AgricultureRe: Pig Farmers Lets Meet Here by ty2001: 8:05pm On Oct 19, 2016
lagbaja:
Dear All
Please this lagbaja feed formulation of 2014,does it still hold or there are cheaper and better feed formulation out there.

This the is formula I adopt for my pigs (Modified for Amino Acid Balancing)

50% of cassava ( I buy them Fresh, break them into chips, dry and store them)
30% pkc
10% GNC( groundnut meal) or SBM (soyabean meal)
6% blood meal
2.5%. Oyster shell/bone meal/ lime stone
0.25% lysine
0.25% methionine
0.5% salt
0.25% premix
0.03% (3g per 1kg bakers Yeast) ( probiotic)
0.1% H-Plus from Animalcare

The above feed formulation will cost you about N30 per kilo. 1kg of live pig is sold for between N280 and N300. If your pig consumes 3kg of feed to give 1 kg of meat, It means that it will cost you N90 to produce 1kg of live weight. Therefore you make a gross margin of N300 - N90= N210.

The other component of pig farming that is capital intensive is their housing. Pig housing has to be properly planed according to the number of pigs you intend to grow. You need to decide whether you want to do batch (all in all out) or continuos pig production (first in first out).

The biggest pig farm in west Africa is at oke aro , Agege. Another one is at Gberigbe Ikorodu. Accomodation costs at this locations are very high. I will advice you to site your pig pen close to where you can get cheap land and source raw materials at low price. Eg cassava plantations.

Technology application will greatly hep you in your pig farming. Fr example using, pig ni.ppl.es (see picture below) will ensure that you deliver constant and clean water to your pigs , it will also reduce labor requirements. You also need to construct a manure allay within your pig house so that when they poo poo, you can flush it away via the manure allay ( the manure allay is like a gutter).

EducationRe: Nigeria Graduate Vs Foreign Graduate by ty2001: 9:08am On Aug 18, 2011
The truth is that we like leaving in self denial so also our leaders and that is why nothing has been done about the system as a whole.
EducationRe: Nigeria Graduate Vs Foreign Graduate by ty2001: 8:20am On Aug 18, 2011
Its very amazing how most of us reason and this goes a way to tell about you educational background,i worked in bank in nigeria for several years, how will somebody say Ngozi kill the banking sector, do you count the dead as part of the living, how many Nigerian banks are able to take on large ticket transaction especially financing large infrastructure development none, the 50 banks then were mostly rot and operating on paper only and there was no way the economy would grow that way.SA that is power house of Africa's economy have just 4 big banks and other thiny ones, we should be concern about quality not quantity.
Secondly, please do not be deceive to try to compare education in Nigeria with with ghana not to talk of countries in North Africa,SA, then the western world.
Guys take a look at our WAEC result over the last ten years or so they are as bad as our electricity or roads.A state of emergency should be immediately decleared in the educational system. Also A nigeria with just one year master is not really a foreign trained such just went to polish themselve, so compare like terms.A good educational system is one that does not really require you to go beyond your high school(secondary level) before you start contributing to your economy or countries,of what valuve is a secondary school student in nigeria today to the workforce none, most of our fathers or grand dad didnt go beyond standard 7 and secondary school but could work with the experience and training there after.Do we know that most oil companies and multinational dont employ nigeria bsc for entry level,  i saw an oil company advertising entry level jobs for nigeira and demanding phd, the least now for entry level is MSC when this same jobs are done by high school leaver on diploma student in other countries.people dont be deceive if you have the opportunity of sending yourchildren to school abroad please do most especially from bsc level  upward and lets pray the educational system is overhaul soonest and also stop leaving it pretence as if all is well it is not.

