Economic Maestro, Tinubu Puts Nigerian Economy on Dead Reckoning with N187 Trillion Debt
Once upon a time, in the bustling, ever-dramatic land of Nigeria, where reality often feels like a satirical novel gone rogue, there emerged an economic maestro—none other than T-pain a.k.a Tinubu. With the finesse of a magician pulling rabbits out of an empty hat, Tinubu has managed to achieve what many thought impossible: doubling Nigeria’s debt to a jaw-dropping N187 trillion in just over a year. No fuel subsidy, no magic oil price boom, just pure, undiluted economic wizardry.
Let’s take a stroll down debt lane, shall we?
In the beginning, there was Goodluck Jonathan, affectionately dubbed the “clueless” one. His crime? Leaving Nigeria with a modest debt of N12 trillion while generously sprinkling fuel subsidy like confetti at a wedding. He believed in keeping fuel prices bearable, even if it meant borrowing a little here, a little there. But of course, Nigerians wanted more. They craved vision, competence, and—most importantly—change. Enter Muhammadu Buhari, the man with the charisma of a concrete slab but the promises of a motivational speaker on steroids.
Buhari, hailed as the anti-corruption messiah, took Nigeria’s debt from N12 trillion to a cool N77 trillion in just eight years. That’s not incompetence, that’s talent. Under his watch, the economy danced to the rhythm of “borrow, spend, rinse, repeat.” But hey, give the man some credit (pun intended); he still paid fuel subsidies and maintained a reasonable fx rate.
But then came Tinubu, the world renowned grandmaster maestro. Forget “clueless” or “incompetent.” This was the era of strategy, brilliance, and, dare we say, economic artistry. In a masterstroke that would make even Houdini raise an eyebrow, Tinubu managed to double the national debt to N187 trillion—without the pesky burden of fuel subsidies. That’s right, no subsidies, no safety nets, just raw, unfiltered debt.
Now, some naysayers might ask, “Where did all the money go?” Silly question. It’s like asking where your mobile data disappears to—you used it, but can you really explain how? Nigeria’s debt has become the economic version of a bottomless pit: money goes in, echoes come out.
Tinubu’s approach to economic management can be best described as “dead reckoning.” For the uninitiated, that’s a nautical term where you navigate based on your last known position, without accounting for external factors like currents or, in this case, common sense. It’s the financial equivalent of driving blindfolded because, technically, you know the road—until you don’t.
While previous leaders borrowed with at least a semblance of purpose—subsidies, infrastructure, fighting imaginary wars against poverty—Tinubu’s debt strategy is refreshingly avant-garde. It’s borrowing for the sake of borrowing, a performance art piece where the audience is left wondering if they missed the plot or if there was never one to begin with.
When Tinubu boldly declared, “subsidy is gone,” Nigerians thought they’d finally see economic relief. Fuel prices would stabilize, government coffers would swell, and maybe—just maybe—someone would fix that pothole on your street that’s old enough to vote. Instead, we got skyrocketing fuel prices, hyperinflation, and the kind of debt figures that make calculators begin to act funny.
But let’s be fair. Tinubu’s strategy is clearly working—for someone. Contracts are being signed, loans are being secured, and international lenders are probably popping champagne somewhere in Paris or Beijing. After all, Nigeria is that friend who keeps borrowing money with the confidence of someone who’ll never pay back, yet somehow still gets approved for more credit.
At this point, Nigeria’s debt isn’t just a financial figure—it’s a national identity. Forget the green-white-green flag; our true colors are black and red, inked boldly on loan agreements worldwide. We’ve borrowed from the IMF, the World Bank, China, and probably that guy down the street who “knows someone.”
But what’s truly impressive is how debt has evolved from being an economic concern to an art form. Tinubu has redefined fiscal responsibility. Why focus on balancing budgets when you can simply… not? Why worry about revenue when you can just borrow more? It’s revolutionary, really.
A debt so big, it’s practically a landmark. N187 trillion isn’t just a number—it’s a statement. It’s the economic equivalent of climbing Mount Everest and planting a flag that says, “We made it… to the top of the debt mountain.” Tinubu’s government isn’t just participating in the debt race; they’re setting new world records.
Think about it. In just over a year, we’ve managed to accumulate more debt than some countries have in their entire history. That’s not failure; that’s dedication. You don’t just stumble into N187 trillion of debt—you have to work for it.
The Future Looks… Expensive
So, what’s next for Nigeria’s economy? Well, if history is any guide, we’ll probably borrow more. Maybe we’ll hit N300 trillion by 2027. Why not? At this rate, the national budget will just be a list of people Nigeria owes money to.
Of course, there’s always the hope that someone, somewhere, will ask the hard questions. Like, “How do we pay this back?” But that’s a problem for another day—or another administration. After all, the beauty of democracy is that by the time the debt collectors come knocking, there’s a new guy in office to blame.
Final Notes from the Maestro’s Economic Master Strategy
Tinubu’s economic strategy is bold, audacious, and refreshingly indifferent to basic accounting principles. While previous leaders flirted with debt, Tinubu took it out for dinner, proposed, and moved in together.
So, the next time you hear someone complain about the continuous rising cost of living, fuel prices, or why the government can’t seem to fix anything, just smile and say, “It’s all part of the maestro’s plan.” After all, you can’t spell “debt” without “B,” for Bola.

