Foreign Affairs › Re: Madagascar Army Unit Claims Control Amid Power-grab by Usmanovic95(m): 8:19pm On Oct 12, 2025 |
Namaster: The African Union SCREWED up by letting the Military Coups of Mali, Burkina Faso, etc stand.
They should have MOBILISED their Joint Military and INVADED one of those in a "Peace Keeping" mission from the get-go.
The fact that they FAILED to curb this MADNESS is contributing to resurgence of Military Dictatorship across Africa.
If one Military gets away with it with ZERO repercussion, others will take their cue from them. And gradually, Military Dictatorships will spread across Africa just like it's doing right now.
By the time it gets to your footsteps, NO ONE will be available to mobilise for a Military intervention because every country would be a Military Dictatorship at that point.
As for people who think Military Dictatorships are BETTER than the HORRIBLE civilian governments we currently have in Africa, THINK AGAIN!
The Military Dictators would do the SAME THING the Civilians are doing right now but with MORE bloodshed.
They will be CORRUPT and expect to be venerated for their corruption.
You will NOT be able to criticise them WITHOUT losing your life.
Weak African Leaders will have themselves to blame when the consequences of their LACKADAISICAL reactions to the menace of Military Coups catch up with them.
Imagine the one from Burkina Faso bumping fists with Leaders in a formal setting and thinking it's a sign of "strength".
MADNESS! What role does AFRICAN UNION play to make some of these underperforming African leaders to readjust and start performing up to required expectations? If the democratically elected leaders are performing up to expectations, there won't be any sort of protest by the citizen that the military will hijack to plot a coup. No smoke without fire. |

Here in naijeria, 8years na birthright for an incumbent government. They will tell you to allow him finish his 8years no matter how bad his performance his. Buhari should have been booted out in 2019 but nepotism and tribalism ensure he stayed longer in power, another president is about to play the same card. |

Cocony: Yes in all you said topping the group is the best and surest way to the world cup even from a logistics viewpoint because play off is also stressful and financial tasking. Other points you cited are incorrect and the table below will explain why to you. From the picture attached, you can obviously see that the four best second place team were place in the shaded area. They were the one with automatic chance of qualification as at that period( matchday 7) .The figures i quoted were point amass by second placed team after match day 9. |

michael132: Nigeria will win ..n comes out second ..will qualify as best loser ..only to win no single match in group stage...sure bet It's either Nigeria top the qualification group or forget the world cup entirely. We can no longer qualify as best runner-up, because the highest point we can amass is 17point. There are better places runner up at the moment like Burkina f-18PT Dr Congo- 19PT Cameroon -18PT Gabon - 22PT Uganda -18PT Madagascar -19PT Unfortunately, the slot is open to the 4 best second placed teams. So we either win and hope result go in our favour or just forget the world cup. |

COOL10: Where are those people who said that Benin would never beat Rwanda?
It's like you people don't know this man:
Some call him Papa Rohr, others call him Daddy Gernot Rohr, while I call him Odogwu Gernot Rohr. This man knows how to make his haters swallow their words. Under him we never had to do Permutations and Combinations to qualify. I remember when some said that the only reason he kept on qualifying us for tournaments with ease was because of our so called "Superstars" 🤣.
They chased him away and now he's about to take a team of relatively unknown players from Benin to the World Cup, while our so called Superstars are busy praying heavily for others to lose their matches. 🤣
Life indeed has a way of replying certain characters. 🤣
Papa Rohr, Na you biko 😄💪💪💥😎 Rohr is a very good and tactical coach. He knows what he needs to do to achieve his target 🎯. He made 2018 world cup qualifier a walk in the park for us. But some set of fans who were obsessed with champagne free flowing attacking football called for his sack because they found his football style boring. I must admit that I have never seen a foreign coach that understands our football dynamics like him. |

StoryHaven: The qualifier started with him I think. But he was having issues with some key players so, he didn't invite them. Nigeria started woefully. Okocha too blamed him. What these coaches dont know is there are better reasonable ways to punish players. You are undoing your career as a coach and putting the Nation in a thight situation by not fielding important players because you dont like him or his attitude. You mean George Finidi? |
