Imagine

This is why patriotism is low amongst Nigerians. After giving the country all the productive years of one's life, that's how they are repaid

Protesters arrested instead of attending to the root course of their agitation, the best solution is to shut them up

Most of the people that really campaigned for the present administration did so in the hopes of making returns from the proceeds of blatant state supervised corruption.
Telling this administration to kill corruption is like telling a man to shoot his own balls.
Trying to kill corruption in this administration is just like trying the same in the immediate past administration, it's next to impossible!

This analogy about shooting its balls best describes the Nigerian predicament. They know what to do but refuse to do it.... rather they are chasing crickets instead of addressing the elephant in the room

Apart from genuinely and aggressively fighting corruption, do you think we would see the effects of any good policy for the next two/three years?

What humans need to thrive in dire times Is hope.

Hope based on concrete steps.

Look at the body language of the government and let's tell ourselves the truth. Does it give hope.

It approved 160m for lawmakers to purchase cars, spent billion for hajj, removed subsidy without any cushions for the masses.

A government that knows where its going to would have established manufacturing industries, improved power, invested in agriculture, beefed up security, tried top corrupt personnel giving them speedy trial and appropriate punishment for serve as deterants to others, cut down costs of government etc

If they have done a few of these things and tell people to have hope and give it one year for it to start yielding dividends people would endure but have we seen any of these yet

Instead we see them living large while telling people to endure. WHY?!!

its knee jerk response we see.

Let the government go after corrupt politicians and bank CEOs but alas they cannot shit where they eat

The fg knows what to do but rather they refuse to go after those who are the cause of the problem

Who are the people mopping up the forex . are they not politicians

How do u improve the economy

Go from consumption to production.

Invest in agriculture, improve secuity, ensure local production for exportation, improve power reduce the luxurious live styles of government, let the masses see ur sincerity that you are not paying lip services to their plight and see how things would change

Above all kill corruption. Use a few top rated people as examples and see how the country would fall in line but alas he that comes to equity must come with clean hands

Buhari did all these knee jerk response during his time. Where did it lead us to

The govt keep doing the same things and expecting different responses. Kole werk

A day to the planned protest they would say they have shelved it, only for people to be rallied up for protest in a few months time

Politics / Re: Protest In Ibadan over Economic Hardship, food inflation & high cost of living by tuoyoojo(m): 10:27am On Feb 19
This is just the beginning 7months gone, 3 years 3 months more to go

But let me shock you guys. Many Nigerian voters have short memories. Come 2026,things would become slightly bearable. Politician would c9me and share a few cups of rice and few loafs of 100 naira bread and the improvised citizens would vote for them again.

But the biggest problem is inec because they are the ones who would declare the winners and since the voter apathy that would be experienced in 2027 would be the worse so far, rigging would be easy

In all, only thru divine intervention can this country be salvaged because by human efforts, there is no hope in sight

Ogiame:
People that has signed a life long contract with suffering and pains will wake up to reality?

If Tinubu still comes to the podium to lick microphone again at the next election, they'll still vote for him.

This is the absolute truth. Many Nigerians have very short memories and would soon get used to this new wave of suffering.

Come 2026, the government would make things abit easy, the killing would reduce and they would start sharing a few cups to rice to improvised voters who would gladly sell their votes

But asides that, the real elephant in the room is inec and the judiciary. Voters do not determine winners in elections. Inec and judiciary does. As long as there is no punishment for rigging elections, nothing would change

Voters apathy would be premium which is what elections riggers want. So all these lamentations is music to the ears of these politicians because they know that they are still coming back to power

This kind of politician is hard to find

How selfless can a person be

Come 2026, a year bf the elections, they would start sharing a few cups of rice to people who govt have wesponized poverty against

If they like they should sell their votes and and suffer till 2031

For those blaming APC and president Tinubu for the hardship in the country, are you all aware that UK and Japan are currently in economic recession? Is it APC and Tinubu that is ruling both nations? Nobody should blame APC and Tinubu for the rot the PDP government of Jonathan caused. What we are suffering today is the result of the Jonathan government's recklessness. Peter Obi and his PDP gang brought Nigeria to her knees. May God help our dear president Tinubu to fix the country like he did in Lagos.

When I saw the news about the recession in Uk and Japan, I was very sure that APC goons would take the recession in UK as an achievement for APC to continue its propaganda.

Hope UK and Japan, has herdsmen too, and the inaugurate committees for 1bn and take their friends and cronies abroad for jamboree. Hope they also ensure their economy is dependent on one commodity, ensure police brutality, buy the judiciary and weaponise poverty so that they can share a few cup of rice to them during elections

As usual, those guys don't disappoint. When GEJ wanted to save money for the country, what did the opposition do who went to ojota to dance awilo

Well, I understand you have to justify the 30k they pay u to defend this government. By all means, earn every naira of it. They cannot be paying you without u defending rubbish

We refused to be tricked again

Nigerians are not against subsidy but what are the gains so far with the subsidy removal.

We are too aware that it's only those in government that subsidy benefits. They have everything to gain and nothing to lose

How have our lives become better since they increased fuel from 97 to 670

They said they have saved money. Where is the money. What has the money achieved and how has it made our lives better

If I cannot see anything they have achieved, pls let the subsidy continue because any attempt to increased fuel price.....uhm.!!!!

I rest my case

Watch as APC would use this as an achievement to increase the yoke placed on Nigerians. They would say alright U.K is passing thru recession, so Nigeria must go thru its own too

It's the fact that we accept everything been thrown at us without any resistance that baffles me

This man has a good heart

Politics asides, which Nigerian politician has been this consistent with good deeds and philanthropy

Most times they do it close to elections just for the glam but this Is his lifestyle

PO is made! Whether country good or bad doesn't affect him. It's the masses he has heart for

As many people decided to vote along the lines of tribalism, the effect is what Nigeria is reeling under.

The problem with this subsidy is that when govt claims they want to remove subsidy so they can "save" money to help the economy, does the average man on the street benefit the answer is No!!.

Before subsidy is removed, what are the buffers placed to act as shock absorbers for the ordinary man.

Where is the cheap mass transit system, where is the increase is salary, can the govt claim to used the money judiciously

Are our lives better for it now that the price was increased from 97 to 670. What direction is the country going to. Look at the spiralling inflation affecting the cost of goods

The govt better keep paying the subsidy and reduce their excess expenditure on themselves. The masses have made their sacrifices already. Now it's time for the govt to make theirs