It’s high time we relied on our divination systems to:
1) Select the best fit leaders (intellectually, morally, physically etc)
2) Take critical decisions that will impact the destiny of our nation.
After all, even ancient Israel relied on divination tools like the Urim and Thummin to inquire of the Lord in making key decisions.
Why not rely on IFÁ, Ofo etc?
Democracy is a time wasting scam which only sees the wicked greedy elites divide and exploit the masses.
Yes, the same wicked elites asslicking the neo-colonialists to keep the average Nigerian perpetually poor. Devaluing our currency to enable these nations cream off our resources for peanuts 😡

Politics › Why Nigeria Should Switch To United African States by Uptownerd(op): 8:14pm On Jan 20, 2025 |
The name Nigeria is a scar, a remnant of colonial domination, etched into the identity of a people who were neither consulted nor considered when their boundaries were drawn. A name conceived not from the soul of its people, but by the whim of Lord Lugard’s mistress, Flora Shaw, who saw the Niger River and decided it was fitting. A nation named after a river, bound by the chains of European conquest, continues to wear this colonial badge of dishonor. How long will we allow our identity to be a monument to subjugation? How long will we endure a name that signifies not unity but division, a name that fractures us along ethnic lines?
It is time for Nigeria to shed this inherited garment of shame and adopt a name that embodies the vision of unity, strength, and purpose: United African States. This is not merely a change of nomenclature; it is a radical act of self-redefinition. It is a call to dismantle the psychological and systemic relics of colonialism that still haunt us. It is a proclamation that we refuse to be tethered to a past that was designed to exploit, divide, and diminish us.
The very idea of Nigeria as a nation is a colonial project. The British, in their quest for administrative convenience and economic exploitation, cobbled together over 250 distinct ethnic groups, languages, and cultures into one arbitrary entity. The scars of this artificial union are evident in the unending ethnic tensions, political instability, and mistrust that plague us to this day. The North versus South dichotomy, the Igbo versus Yoruba debates, and the marginalization of minorities are not just political or social issues—they are the tragic echoes of colonial manipulation.
Renaming Nigeria to United African States is a step toward exorcising these ghosts. It is an opportunity to reclaim our destiny and forge a collective identity that transcends tribalism and sectionalism. The name "Nigeria" is a constant reminder of a history we did not choose. The name United African States is a declaration of the future we will build.
Ethnicity is Nigeria’s Achilles’ heel. Every election is a contest of tribes, not ideas. Every policy is scrutinized through the lens of ethnic favoritism. This pervasive ethnic consciousness stems from the absence of a unifying identity. We are Nigerians only in name. In practice, we are Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Tiv, Fulani, and more.
The adoption of United African States signals a new era of belonging. It tells every citizen: You are not merely an ethnic pawn in a geopolitical chess game; you are a part of a greater African vision. This name provides a psychological anchor for national unity, a fresh start for a people exhausted by the ethnic fault lines that have long defined them.
Some may argue that changing the name will not change the reality, that corruption, bad governance, and insecurity will persist regardless of what we are called. But symbols matter. Names matter. The moment we choose to redefine ourselves, we begin to reshape our narrative. It is a first step, a bold step, and a necessary one.
The global order is shifting. The hegemony of the West is waning, and the Global South is rising. As countries in Asia, Latin America, and Africa assert their place in the multipolar world, Nigeria must seize this moment to reposition itself. A name like United African States projects strength, ambition, and leadership. It announces to the world that we are no longer content to be the "giant of Africa" in rhetoric alone but are ready to lead by example.
Our current name, Nigeria, carries the baggage of corruption, inefficiency, and mediocrity. It is synonymous with fraud in the international imagination—"the Nigerian Prince" is not a regal figure but a symbol of scam emails. Changing our name is not just about shedding colonial legacies; it is about rebranding ourselves as a nation ready to take on the challenges of the 21st century with dignity and purpose.
Nigeria’s central government is a labyrinth of bureaucracy, a breeding ground for corruption and inefficiency. The name Nigeria has become synonymous with this dysfunction. It is the scapegoat for every failing, the excuse for every unmet promise. Changing our name to United African States offers a symbolic reset—a chance to rebuild our institutions, our governance, and our systems from the ground up.
This new identity would inspire a reexamination of our federal structure. Our current system is bloated, with overlapping responsibilities that breed confusion and corruption. A name like United African States compels us to confront these inefficiencies. It demands a streamlined government that prioritizes service delivery over self-service.
Renaming Nigeria is not just about us; it is about Africa. The name United African States positions us as a beacon of Pan-Africanism, a reminder of the visionaries like Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Lumumba, and Nnamdi Azikiwe, who dreamed of a united Africa. It is a name that invites collaboration, partnership, and solidarity with other African nations.
In a world increasingly defined by blocs—BRICS, the European Union, ASEAN—Africa cannot afford to remain a collection of fragmented states. Nigeria, as the continent’s most populous nation and largest economy, has a moral responsibility to lead this charge. The name United African States is both a challenge and a commitment to live up to this responsibility.
Changing Nigeria’s name to United African States is not a cosmetic exercise. It is a radical act of defiance against a history that sought to erase us. It is a bold step toward unity in a nation fractured by tribalism. It is a declaration of our readiness to lead Africa into a new era of cooperation, progress, and prosperity.
This is not about abandoning our history; it is about reclaiming it. It is about acknowledging the pain of our past while forging a future that reflects our highest aspirations. The world will not respect a nation that clings to the relics of its oppression. The world will respect a nation that has the courage to redefine itself, to rise above its limitations, and to embrace its destiny.
The question is not whether Nigeria should change its name. The question is whether we have the courage to become who we were always meant to be: a united, powerful, and visionary African state. The time is now. The name is United African States. Let history record that we were not afraid to dream, to act, and to lead.

