Yes, one can be a citizen by marriage. And she is legally "eligible" to be Edo First Lady.
However, one can only hold elected office in Nigeria via citizenship by birth. Thus, if she has any plans of running for office, she should bury such thoughts.

There's really not much basis for comparison as they have lived long in the UK to understand the twists and turns of the economy and the topography of the land.
