Career › 3 Reasons Why you should drop out from school by uprof(op):
These are the reasons why I beg to
disagree the notion of going to school

1. Most of what is being taught in our
Nigerian universities today are out-dated.
You think I’m bluffing? When you go for
your next lecture, ask your professor to
show you his lecture notes (don’t say I
sent you oh!) and you’ll quickly notice
that the notes are worn out with age and
have turned brown indicating that the
same information has been dished out to
not less than 15 previous sets when we
live in a world that is rapidly changing.
2. The labor market and the real world
emphasizes soft skills and experience about
educational qualifications.
The world has changed and while a
certificate might be a prerequisite for
getting a job in a lot of fields like
Medicine. It does not guarantee you a
job. I’ll leave the experts with the
outrageous statistics to tell you more.
If a certificate is akin to employment,
why are most Nigerian graduates
roaming the streets jobless?Even if you are visit any job website you’ll notice
that more than 70% of available jobs
require minimum of three years
experience.
If our Nigerian schools gave you all you
need, then why should an employer seek
additional experience?
Not to talk of the fact that schools do not
teach practical soft skills like
interpersonal skills which are highly
sought for in the labor market.
“I naively chose a college that
was almost as expensive as
Stanford, and all of my
working-class parents’
savings were being spent on
my college tuition. After six
months I couldn’t see the
value in it. I had no idea what
I wanted to do with my life
and no idea how college was
going to help me figure it
out.” – Steve Jobs
3. A good number of successful and
renowned people in the world today were
either drop-outs or never went to college.
The likes of Bill Gates, Thomas Edison,
Mark Zuckerberg, Richard Branson,
Michael Dell, Henry Ford, Steve Jobs, Orji
Uzo Kalu, and many more top the list .
We sing their quotes everyday in our
motivational talks but we forget that
these daring men valued education more
than they did school.
Suli Breaks testifies to these truths in his
video that went viral, even though he
graduated among the tops of his class in
college.
Business › 7 Viable Criteria For Effective Market Segmentation by uprof(op): 6:18am On Jan 15, 2016
Since market are heterogeneous, that Is they contain consumers and potential buyers with differs characteristics. This is because consumers are differ in their tastes, desires, level of income and preferences. It is therefore germane to find a means of dividing them into different segment so as to target them with a distinct marketing mix. However, before a market can be segmented, there are seven distinct conditions a marketer must take cognizance of. These are:
1.Identification: the different characteristics exhibited by consumers for a product must be identify or known
2.measurability: the consumer characteristics identifed must be clearly known
3.Substantiality: the consumers exhibiting similar characteristics must be large enough for profitable marketing cutilvation
4.Appropriateness: marketing opportunities in the segment should be in line with the company resources and should be profitable
5.Accessibility: the variable or characteristics should make then segment accessible to marketers.
6.Consumer sensitivity: If it is discovered that the buyers are very sensitive to the changes in the product, either real or imagined,it would be preferred to pursue a product differentiation strategy.
7.Company's resources. If a firm has limited resources to allow for complete coverage of the market, the firm's only choice is concentrated marketing

Career › 4reasons Why Your Take Home Can Never Take You Halfway Home by uprof(op): 10:32pm On Jan 14, 2016
Divide your SALARY by 30 days and see what you get (i.e. the number of days in a month and see the funny thing about your salary plan).
for instance
(1) An average level-12 worker in the state government civil service earns NGN 60,000.**** And this translates to NGN 60,000÷30= NGN 2,000 everyday. This is LESS THAN the amount made daily by an ADEJARE HAWKER in the city.
(2) A freshly EMPLOYED GRADUATE BANKER in most NIGERIAN BANKS earns an average of NGN120,000 monthly.
***So everyday, you get NGN120,000÷30= NGN4,000 as the daily value for your work-life. By implication, this is LESS THAN the amount earned DAILY by an AVERAGE DRIVER in d city and in some villages.....
(3) If you are a FRESH GRADUATE EMPLOYEE in some oil companies, you earn an average of NGN300,000 monthly. So in a day your WORK-VALUE is NGN300,000 ÷ 30= NGN10,000
**** This is LESS THAN the daily amount earned by an IRRIGATION FARMER supplying vegetables to Lagos MARKETS, a TIPPER CAR DRIVER supplying sand for three BLOCK INDUSTRIES and CONSTRUCTION SITES just 3 times a day and DRIVERS of DANGOTE TRUCKS who have bought off the trucks at scrap value and are using them to convey products between villages and the cities for just five business owners.
--------->>>HOPE BY NOW, IT IS SINKING IN, RIGHT?
And when there is an ISSUE in the FAMILY that requires FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, the DRIVERS, HAWKERS and the rest are looking up to you with a WHITE COLLAR JOB.
(4) If you are an NYSC MEMBER, you DON'T need to be told that: **NGN19,800÷30 = NGN 660 is your worth on a daily basis.
I hope you know that PURE WATER SELLERS who own a shop, a pepper soup joint and a small TOYOTA COROLLA car to distribute pure water to five restaurants earn MORE THAN you & WHEEL-
BARROW PUSHERS working on contract for three warehouses probably make MORE MONEY than you EACH DAY............
We shouldn't end at satisfactions from these earnings. We should be more proactive, create room for more income and strive to diversify our streams of income.
The earlier you wake up and smell the coffee, the better for you......
I know of someone right now who will say this is too ideal to be true but take your time and do this analysis over and over again, and you will grasp the crux!!! STOP waiting for the Government to feed you, feed yourself and help the Government feed others. That is where we are in this age.
DO have an Entrepreneurialweek ahead!!!

Career › Your Future Is At Risk, Behold!!!!! by uprof(op): 9:51am On Jan 14, 2016
Must you limit yourself? Does Classroom Guarantees Success?
Being top of your class is a good achievement anyway.. But does that necessarily guarantees that
you will be at the top of life.?
If that is your notion? your life is at risk..caution!!
Or if You could graduate as the best computer science student, does that mean you will be the next bill gate
The best graduating medical student does not
necessarily become the best Doctor. The best
student in Marketing does not Guarantee
best Marketer.Have seen an historian alongside his team, programing a promotional network Keettu.com that can promote your interest 50%faster than Facebook, twitter etc.
So why are u endangering you future by setting limit for yourself?
The fact is life requires more than the ability to
understand a concept, memorize it and
reproduce it in an exam.
School rewards people for their memory, life
rewards people for their imagination. School
rewards caution, life rewards daring. School hails
those who live by the rules, life exalts those who
break the rules and set new ones. So do I mean
people shouldn't study hard in school? Oh no!!!
you should. But don't sacrifice every other thing
on the altar of First Class. Don't limit yourself to
the classroom.
Do something practical and radical; take a
leadership position. Start a business and fail,
that's a better. Attend a seminar, Read books
outside the scope of your course. Think without
the box if you must ever think. Go on missions
and win a soul for eternal rewards...
Do something you believe in! Think less of
becoming an excellent student but think more of
becoming an excellent person. Make the world
your classroom! Don't make the classroom your world. And your future shall be secure
