The point I was making which you failed to understand is that govt has a responsibility to see to the improvement of small businesses. Instead of Remi telling people to go and join others on the street to fry akara or roast corn, she should be empowering those in the business presently to scale up the business so that they can become net employers and improve on their service delivery. That's what small business are supposed to contribute to the economy and they can only do this with govt support since majority lack the capital and wherewithal to scale up.

If countries like the US think as you and your goddess do, Microsoft would have simply remained in Gates' garage repairing IBM computers since it's all about keeping it simple. Only banks and FPIs are feeding fat with an undervalued currency, high interest rates which stifle small businesses but good for portfolio investments and inflation at abysmal level never mention the bonds being sold out with high returns of above 15%!! He's simply robbing the masses to enrich his buddies while unleashing his zombies armed with propaganda to shush the hardworking citizens who've seen their real income plummet.

Again you disappoint me. The residence of the US VP is over 120 years old. Akinola Aguda house that's the present residence of the Nigerian VP is only about 30 years old yet this frivolous govt saw it fit to build another one, something previous govts bucked due to the waste it represents. Even the US refused to build a new residence for their VP to save cost yet a third world country with 63% of the population poor thinks building a VP residence should be a priority

I just got a notification in my community whatsap group that someone said she cooks soup for sale now and I asked for link to store web or address. She said she does it from home. Is it that you folks abroad get totally disconnected with reality immediately you travelled our of the country? Do you think those people selling akara will do those things if they have better things to do, but because the country is fxckdd up , they have to do even the less dignifying job to survive. I'm sure people who use akara and kulikuli business to sponsor education of their wards won't even pray and hope for their wards to follow suit after the completion of their education . Other countries are making good innovation, investing massively in their most productive population but una government is encouraging people to start akara,kulikuli and roasted corn business and you're there supporting the shit.

Lately I stumbled on a video by the wife of the president saying youths should venture into akara selling and road side corn roasting and I observe reactions on social media with many insulting her and calling her all sorts of name.

What I notice about the whole charade is that people who insult her the most fall into two different categories....

*The Gen Z who believe all Nigeria problem started with Tinubu

*The political haters who hates Tinubu and his family and whatever they say even though it's pure common sense they will oppose it.

Let me give some real life examples before going to my point, anyone who have been around since 2010 upward or any graduate from 2010 upwards knows for sure that getting a job is one of the hardest thing, infact we joke about it that it's after service that you know the meaning of so help me God at the end of your service year.

My blood brother finished service in the era of yaradua and despite his good results and some connections he couldn't get a reasonable job, he thought about using one of the abandoned station wagon bus in the compound for logistics and gradually he established himself, got married and now into hospitality with 2 solid hotels. When I finished too, I was also job hunting and I dabbled into modern day slavery for 19 months (private school teaching is what I call modern day slavery) to keep me busy,after 19 months I left n started a gas outlet and pos shop, thank God today I am also into logistics and I have a mini gas station.

This and many more are what graduates use in getting way forward in life because it's obvious Nigeria have been like this for long and graduates have been abandoning certificate to get dirty and make money, it never started during Tinubu presidency so what's the fuse about? This same thing happened to my landlord children, they are both graduate but because they both couldn't get a job they now own fashion school, my wife is also a caterer and a big time food vendor, so why are many people shouting as if it is today that unemployment started?

What prompted me to create this thread was one annoying guy that we served together during JONATHAN regime, we finished and he too couldn't get a job, he learnt electrician work and today he has employed people too, imagine him now insulting the government and insulting Tinubu for telling youth to get engaged instead of waiting for government when it's obvious it's not everyone that will get a government job.

I asked him one question "u always shout Jonathan era was the best, y didn't u get a job then?
Why don't you wait for Jonathan to come and give you job?
Why did you get something doing instead of to sit down and blame the government everyday.