Revelation 5:1-5 (NIV) "Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, 'Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?' But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, 'Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.'”
Ezekiel 2:9-10 (NIV) "Then I looked, and I saw a hand stretched out to me; in it was a scroll, which he unrolled before me. On both sides of it were written words of lament and mourning and woe."
Revelation 10:8-10 (NIV) "Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: 'Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.' So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, 'Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.' I took the little scroll from the angel's hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour."
Daniel 12:4 (NIV) "But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase kn owledge."
Psalm 40:7 (NIV) "Then I said, 'Here I am, I have come—it is written about me in the scroll.'"
These verses present scrolls as divine messages, containing prophecies, judgments, and knowledge to be revealed at appointed times. |

God is the most merciful, a just King and He forgive sins. God loves to forgive his bondmen. 5. Jesus being sacrifice is very irrational and negated all God sublime attributes
Conclusion: The story of sacrifice is false.God is consistently kind and just always. Hahahahaha. |

Kobojunkie: What aspect of what is written do you need me to explain regarding what is simply stated there?
In case, you cling to the religious lie which has been that the sons of God in that passage came before God in His Heaven where the passage instead says they came to present themselves before the Lord, then you may want to investigate other instances were people were recorded in the book to have presented themselves before the same God.
https://www.blueletterbible.org/lexicon/h3320/kjv/wlc/0-1/ You have an interpretation problem. Those are the only two places in the so called old testament where "Sons of God" were specifically used. And in those instances, they didn't mean "humans". So, you no get talk abeg. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Chai, Angels Were Created With Dicks Too, And They Love Sex With Earth Women by Uptownerd(op): 7:36pm On Jan 07, 2025 |
Kobojunkie: The verse you quoted literally says "Sons of God" and the only interpretation by way of Scripture for that is "Sons of God".
The only way to cause the term "Sons of God" to mean non-humans aka aliens aka fallen angels in this case is to literally bend the meaning to suit your particular opinion/religious interpretation. So what are you fuming in the mouth for? Explain this: Job 1:6 and Job 2:1:"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them." |
Christianity Etc › Re: Chai, Angels Were Created With Dicks Too, And They Love Sex With Earth Women by Uptownerd(op): 4:27am On Jan 07, 2025 |
Kobojunkie: According to Scripture, they are humans. Do you have any scripture that declares otherwise?
The interpretation that the "sons of God" are fallen angels has its origins in religion — Judaism, Christianity, etc, and not Scripture which does not consider sons of God angels(alien beings) but humans. Even Jesus Christ of Israel who was called a Son of God came in human form, and not as an angel or alien. Jesus Christ of Israel equally made known that He came to recruit others to become children of God i.e. Sons of God of Israel. Basically, those who are to become "angels" in Jesus Christ of Israel are human beings. Unfortunately, the verses I posted do not require further interpretations since it's obvious to anyone who is not bent on deceiving themselves with meaningless interpretation and roundabout trips. |
