This evening Israeli fighter jets and attack helicopters launched strikes, on multiple Hezbollah sites across southern Lebanon, according to the IDF. Among the targets were a Hezbollah weapons depot in Jebbayn, as well as buildings used by the group in Ayta ash-Shab and Mays al-Jabal, the military reports.,

Israeli officials arrived in Cairo today to negotiate disputes over the Philadelphi Corridor. Here's an overview of why this Corridor is so significant to the talks: The Philadelphi Corridor runs between the border of Gaza and Egypt and was established during Oslo to prevent smuggling between Egypt and Gaza. Hamas has built tunnels across the border to replenish and smuggle weapons, and unless the tunnels are blocked, Hamas could rebuild its military capabilities after the war. Some of these tunnels are so large that Hamas can smuggle entire trucks through them. Hamas wants Israel to withdraw so they can continue waging war, but Israel wants to maintain security to ensure October 7th won't be repeated. This is why the corridor is such a critical issue in the ceasefire negotiations. (Hen Mazzig on X)

WSJ: Hostage deal update: The US is trying to achieve a compromise by having a reduced IDF force in the Philadelphi corridor, but Egypt is refusing to have any IDF force there at all. Egypt is asking for American guarantees that even if "Israel" leaves the Philadelphi Corridor in the first phase of any agreement, it will not return in subsequent phases if the process collapses. The Israeli airstrike on a Yemeni port last month obliterated 33 oil storage tanks holding up to 40,000 tons of oil and destroyed two cranes.
