It is quite unfortunate that billions of people all over the world still don't know, in practical sense, the difference between the industrial age and the information age. As the saying goes: when people have no sense of history, history will repeat itself and this time in a different way. The Education system play major roles in reshaping the society through sound and recent information. However, this system which the majority believe to be the best still finds it difficult to cope with the present needs of the society which is now causing great financial disaster than ever before. Graduates are no longer secure after graduation and parents are still recruiting their children even much earlier to the defective system without questioning its designers. These innocent graduates after Serving their Nation keep looking for non existing job security. Instead of pursing financial independence which, in actual fact, they were not taught how to get while in school. These innocent graduates never knew that the old mantra of going to school, get a good grade and get a highly paid job is no longer realistic in the real world. They find it difficult to admit that the ongoing educational system cannot solve their financial problem. Whether they like it or not. The industrial age has come with vast development through World-Wide-Web,microchips,Artificial intelligence among others. These have made production of ideas more important than mere working for money. The ignorance of thr aforementioned facts have made unemployment inevitable to those who learn what machines can do more perfectly. Also in the information age the prices of labors are becoming cheaper than never before. Remote jobs are now available all over the globe. The world is flat 3.0(A Brief History of the 21st century) by Thoma's Friedman still linger in my memory. The reality of his research is already in My country where recruitment agents recruit cheap labor for Europe, Asian, and others at a price which they cannot be got in their home continent. So Sad! Lesson: Know your purpose of going to school. If the purpose is to use your certificate to make money by working for people, you are scammed already. If you are already in the system It is high time you changed that old mantra before u wake up to the existing reality. If yours is to be financially independent, look beyond the education provided in schools because Education is not limited to the classroom. That is what money Affairs is set out to do for you. The World Poverty Clock has revealed that 91,885,874 people in Nigeria now live in extreme poverty. According to the World Bank, a person can be said to be living in extreme poverty if they live below the poverty line of $1.90 which translates to N693.5 per day at the time of releasing this information. In June 2018, the World Poverty Clock had named Nigeria the poverty capital of the world with statistics showing 87 million people live in poverty. The latest numbers indicate that since June 2018, four million Nigerians have joined the poverty club occasioned by factors such as unemployment, insecurity, among others. Money Affairs is not interested in knowing whether you accept or reject the publication. Let the reality speak for you. What concerns Money Affairs is to equip you with unconventional wisdom about money One important thing I have identified in my research on one fundamental thing that take people out of poverty is the proper knowledge about money which is known as Financial Education. It takes wisdom to accept that it doesn't take money to make money. It takes financial Education to make money. The concept of financial education is so broad in scope that it can't be discussed in one article or videos that will be released as from January 2020. However, the failure of the world education system to provide such important education has made financial crises inevitable. The middle class and the poor will definitely be the major victims of this financial crisis. Therefore,as we approach 2020, this channel is set out to equip you with unconventional financial Wisdom that can get you out of the RAT RACE and start participating on the FAST TRACK. What you've never been told in the school will be revealed to you through this channel. My distinguished Africans at home and in diaspora. Permit me to present this piece before you this beautiful morning as part of my own contribution to the development of Africa. My submission goes thus: Over fifty years of Independence of most countries in Africa, the most critical challenge confronting Africa appears to be bad leadership and docile followership. Research has shown that a cow in Europe is better than a man in the third world(Africa) because a cow in Europe is fed with 2 dollars per day while a man in Africa lives on less than two dollars per day. Let me say in furtherance that the world Bank benchmark is that any body who lives on less than 2 dollars per day is poor and over 70 pecent of people in Africa live on less than 2 dollars per day. This is tragic, nasty, and brutish. With a few to fighting this misdemeanors, African academics need to be proactive in their efforts to take the lead for a better Africa and better Nigerian which is my constituency. This is not to say that African has never had or produced great leaders and scholars. Indeed! we have produced the likes of Kwame Nkrumah,Nelson Mandela,Patrice lumunba ,Julius Nyerere,Jomo Kenyatta, sir Amodu Bello, Halie Selassie, Obafemi Awolowo, Pa Ajashin, Obaro Ikimi( a renowned historian) J.F Ade Ajayi, Tekena Tamuno, Taisolarin, Wole Soyinka, Achebe, late Gani Faweyinmi, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, the list is endless. These people are intellectuals in their own right. However, the contemporary African academics have failed to complement the efforts of these intellectuals. This malady which has not been taken too seriously by the contemporary African academics have made the society to be wallowing in acute poverty and descending down the abyss in every four years of balloting. If truly the role of an academic is to pursue the truth and use his findings to solve societal problems. In this regard, a contemporary African scholar has failed. This failure has put great impediment to the progress of Africa because society will not progress where there is a great disconnect between the town and the gown. African academics should not be too comfortable in the lecture room or laboratory theorizing. They have to go beyond that because a beautiful research piece kept on the shelf is of no use if society could not feel the impact of such research. Followers should be infused with information. They should be reminded of history so that history will not repeat itself. They should know where they are coming from and the path the should follow. Series of programs should be written by the academics to sensitize the masses. The media should be adequately explored for meaningful revolution Every Political scientist, historian, lawyer,Doctor, engineer, etc.,should be ready for societal transformation. Our society is in dire need of leadership that is devoid of mediocrity, nepotism, and tribalism. The so called dynasty need to be jettison into political oblivion. I'm not saying that every academic should go into politics but every academic should be actively involved in the transformation outside of the classroom. It is quite unfortunate that a typical African academic is underrated in the society. This Is as a result of the failure of the academics to solve basic societal problems. If university of Ibadan cannot supply the neighborhood constant electricity,If university of Lagos can't produce water for her immediate community; and if streetlights, bridges on campus are being contracted out ,then how will the society beckon on them to solve their problems when needs arise. This is a stack reality telling us in the face. Finally,I want to use this medium to call for a very strong romance between the town and the gown so that we can have an Africa of our dream and also a better Nigeria. Long live Africa! Long live Nigeria! Thank you for reading my piece |

