When the President was reading his Independent Day Speech yesterday, I waited patiently for the part where he would take time to address the issue of insecurity and what they will do to tackle it.

Guess what?

He didn't say anything about insecurity despite that long speech. He didn't even sympathize with families that have lost their loved ones to terrorists and those who are still held captive. Well, what does he care! Somebody that is cruizing in bulletproof cars, with armed security.

I understand that there was insecurity before Tinubu came into power but nothing close to what we are experiencing now.

If government cannot give us light, they cannot give us road, they cannot give us good healthcare, they cannot make food items cheap, can they at least, ensure our safety, which is their major resposibility?

We've been avoiding road trips to stay safe but we are not even safe in our houses anymore. 😭😭😭

I sincerely don't have anything against Tinubu and APC. I will gladly support any leader that is competent irrespective of tribe, party or religion. I don't really care, I just want Nigeria to be okay.

But I cannot support this government because they don't have the solution to our problems. They are unbothered about our wellbeing.

They have no idea what we are going through.

They have food to eat, they fly abroad for medical checkup, they have 24 hours light in their residences, they have enough money in their accounts. They even move around with heavy security protocols.

They can't relate to how scared and hungry we are.

If they should return to office again, everybody go collect.

By now, every adult Nigerian has either narrowly escaped kidnap, been kidnapped or knows someone that has been kidnapped or unalived by terrorists. This thing is closing in fa. Is this how everyone will fold their hands till death comes knocking? 😭

We don't have to wait until Nigeria happens to us or our loved ones. Those it has happened to didn't know it will ever reach them.

A few days ago, the FCT Minister, Wike, was bragging on National TV that he will deliver FCT and Rivers to Tinubu in 2027. In fact, he said Tinubu should remove him from minister if APC does not win FCT and Rivers in 2027. Imagine such arrogance!

How can someone who has only one vote be so sure that only him will determine the winner of an election that millions of people will participate in if not because these people don see us finish?
Time don reach to show these our leaders say na we the electorates get power and not them. Na we dem dey represent for office.

We cannot confront the government, but we have the power to vote them out, vote for the right persons and DEFEND OUR VOTES.
Yes, our votes will count if we want it to. Everything dey our hand. Na unity just remain for us.

Please, for the sake of our children, I beg you, don't vote these people back into office. Abeg 🙏
