Hmmmm you need to be careful about this. While I dont totally agree with the post you replied to, I also dont think "wanting to make others rich" captures it properly. Others are making him richer too.
When private companies go public, its essentially a financing strategy for the company before ownership dilution. The private owner may give away some ownership in terms of percentage but in absolute value they gain so much more. So its not like he woke up amd says to himself- i want to make others rich. He is offering others some value in order to get something of value from them too. It is basically an exchange of value. The people buying shares are also doing him a big favour, now there will be money for expansion, if that wasnt there, he would have to take loan, pay back interest. He shares the risk with shareholders now. At the same time he is getting their loyalty/patronage for free- because everyone with shares will buy from the company they have shares with-sense of ownership. In a way I think this makes it difficult for competitors to want to come into that sector.

When you people are done FOMOing, and people with early privilege are done dumping and taking serious profit on you, the dust will settle, others will come in then.
