Oh thats simple, however with no guarantees that both will be a match for each other. State of internal resistance, sulfation levels, electrolyte conditions may permanently defer and cannot be regained to give best results in a paired condition. The batteries were not exposed to exactly the same situations so may not have same performance levels even if they are both the same product. Batteries in the same bank experience such differences not to talk of differently used batteries or different product batteries.

I suggest you charge each battery individually till 100% state of charge before pairing them. Alternatively, deplete each battery to the same depth of discharge then pair.

I prefer you buy new ones of 100AH and a month or 2 later increase your bank.

@bolded, yh right, but thing is iv already gotten a preowned 200Ah batt, the batt gave me a reading of 13.5V on full charge wen i tested it with a multimeter, iv used it for almost a month nw and its been perfect. Now, i dcided to add one more 200Ah batt to the setup for longer backup, so i met the same dude i bot the previous one from and he brings me a 200Ah batt from the same power bank that the first one came from, same product, but this one reads 13.6V on the multimeter as against the 13.5V of the previous one. So there's no way iam shelling out cash to get new batts again after spending cash on these ones, dats ruled out. I jst want to know the best way to connect these two togeda without causing problems for each of dem. Iv tot about wat u said sha, charging both of dem to full or discharging dem equally..

I concur! Check OP's profile, u'll see he has been advertising this same Tv for over 2yrs now! Different adverts. I insist he's up to somtin. He doesnt even own this Tv else he wuldv atleast included the model number. The Mods shuld give him a permanent ban!

This has nothing to do with wat iam asking. I knw how to connect batteries in parallel or series. Or maybe the response isnt for me.
Iam interested in how to equalize and connect two 200ah batts in parallel to my 12v inverter without causing harm to the batts due to overcharging or undercharging of either of dem..

Get something similar to a charge over switch to alternative the battery and use one at a time,
That way, you discharge them and recharge them separately,
Like I said before,
The capacity/resistance of the batteries now differs!
And can't be used together,
As it would shorten both batteries life!

Note that:
When changing/switching batteries always have your inver switched off! No sudden/sharp movement in dc side,
It can be expensive

It would be nice if you could build a circuit to hand both separately,
By using on battery at a time and also charging one battery at a time,

The reason is that,
Your first battery would have less capacity than your second.

For the analysis we would use the water can experiment,
For example,
At charging,
you have a big can and small can,
When you pour water into them at same rate the smaller one get filled, while the big one get partly filled,
Since they are both connected together,
At idle mode when not in use,
The big one would try to equate the small one by forcing more water into the small one making it to overflow or energy loss.
At discharging time,
When you pour out both at same rate, its obvious the small one would finish first,
But it doesn't end there,
The big one begins to supply/charge the small one and supplying power at same time.

In conclusion,
You would be killing the bigger battery during discharge, and killing smaller battery during recharge,

This is just my view though!
I stand corrected in this though

A 2.4Kva inverter is usually 24V DC input, dat means two batteries. U CANT use one 200Ah on ur inverter. So its either u get two 100Ah batts or wait till u get a second batt before u can start using it.

So iam getting a 2nd pre-owned 200Ah Batt, the first one is very good, it read 13.5V on my multimeter, must i get an identical reading on the 2nd batt? I Mean to prevent bottlenecking d 1st one. Since they hav to be equalized. Plus, if say the 1st has 50% charge power and the 2nd one has 100% charge power, is it ok to go ahead n connect dem 2geda?in parrallel..

1 12v 200Ah Gel battery Dekar Solar made in USA. The inverter is 1.2Kva Mercury.

My area has very good electricity supply, power cuts are usually for 10 - 30 mins or cummulatively 2hrs of 24hrs. Atleast we boast of 22hrs a day except when there is a fault locally or on the Nationsl grid.

My battery show signs of bulging which is an indicator for overcharging. I blame my inverter for that.

