. But if you have any device that Microsoft Word functions very well on, I think you are good to start.

Keep watching your email; before the 8 hours elapse, you will receive an email with the subject, "time critical quest assignment pending". This email would be meant to remind you of the assignment you got, telling you the number of hours left before expiration. If you haven't received an email from them by then, you may just reject it since the ID would be visible to you. However, if it's an eval assignment, make sure you inform support about it. You may send another reminder email before the assignment expires.

Oh, I'm sorry about that. It sounds strange. Once an email is delivered into your inbox it shouldn't just disappear. Try checking you spam folder. Also, click on the menu to check your promotional emails and other options there apart from the primary emails. Or do you mean you can see the subject of the email but cannot find the content? If that's the case then it's an error from the website. But if not, and if you do not find the email anywhere, you need to contact Support. Do that as soon as possible before the assignment expires.

Many websites use cookies, so if your browser does not enable cookies on any website, you may face some difficulties. Try registering on another browser or use another phone entirely. The website is very easy to navigate, so you can even register using a java phone.

Nigerian paypal account only allows you to pay, it does not allow you to withdraw. So, looking at that, it's possible that Zemandi might be able to pay into your paypal account, but you won't be able to withdraw it. You can withdraw by using some of the alternatives I mentioned. Or you may just leave you earnings on your Zemandi account until you travel to America very, very soon.

Make sure you put your best into your eval assignment because it will determine whether or not you can continue working with Zemandi.

Someone sent me this very question by email. I don't know if you are in Nigeria, because withdrawal is not possible on Nigerian PayPal accounts. See my reply to the person below:

Hi,


Unfortuntely paypal is not availble for withdrawal of funds in Nigeria yet. If you have
someone in a country where paypal is availale, you may want to ask the
person to set up a paypal account for you. You will fill in the
paypal address on your profile, and payment will be made into it. Then
you will ask the person to send it into your local bank account.


But if you do not have someone in a country where paypal is available,
there are several companies/agents that specialize in doing this job.
They will give you their paypal address and you will fill it on your
profile. Then payment will be made into it. Then the company/agent
will send you your payment at a rate you both have agreed on. There
are several of these companies on Nairaland in the Business section.
The only disadvantage here is that these agents have their own
interest.


However, you do not need to get a paypal account before you start
working for Zemandi. If you do not have a paypal account, you just
have to ignore that space on your profile. Your earning will remain on
your Zemandi account and it is very safe there. Anytime you get a
paypal account in the future, you can fill in the address on your
profile and request for payment. When I started working with them, I
had no paypal account. I had earned close to $100 before one of my
friends in the US gave me his paypal address. And that was when I
filled it on my profile and requested for payment.

But as it was done in the past, if your article gets accepted by the client, Zemandi would only notify you on Monday when they pay. But this policy changed early this year for some reasons. It may take up to a week now before you get notified that your article has been accepted.
