For H sake, more than a year and recruitment is not yet concluded. This made me drop the ball for Chevron honestly. Used to respect them a lot, not so much lately

Because you didn't know and nobody posted it on nairaland doesn't mean people were not called. On the day of my interview, I was surprised when the woman said they are interviewing over 40 candidates meanwhile on nairaland, you can count the number of people that were invited for my position. I doubt if there is any outstanding role. All interview were concluded July 31/August 1. Just my opinion anyways and the HR said something like that too. Don't quote me o, I am just thinking aloud

Yes, same behavioral but with upper management. I think the main aim of the recruitment is to convert contract staff to direct staff. In any role that contract staffs are participating, they have Upper hand.
Moreover, the fear of Seplat is the beginning of wisdom for ExxonMobil. Since ExxonMobil sold shallow water assets to Seplat, Seplat has been on the prawl of ExxonMobil guys enticing them with juicy offers and those ExxonMobil guys are joining Seplat. Yes, you are correct. Four people out of twenty interviewed yesterday had their second round today.
For those that had their First interview today, the successful ones will have 2nd round tomorrow.

they need more than one for this role so some other folks who interviewed first stage today will also have second stage tomorrow..

Another issue is that most of us like looking out for major IOCs while neglecting smaller companies that are doing well and also paying well. I remembered getting my first offshore via nairaland.com. Most people that day in the comment section were screaming scam up and down, I just applied and was expecting the worst to happen. Only for me to be interviewed and I landed offshore. Some salaries were paid in dollar as at that time. What am I saying, don't despite small companies. Because you dont know them doesn't mean they are not good. There are many oil and gas producing companies doing well and paying very well. I was with them till they left Nigeria. Let's always be on the lookout for small companies too.

To all the young ones in this forum.. if you can and you have the means Japa early to countries that have the best opportunities for young graduates with competitive salaries. The competition for the high paying jobs is thick. The number of candidates applying for these roles overwhelmingly outweighs the number of positions available.

Its a sad reality. Do not make the mistake of waiting and solely hoping "only" for a high paying IOC job in Nigeria..there are numerous opportunities outside of this country beyond the spheres of oil and gas.

Any update regarding Process Technician.

In as much as you are correct, the advert states that you should have some level of experience. The operator role is minimum of 3years maximum of 10years or so. Meaning the job role needs a minimal level of experience. I have had the opportunity to attend operator interview NOT chevron, P&ID questions and separator questions will always come up. Remember your intended Supervisor, Supretendent or even OIM will be among the interview panel. They will ask technical questions. The difference between the person that will be called two days after interview and the person that will be on waiting list is how you answer the questions asked by your line manager. Imagine answering behavioural and situational questions very well and you don't know what you will be do incase of high level in surge drum. No line manager will approve your employment

While these questions are likely. The pattern of the questions is what is unlikely. Anyone who has done interviews lately will attest to the fact that most questions asked are likely behavioral and situational and requires impromptu thinking

I think the last three questions will determine who they will employ.

P&ID is a major document an operator needs to function and the interpretation is very important to the job function.

Any one that also answer that breaking of flange question wrongly is gone. If you break a flange wrongly, you can expose an asset to a hazardous situation.

Either way, anybody that works in oil and gas as an operator will agree that those question are likely questions.

Irregardless of the argument for or against the interview invitation, those questions are close to what can be asked in an operator interview

What is PPE , and mention the basic examples of PPE
what's operator routine duties and why is it important
What's HUEST and BOSIET in offshore
What's P&ID, and what are the scenarios that can make you use it
What is zero energy state of an equipment and how can you achieve that
What are the precaution to do before breaking a flange containing oil and gas

Ten questions in total, but I cannot remember the last 3 questions
It is chevron from what the guy said(agbami deep water)

From your point of view, the test is to convert contract staffs then because this is what came out verbertim. Anybody that has this your setup needs not to worry. Nah you big ko!

The skill test was written on the 18th of March 2025, the same day Operators wrote their first skill test. I don't know if they have done the interview but I am sure of the skill test.

It's Field based questions. If you are experienced in your field, i don't think it will be difficult. Just relax your mind but not aptitude test. It's real life scenarios and what you will do in those scenarios. Example; what will you do if there is a power outage to a solenoid. Things like that. How to troubleshoot and carry out diagnosis of electrical components

These are the fall out of local content. Nigerian companies are fond of owing debt while their CEO keep donating money up and down to show off. GHL has lifted crude from that facility but their Nigerian way of doing business won't allow them service their loan. Local content is a curse to Nigerian oil and gas industry

This chopper in question was a six seater chopper and more of chartered chopper and not a commercial chopper. The minister needs to provide further information on why an executive chopper is used to convey offshore worker particularly NNPC offshore fields. Who approved that chopper? The likes of Bristow and Caverton helicopters are there but no, they won't use them. Now they have killed innocent young Nigerians due to their greed. God dey!
