For the sake of those who don't understand the electricity connection. You connect it in this format below... [4/1, 9:59 PM] #Dr Ray: Start your connection from the potentiometer (where 99cm is written), connect a wire to the terminal there... Then the other end of the wire goes to the negative terminal of your two batteries (the batteries should be sellotaped or papertaped), then, another wire goes from the positive end of the batteries to the key, another wire goes from the key to the other part of the potentiometer... . [4/1, 10:06 PM] #Dr Ray: Another wire then goes from the potentiometer to the Ammeter, from Ammeter to bulb, from bulb to Voltmeter and now, from Voltmeter, connect the wire from the Voltmeter to the wire that is between potentiometer and Ammeter (do not cut the wire, just peel it in the middle) Also, peel the wire between bulb and Voltmeter in the middle, and connect a wire to it that will now go to the jockey [4/1, 10:07 PM] #Dr Ray: Note : Do not connect any wire from jockey to potentiometer Drop your questions if there are any |
The diagram for the question on electricity is attached below... That of heat will follow layer, just to stick to this page... Feel free to ask your questions and discuss...

Unlike what most students think, the heat question will probably be the simplest... It involves addition of impurities (salt), to the boiling point of water... So, your reading on the Thermometer will increase because impurities increases the boiling point of water and decreases the freezing point |
This forum is dedicated specifically for WAEC Physics Practical that will be coming up on 3rd of April, 2017 PHYSICS SPECIMEN ========================== Question 1 (Mechanics) Two Retort stand; Two metre rule; Pieces of thread; Stop watch. Question 2 (Heat) Beaker(0---500cm^3); Water; Measuring cylinder(250cm^3); Thermometer(0---200°C); Stirrer; Tripod stand with wire gauze; Bunsen burner/ source of heart; Stop watch/clock; Table salt/common salt 50g Note:The table salt should be available in 10g × 5 places for each candidate. Otherwise, am electronic balance should be provided Question 3 (Electricity) Two dry cells of 1.5v each; Plug key; Potentiometer; Ammeter(0--5 A); Voltmeter(0--5 v) ; Jockey; Small bulb(Torch light); Ten connecting wire. |
