Just got back in the domain game.
Curious if/how anyone is using AI/Claude for domain research.
Created a Claude project to analyze some industry trends and it gave some great options I never would have thought of.
This is also a great way to aggregate news and articles without spending hours daily.
I probably can take it to the next level by uploading csv data of previous sales in the past 3/5 years so Claude knows what sells.
What do you guys think?
Btw I was able to register 4 names, 96% of the names were already registered so I guess Claude did a great job.

Obviously yes. Your domain is 3 letters or characters shorter which is good. But targeting one customer only is risky if he doesn't see the value in the shorter version when you make your offer to him.

At times, it's good to take risks.

This month I received many "how much" inquiry which they later ghost.

This particular name was listed for 1,250 at atom but when I received an email of asking price I quoted 500 assumed he will ghost like others but asked me for how to pay, that he preferred Godaddy, that's how I became sad suddenly because similar name sold for over $3k. (Certified Roofing Specialists .com)

In summary I undersold it and this is the only name I've regretted underselling and felt it.

Yes. Even spaceship and other registrars. But they normally ask the seller. And it may take like a week before they ask for push. I pushed a domain at Spaceship to them.

Frankly speaking, i don't think people sell domains again. I outbounded on my 7 names thrice in 3 weeks now, yet no sales. The business is not a viable one at all. I have been doing kindle publishing but having hard time to find a mentor. Go into kdp or YouTube (they're the only easy way to make consistent money online in Nigeria)

Selling domains is still profitable provided you buy good names and most importantly willing to take risks.

Yesterday Sales. I bought this domain late last year, knowing it was a gamble. It had only one real end user, so I knew from the start it wouldn’t be a fast flip.

After the purchase, I reached out directly to the end user. They replied once, basically saying:"Not interested. I’m fine with the domain I’m already using."

After some time (and no bites), I dropped the BIN to $500, just to stay realistic based on the length and niche nature of the name.

A few weeks ago, someone made a $100 offer. I didn’t accept. Instead, I told Afternic to push back at $300, which was still within striking range of my BIN. After some back and forth with the buyer, we finally landed at $200.

Domains like DentistNearMe. com don’t create traffic by themselves but they capture traffic that’s already happening.

Thousands of people search “dentist near me” every month. A domain like this matches exactly what people are typing into Google. That makes it easier to rank, cheaper to advertise, and more likely to be clicked on.

Think of it like a premium storefront on a busy street people are already walking by. The name just makes it easier for them to find you.

Maybe he doesn't understand how Listing works or Domain in general

Tell him you listed in Different market place for more exposure and generally for buyers convenience

Also tell him the registrar you used, if possible proof of the domain in your portfolio