Most things you need for your journey to
greatness can't be learned in the classroom.
Some of these skills are available on the street.
Your ability to combine your classroom experience
with experience from the street can go along way
in taking you from obscurity to prominence.
Please don't misconceive my verdict. I'm not
saying that formal education is unimportant.
What I'm emphasizing here is that informal
education is equally important in your journey to
stardom.
From my research I have learned that most
Nigerian graduates feel insecure after completing
their so called NYSC. Regardless of the University
they graduated from. The stories are the same
everywhere in Nigeria.
Why this fear of insecurity?
1. Over reliance on formal education
2. Little or no practical experience
2. This little or no practical experience has
brought about wide gap between being educated
and being credentials.
3. Little or no entrepreneurial skills
4. Devaluation of Nigeria degrees in the labour
market like Naira to Dollar scenario in the Forex
market.
And lots of other things that have not been
mentioned.
My distinguished brothers and sisters, I don't
want to believe that the brand of education we
receive in Nigeria is a big scam!
But what I see on a daily basis is making such
insinuation to be somewhat true.
If that is the case, pls let work together to
advocate for quality education that is devoid of
any iota of scam.
Could you imagine if the experience a common
man had in the university which led to the award
Bsc certificate cannot cater for his basic of life.
Then who is that advising him to go for MSC and
PhD.
This seems to be another scam!
Nothing is wrong with education ! But so many
things are wrong with Nigerian brand of
education. |

Mr Ben Okafo: which of these expressions is correct? Can I have a coffee? Can I have a cup of coffee? Facenglish: The coffee in question is an uncountable noun which doesn't take article " a" or "an". However, there are exceptions, most especially when drinks such as coffee, tea, beer, water, etc. are involved. For instance,we can say "can I have a coffee", to refer to a cup or glass of that drink. if language is not correct, then what is said is not what is meant; if what is said is not what is meant, then what must be done remains undone; if this remains undone, morals and art will deteriorate; if justice goes astray, the people will stand about in helpless confusion. Hence there must be no arbitrariness in what is said. This matters above everything". Confucius Speak impeccable English https://facenglish./2018/02/06/11/

Using the word READY-MADE to describe clothes that are made in standard sizes rather than being made specially to fit a particular person is OLD-FASHIONED e.g a ready-made suit The standard words that can be used in this regard are READY-TO-WEAR,OFF-THE-PEG,etc. e.g i) This winter's ready-to-wear collections from top designers are quite expensive. ii) Virtually all businessmen prefer buying ready-to-wear suits to made-to-measure. iii)It was only a cheap suit, bought off-the-peg.
