Work permit & PR applications?? If you are eligible for PR, why waste the application fees for the ‘open work permit’ . As a PR of canada you don’t need any work permit whether open or closed work permit .

I know right and I understand you but , PR takes one year , so we just did that so atleast I can be there before the PR is approved, the distance is not easy, that was why we did it...

Good morning, please I need your advise on what to do, my husband is based in Canada and a permanent resident, am still in Nigeria we got married in December 2020 and immediately he applied for open work permit for me in dec 24th did biometrics in 29th dec 2020 which has been updated, in feb 6th 2021 I got a mail that they received my application in dec 24th 2020 , but up till now there have been no progress on my application , I have not being asked to do medical and it’s 5month already since I applied that’s about 20weeks , there has been no update on my application, please nairalanders what do you think I should , although I sent a mail to them and I was told to mail Kenya and that’s why my file is which I did yesterday but yet to get a response , I told my husband that I should do an upfront medical but he said I should wait for them to ask me to do it , checked processing time as at yesterday it was 32weeks now , my application has stayed 20weeks , do my husband need to send a message to them that he needs family support or how do we do this because I need to join my spouse thank you so much hope to hear from you all thanks