Iam just surprised u culd get out upto 12hrs from one 200Ah batt, iam wondering wat loads u use on it, abi is it jst a fan and a bulb? Or its cos its a Gel batt? I get like 7-8hrs straight on my 200Ah batt with 1 Ceiling fan, 1 LED 32" Tv, 1 Home Theatre, about 2 11Watts bulbs, Playstation 4, laptop and a couple of fons charging. Dunno if dats normal esp seeing that the Playstation 4 alone is 120Watts wen the GPU picks up for gaming. Aldou if am using the Gotv witout d Playstation4, it lasts way longer, cant really tell hw long sha. Wat loads do u put on urs?
You are lucky to have upto 22hrs of power frm NEPA, on a normal day i get like 3hrs a day, max 7hrs a day, which brings me to wat i wanna ask nw, my batt hardly gets full cos of this Nepa wahala, somtimes i jst use my Gen to boost it up, will dis hav a negative effect on d batt over time?

I have been worried since yesterday after a heavy windy storm. Electricity was not restored and i was sure its going to be for the night if worst for a day or 2.

Usually we begin load shedding on the inverter which we did from around 4pm, by 11pm the family had settled in and i just had my shower, the inverter low battery alarm buzzed when i switched the TV and fan in the sitting room. WTF i told my self since i saw 4 full bars like 20mins ago and the inverter usually takes us atleast through the night. I checked and saw 2 bars. Another WTF, since it normally sounds the alarm when the last of 4 bars is gone.

It down on me that my battery is about to give up the ghost. I cant remember the last time i spent money on fueling generator and it downed on me i am soon going to start that else i have to produce 120k for a new battery.

I feel like my mecury inverter mismanaged the battery probably from a low DoD or bad charging. I noticed the bulge on the batterh casing a while back but didnt think the battery will go down so soon.

I used to get at least 12hrs even with heavy usage, now its just 7 with minimal load.

Anyways, i am grateful for the almost 2years it served me. Note that the battery wasnt purchased new, in fact it cost just 15k to get it then.

Pls wats the capacity of ur battery bank? and wen u say "heavy usuage", wat loads are u tlking about here?

There is one more thing however.

Inverter batteries are not supposed to be discharged to 0% state of charge. That will damage the batteries. So intelligent inverters/chargers will only deplete to say 20, 30 or whatever is the preset. Some inverters have user adjustable discharge selecetor.

My point is that, theoritecally, a 200AH battery will not be completely discharged of its 200Ah charge. So a balance of say 30% should be left unusable. That means a charging time for a battery discharged to 70% of its charge should recharge in 16hrs 40 mins less 30% of the time.

This should be, 11hrs 40 mins if my calculations are correct.

Now, even after the 11hrs 40mins, a normal inverter of charger should not show full charge because the charge should be a 2, 3 or 4 stage charger. This means that jf the inverter was charging at 12A, after 11hrs plus of charging at thks voltage should go to the 2nd stage of charging, then 3rd then 4th. Each stage leads to a drop in voltage. It could mean that buy 90% state of charge the inverter or charger should slow down charging. This stage will add to the initial time if the battery were to charge at constant rateof 12A. Asuuming the final 4th stage is charged at 2A and the state of charge is 95%. 95% state of charge may be say 190AH. The remaining 10Ah will a 2A charge will take 5hrs.

In essense, the apparent charging time is far higher than calculated for these obvious reasons and more. More could be temperature and other factors affecting charging time.

This is not from a text book but from my experience and knowledge.

So, pls check the pic i posted above, by switching the charging current to HIGH, i guess iv bypassed the multiple stage charging system, rite? Aldou i believe this isn't good for the batt.

Quick calculations:
Charge time = Battery AH ÷ Charging Current
In your case:
Charge time = 200AH ÷ 12A
Charge time = 16.67 hours.
Charge time = 16 hours and 40 minutes.

My inverter has a Charge Voltage & Current selection at the rear, it has a "Steady" and "High" setting, its currently on Steady as it came wen i got it. On the manual, it says it can be adjusted based on the battery spec. Will it decrease the charge time if i set then to High? Plus, wats d possible effect on my batt? I plan to set it to High once in a while dou, nt all d time. Here's a pic wit d selection switch circled in red...

Guys, my 200Ah Deep Cycle has been charging for more than 10hrs now and the Inverter(Microtek 1.1Kva) hasnt still indicated battery full till now. Does it take that long to charge up a battery normally? For an inverter that has 12amps charging current...
