Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 2:29pm On Dec 12, 2019
Looking good
Green droppings could be NCD or perhaps as a result of feed digestion.
KayCee92:
Hello, good evening everyone....please below are my birds of 6weeks and 4days (Agrited). Hope they are not looking bad. Also I notice something like blood in their droppings early in the morning. After feeding them it goes away till the following morning. Green droppings some times to.

Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 4:23am On Oct 27, 2019
Polidine is written on the label
Admacine is 3g/L (beware though, Admacine doesn’t dissolve well in water)
Lexel321:

Oga Turks, can you please explain the dosage of the Polidine + Admacine treatment?
Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 7:58pm On Oct 26, 2019
What vitamin is being used? You don’t change feeds suddenly, it’s to be introduced gradually.

Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 7:57pm On Oct 26, 2019
Lol. That should be as a result of weight. It’s sometimes normal for broilers.
aysnoopy:
hello house, what could be d reason for my birds to be squatting and couldn't stand upright. dey use to walk while squatting but they are agile and eating well

You have to vaccinate on the 6th day.
esquarecocnut:

@bro Turks, oga emma advised I give them admacine which I gave them but they are getting better but some are still breathing from the mouth and finding it complicated to eat I have served vitamins + admacine for three days but i haven't administered Lasota because the have not fully recovered.
Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 5:07am On Oct 10, 2019
Isolate the birds..
Give Polidine for five days (all the flock)
Give La Sota on the 6th day
Give vitamins on the 7th

I really wish you the very best as the immunity of these birds have been compromised.
esquarecocnut:

@turks, what can I do because right now am in chaos, I can't think anymore, can you help me think of what to do? There are already ones that are showing symptoms but not fully the are still a little active but there poo is still green, what can I do? Please please...
Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 3:36am On Oct 06, 2019
You have an issue with New castle disease. The poo in the picture suggests so. You’d have to eventually cull those birds as you cannot vaccinate sick birds.
esquarecocnut:
Oga Emma respond to me please...
Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 3:21am On Oct 03, 2019
From his description? Doubt it.
EMMAACHILE:

It could also be intestinal shedding or even worms.
Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 12:31pm On Oct 02, 2019
Looks like coccidiosis. You need to work on your litter. Change the litter more often and then administer Vitacox. Follow the dosage on the label.

Remember, always stick to the withdrawal periods. Thanks
Funlag:

Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 7:05pm On Oct 01, 2019
Your source is faulty. Why not get your birds from us?
Wiseking00:
@Emma, it seem you have knowledge about agrited bird ?I bought a carton to test run before Xmas sales but it unfortunate the birds are not that good.I noticed turning neck immediately I took the bird home,I mean on first day they are all affected with Newcastle virus if not that I am into it before now I would have lost all the bird .is that how the product used to be because this is my first time of booking agrited.

Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 7:04pm On Oct 01, 2019
It’s not Coryza. What’s irritating their eyes is the smoke. You cannot use kerosine stove as your heat source. It’s not healthy for the birds.
etzvictor:

The ventilation is OK. I used kerosene stove as my heat source, but I stopped using it by day 5 cause of the hot weather.
I was suspecting coryza.

Most of them have companies that fall over each other buying off them seeing as they offer dirt cheap prices. They can also afford to sell on credit based on an understanding. Another major factor to consider is the fact that they produce in bulk; this way, profit margin is a lot higher and remember, they have cooling vans and trucks so they can afford to haul merchandise throughout Nigeria and sometimes, outside the borders of Nigeria if need be.

What I’m trying to say is this, it’s piece of cake for them. The demand for chicken in Nigeria is staggering and can never be satisfied.
Pistotita:

Exactly the method I was discussing with a friend all through last week. In my own opinion, poultry outgrower scheme is quite easier to start and manage than vegetables. With good financing, right technical know how, it's a very good business. But the challenge of outgrowers scheme is making sure one buys the birds when they are matured. So, it means finding market of 50,000 - 200,000 birds or more every week. What methods vendors or big farms use in selling 100 tons and above birds in Nigeria? Is it an easy ride? Or a difficult one?
Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 4:12am On Sep 03, 2019
This isn’t true. You best bet is giving calcium supplements. This doesnt go against the organic rule.
Bentila:

Turks, i learnt from a seminar dat an organic way to solve dis is , boiling egg shell in water and dem giving dem to drink.what do you think
Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 2:37pm On Sep 02, 2019
They can sell out 200,000 DOCs easily. First, they start out with outgrowers scheme to show off their strains. This is how they break into the broiler market.
Pistotita:

Is it really worth it to start hatchery? Just trying to figure out how a new hatchery can easily sell out 100,000 or more DOCs weekly. That's not a small capital to start with.
Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 8:59am On Sep 01, 2019
None that we know of. Cobb, Marshal, Ross parent stock eggs are shipped in directly from the core producers like aviagen, Cobbvantress etc.

You know how the big guys love to dominate the market with their unique breeds unlike the AA+ that’s all over the place.
EMMAACHILE:

Noted. Corrected. I wanted to write and even thought it's 1000 birds. Any other parent stock sold in Nigeria outside Chi?
Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 6:18pm On Aug 31, 2019
Not up to 10,000 birds Chief. 1500 birds is the standard. At least that if the AA+ from CHI.
EMMAACHILE:

Noboby will waste their time with inseminating commercial day old chicks. The offsprings will never be true to type. To get a true to type, you need the breeder parent stock farm.

To get a parent stock in Nigeria should be a minimum of 10,000 birds. These farms must protect their investment
Agriculture / Re: ... by Turks: 6:17pm On Aug 31, 2019
Not if they’re allowed to free range or not fed intensively. How do you think broiler breeders get their eggs?
RichieMichie:

Artificial insemination will do the work. Before male broilers reach sexual maturity they would have become too heavy to mount. If u want to use them for mating u have to feed them like layers with growers mash so they won't have too much fat