BusinessRe: CBN Imposes Limits, Penalty On Cash Transactions, Again! by ty2001: 5:56pm On Apr 29, 2011
I hope this Man is not on a mission of grinding down Nigeria Economy(i personally have not really shared some of his vision)The idea is a good development, you dont need to be a CBN governor to know we need to move to a cashless environment, it takes you just to have spent two days outside nigeria(in semi developed to developed countries) personally i think it would be a failed project again because the fundanmental are not right.I have worked several years in the Bank in the Nigeria, worked in a switching company and presently leave outside Nigeria(for now) i think what sanusi should focus on as CBN for now is work with other government parastal and priviate organisation to archieve:
1)Address verification and proper National identity for everyone:with this in place we know who is who, you cannt not commit crime and fraud you will be fished out almost immediately, including the rural areas(this will take on a minimum a year to archieve)
2)CCTV on almost every corner in Nigeria to combat crime and monitoring
3)ELECTRICITY must be provided on the mimimum 20 hours a day all over the country
4)we need great Telecommunication network accross Nigeria, thereby enhancing better internet connection
5)people need to be educated, conversant and assured with the use of POS,ATM etc
6)We need functional call centres privately own in various sector of the economy
the above is just a mimimum requirement that must be a place for POS to be accepted as alternative means of payment in Nigeria, because merchant need to be assured that the person swipping a card to make payment can be trace and tracked down in case of a transaction dispute, people need to trust own another that online payment can be secured ,meaning most people should have access to internet almost 24hours and the systems also needs to be online and not always down,so our telecoms needs to be at the world mimimum standard first, i think without putting all this basic in place first we are joking and it would be a failed project, there needs to be an incentive for the use of card and good online banking and card service is enjoyed with credit card not just debit card, so how many of our banks can offer full credit facility now when customer credit rating is done on account officers table based on what his church mind tells him(ask ecobank about credit card they will tell you how they were burnt).please SLS he is a joker with his date on a mimimum five from now.
PoliticsRe: Bride Abandons Wedding For Nnpc Test? (PIX) by ty2001: 12:43pm On Mar 28, 2011
Am so surprise that Nigerians thinks what she did was wrong or improper, i do not really share this.i will say kudos to the girl for this bold courage.Do you know how long she has been out of school without job,do you know her family background, do you know the condition of the husband's pocket ,A alot of questions we cannt answer about her,yet we are quick to stone her, have you thought of the risk nursing mothers that took their baby there took,God forbid imagine police throwing tear gas around to control crowd some of those kids can pass out, what of pregnant ladies some could have be  stampede while trying to enter, so all this is just the state of the nation and the need for us to really open our eyes and mind to vote the right choice, imagine people shuttling btw two states to write both PTDF and NNPC with bad roads in Nigeria,so lets not blame any of this group, thanks to God that there was no death but i sincerely think Govt is to be blame,no body is saying govt shld provide jobs but revive our educational system such that an SS3 graduate can think of what to do for himself/herself even without attending a university. In developed countries or even in south africa a matriculant (SS3 graduate) has adequate skill to enter the labour market and perform well, then you can imagine what it is to be a grauate, our curriculum should be revisited while our schools should be all put in place, if govt fulfill their in educational sectorthen the private sector will have no choice than to comply also, then we wouldnt have had such above occurrences.Nairalanders please shine your eyes to vote and protect your votes.God bless
PoliticsRe: Buhari’s Running Mate: Bakare Decides Today ! by ty2001: 6:00pm On Jan 31, 2011
Its amazing the way most of us reason and this call to doubt our intelligence. Most of us geniuely desire a change in the current outlook of Nigeria but when a credicle man of GOD or a man with intergrity rises up to contest election we start calling then names and discouraging then, who do we think we bring positive change to this country when we expect the qualify to just sit back and concentrate on their normal business, if pst Bakare or a good iman decide to contest we should be happy that GOD is bringing up men of intergrity to rule us, we cannt keep doing same thing over and over again and expect a change its not possible. Also we should learn to stop use foul words on others just because they dont share our thought on issues this amount to same killing happening everywhere in the country we should learn to be tolerant with each other.

CareerRe: Average Salary And Bonuses Of Investment Bankers In Nigeria. by ty2001: 8:02am On May 08, 2008
i work in one of Nigeria up coming big bank,i think for your qualification and experience you would most likely come in as a manager in any of the bank and the salary range across the industry for that postion is btw =N= 11,000,000-13,000,000/yr(45,000 --55,000 pounds per annum) you will be entitle to a Honda accord latest model(most banks),for some banks you will be entile to profit sharing.
But i think your driving force of coming back should be coming to add value,if you look at the money you will be disappointed at the end of the day,cos of inflation.you can try banks like IBTC-stanbic,GTBank,Zenith.
I also believe some of these investment houses pays better than banks,so u might get investment house offering you btw 50,000 --- 70,000 pounds per yr.

Good luck!
