Nairaland / General / Govr Wike Was Wrong On NDDC Not Siting A Mega Project Ever In The State. (VIDEO) by tvcblogspot: 9:42am On Jul 26, 2019
Citizens Quest its tour to bring about the truth as it relates NDDC and the intervention works it has executed to alleviate poverty in the region, the crew on Day 11 visited two key infrastructures that would greatly impact on the live residents of the State and by extension the Region when completed. These are:
Niger-Delta regional Orthopaedic and Cardiovascular hospital situated on the plot that housed the former UPTH in Port Harcourt. The structure is atleast 80% completed.

The second is the police Barrack with 64 flats tastily built to ensure efficient policing in the State.

Nairaland / General / Citizens Quest Clarifies It Position As It Pertains Rivers State Government And by tvcblogspot: 11:55am On Jul 25, 2019
First, we are an NGO and we are not by any chance, the spokespersons of the Nddc or any other Government agency.

We are determined to bridge the gap between the Citizens and the Government by reaching out to the people to find out what they need in spite of what they may want from the government. Also, we verify the claims of Government and reveal our findings to the people. This is mainly because there seems to be a wide gap between the Citizens and the Government.

On the issue of the courtesy visit to Gov Wike, God was so kind to have provoked him to reveal what he was going to say to them on Wednesday, being yesterday.
There was a pre meeting before yesterday and the Governor expressed his disappointment with the Nddc for not working on *Mega projects.* THE EDFA asked if we could go to the sites of the ongoing mega projects which are in Phc and Omoku.

I requested for the list since the people may not even be aware of the on going mega projects. He directed me to the State Office.
Those of you who were with me on Monday and Tuesday know how we were tossed about, even a day, I was discharged from the hospital.
In the end they refused to give us the list.
It was after we had embarked on our tour of Rumuagholu that I thought of calling the Head of Corporate Affairs, who graciously sourced the information and sent to me, though the locations were not mentioned. Of course, Omoku is not a place you go to without security.

The Summary is that the Commission didn't act fast to showcase the mega projects either through their media team or through us.

The EDFA has been in Abuja since last week Thursday sorting out things in the Ministry of Finance. He was not part of the visit yesterday. Sadly, it turned out just the way Wike wanted it.

But Wike is not totally right. 80% of his claims I punctured last night on another platform and even here.

But the solution is not in Press Releases. It is for picture evidence. We were to rest till Monday to enable me recover fully and look for funds. But this is an urgent matter.

While the Commission issues a Press release to that effect, we will go out to search for the truth and see for ourselves.

Other states should be prepared cos it's obvious the Governors are poised for war.

Nairaland / General / You Should Know This About #citizensquest (video) by tvcblogspot: 9:29am On Jul 24, 2019
Exactly 10 days since we began the quest for the truth concerning the claims of the Federal Government agency, the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, that it is delivering on it's mandate. The revelations are awesome as we report uncensored interviews with residents, motorists, Landlords and Site Engineers.
The reports of ongoing and completed projects come from the Citizens through our Facebook messenger and we go to verify their claims.
We have also helped citizens to reach out to the Commission in areas where there is an urgent need for intervention as well as areas where more needs arise.
We have not spared a few contractors who have not also done well.
But some of the messages we receive inbox is one like this
"S.o.s to Nddc, what have we done to deserve this punishment from nddc, shell and state government.come to umuebele and see our roads here in umuebele. A community with over 52 running Wells"-Ochiabuto
We may not have answers to his questions but we can verify his claims and let the authorities know the plight of the Citizens.
Please help us to help the Citizens and the Government by giving us the needed information. We are always at your service.

Nairaland / General / A Citizen Appreciates NDDC For Free Medical Trip by tvcblogspot: 5:06pm On Jul 22, 2019
[img][/img]Mr Amusonu Nwanwuri is a regular and everyday citizen of the federal republic who live and do business in Rumuagholu community of Obio-0ⁿⁿ0ⁿAkpor LGA, Rivers State. He has lived in the community for years and associated and partook in most activities as it concerns the community.
Likewise other residents, He had to endure the ⁿⁿⁿⁿ0hash reality of infrastructural decay and total abandonement that has caused them to live in disparity with other neighbouring town. High transport fare, lack of maintenance of power infrastructure which has left them without electric power, security and other ills have made them live in wants, all these culminated a result of difficult to unpassable road that worsened in recent time.
Mr Nwanwuri who described himself as an ordinary citizen without the kind of connect to pull strings at the echelon or government agencies was astounded when he got shortlisted amongst others for all paid medicals. He went in for surgery and came back healthier and better. His amazement he shared with #CitizensQuest crew.
The sigh of relief evidenced on the expression of business owners, residents and people who pligh the adjoining streets in the community on regular bases was so visible that they opt to speak on camera voluntarily. They spoke in different temperament and accent but the excerpts are the same; Thank you #NDDC for delivering to us the dividend of democracy

