Only neophytes will think that Tinubu and his teams dont see the coalition coming...The actors of the coaltions are not small boys for Tinubu to think that they wont have their way. they knew that they will eventually do it, but the plan is to , frustrate their efforts for proper galvanization, make them have an unpopular platform and make them deal with series of problems that will affect their solidification...

Also Wike is not trying to make Tinubu run unopposed, he wanted to frustrate Atiku out of the party which he eventually achieved, then whoever, that will contest under PDP will be a weak candidate or they wont have any. having achieved, making Atiku to go and contest on a less popular party..

While the ones that choose not to further their military career and enroll in a university will not be given the rank of private. But they will be called EX-BOYS

Everyone that finishes from NMS is a soldier and after NMS you cannot decide to continue or not. You must put in at least 4 years post NMS before you can even decide to discontinue.

Look, from the moment you join NMS which is JSS1, you are already a soldier with Army number....and right from the that JSS1 you are being paid.

After NMS you are entitled to higher study leave...you can choose to go to NDA (which is not even automatic, you must meet and pass required exam and screening)

Then, you can also choose to o go civil school I.e University... You will be released unhindered to go to University while you're still a soldier and been paid salary at the same time studying.

After graduation from university.....the OP's question comes in...and the answer is NO! You cannot do NYSC but can apply for letter of exemption. Military men can't serve the country twice.

You cannot serve the country in two capacity...as a military man you are already serving the nation.

However, after your graduation, you should apply for exemption NYSC letter.

Nigeria’s former finance minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala received a key endorsement Wednesday from the World Trade Organization’s selection committee, moving her a step closer to becoming the WTO’s first female director-general, people familiar with the matter said.


The panel of three senior WTO ambassadors told Okonjo-Iweala that she had a wide margin of support and is best poised to command a consensus from the organization’s 164 members, according to the people, who declined to be identified because the discussions are confidential.

The recommendation helps Okonjo-Iweala clear one of the final hurdles in a complex and lengthy process aimed at naming the next leader of the WTO during the most turbulent period of its 25-year existence.

Okonjo-Iweala, 66, twice served as Nigeria’s finance minister and has experience working at international governance bodies as a former managing director of the World Bank and as a chair at the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization.


Okonjo-Iweala campaigned as a WTO outsider and a reformer who told Bloomberg she plans to bring a “fresh set of eyes” to a deeply dysfunctional organization.

“I’m known as a strong reformer,“ she told Bloomberg in an interview. “My whole career at the World Bank has been involved with reforms in countries that have been beneficial.”

Looking ahead, the WTO’s leadership selection process is either nearing an end or it’s about to get messy.


Delegates for the members are expected to hold a general council meeting in the coming days to make a formal decision to determine if there is indeed consensus support for Okonjo-Iweala.
