TravelRemarkable Efficiency At The Nigeria High Commission! 24-hour Turnaround by uzo2512(op):
Remarkable Efficiency at the Nigeria High Commission in London!

I visited the High Commission on the 19th, and by the 20th, my passport was already with Royal Mail—an incredible 24-hour turnaround!

The passport renewal process at the Nigeria High Commission in London has undergone a remarkable transformation. The turnaround time was impressively swift, with passports being processed within just 24 hours after biometric capture—a significant improvement compared to the delays often experienced previously.

What stood out most was the exceptional level of organisation and orderliness. Unlike the chaotic experiences many have come to expect in Nigeria, the process in London was streamlined and efficient. Applicants were attended to promptly, and the entire atmosphere was calm and well-coordinated.

Equally, commendable was the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. They were not only efficient but also respectful and welcoming, making the entire experience smooth and pleasant. This level of efficiency and customer service is a welcome improvement and a model worth replicating. It is disappointing that the appointment wait time is still extremely long, often taking 4-5 months to get an available slot, with no option to reschedule or cancel once booked. However, I was assured that this will improve with the introduction of the contactless self-enrolment system, which eliminates the need to visit the High Commission in person.

Once these remaining issues are resolved, we would certainly rate the service 10 out of 10. That said, I would like to commend the efforts of the Acting High Commissioner, who has brought many positive changes.

I have just received my passport a few minutes ago, which is fantastic!

Could someone please help with Clarification on expired Passport Submission and Return at The Nigeria High commission London

Could someone help me please confirm whether I need to submit my expired passport and leave it with the High Commission until I receive my new passport, or if it will be returned to me along with the supporting documents?

I am asking because I have an emergency trip to Nigeria in about two weeks, and I understand that I may be able to travel with my expired passport. I would like to know if the High Commission will return my old passport after the biometric appointment, or if they will keep it. Since there is no guarantee that my new passport will arrive before my travel date, I would like to ensure that I can still travel to Nigeria with the old passport while waiting for the new one. Or do I have to cancel the appointment and rebook when I come back?

Thank you for your assistance.