Politics / Pdp Lawmaker Calls For Resignation Of Rivers Assembly Speaker. by tvcblogspot: 6:33am On May 15, 2018
PDP LAWMAKER CALLS FOR RESIGNATION OF RIVERS ASSEMBLY SPEAKER, IBANI.

NEWS
Published on May 14, 2018
By Victor Azubuike

The member representing Ahaoda East Constiuency two, Martins Mannah has asked for the resignation of the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Ikunyi Owaji Ibani.

DAILY POST reports that Mannah lambasted the Speaker during a debate on the chaos that occurred at the High Court premises.
The Ahaoda East lawmaker, who was ruled out of order, accused the Speaker of bad leadership and maladministration.
After the day’s sitting, Martins Mannah further held a media briefing where he articulated his grievance against the Speaker.
The Lawmaker who was elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party said the Assembly only sits when the Governor permits.
“What are we always talking about self? We are here condemning the APC while we are yet to resolve our own problems.

“This 8th Assembly is the worst since the existence of Rivers state. This edifice we are in now was built by the former Governor of this State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi but we can’t even maintain it. See ‘spirogyra’ on the walls.
“Since 2015 we have not attended any seminar despite our resources. Even states that sell ordinary onions have sponsored seminars for their lawmakers’ oversees.
“Those of us who are here don’t know how to move motions and we call ourselves Lawmakers. And see, our time is almost over.
“I am telling you here that we don’t have any leadership in this House of Assembly. We don’t have a good Speaker.
“There are so many things going wrong and on that, I want to ask that the Speaker should tender his resignation if he knows he cannot do the right things,” he said.

Many times when i complain of Governor Wike's misrule in Rivers state, people would out of media hogwash and sometimes political party biasness spew tantruns. It may interest all to note that within few days of the so called PDP primaries for the illegal council elections to be conducted, lives have been lost, body parts maimed, and properties looted or damaged by same hoodlums he has always paraded. The security situation is tensed and degenerated to that of 2015 election as recorded Rivers state. Surprising, it is PDP against PDP.

Between 2007 - 2015 in Rivers state, the former governor, Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi successfully conducted three(3) council elections that were widely participated by several political parties with no noticeable violence recorded in any. In these elections conducted in Rivers state by the then governor, there were no anointed candidates as the electorate freely elected their choice representatives based on antecedent, credibility and popularity. Council chairmen were at liberty and delivered the dividend of democracy to the grassroots population of our dear state.

In the last administration, Rivers state recorded unprecedented growth in infrastructures, investments and security. Our institutions that was in state moribund were revitalised and rejuvenated. The youths were engaged in employment opportunities and kidnapping and other social vices was very reduced. Prior to 2015 Port Harcourt was the darling of Old and young and irrespective of gender. Oh my dear Rivers state.

I don't want to write about the number of schools built by Amaechi as a governor of Rivers state and how the then president Goodluck Jonathan in one of his visits to a public school built, furnished and equipped to international standard confessed that in his tours in all the public institutions of the country, he's never seen such a standard. The schools cuts across every community of the state.

I don't want to write about hospitals and primary health cares he scattered across the state. He equipped them to standard and the elder and children enjoyed free medical care.

I don't want write about his agricultural projects. Where're the fish farms established in various LGA's? where is our banana plantation? and etc. All these employed our youths and elderely

I don't want to write about RSSDA and oversee' scholarships and how our children have been recklessly abandoned by the governor

I still remember vividly the interactive and accountability sections enjoyed in the last administration. The interactive sections were devoid of class and intimidations but all were expected to be articulate as not defeat the purpose of such privilege.

Even as i yearn every day in my heart that this unending four(4) years of governor Wike reign in power should quickly come to an end, it beats my imaginations why it has to be Rivers state. What did we do to incur this wrath.

A concerned Rivers son.
