TV/MoviesRe: Marvel Studio's Marvel Captain Is Now Hitting Your Screen by Uzonation(op): 6:02pm On Mar 07, 2019
After seeing it tomorrow, then you can tell better.
That it didn't garner much attention like the other Marvel monster hits doesn't make it a failure. It can be 100% successful in it's funny way.
Five years back, who would have thought Black Panther can even such attention that it got today.
TV/MoviesMarvel Studio's Marvel Captain Is Now Hitting Your Screen by Uzonation(op): 4:29pm On Mar 07, 2019
"Above all else, 'Captain Marvel' is fun, in a way that Super Hero movies sometimes forget to be -- packed with rat-a-tat banter and Star Wars-worthy dog fights. The laughs continue, even through the most intense, flashy fight sequences, and the '90s music cues and pop culture Easter eggs are an added bonus as Carol battles for the greater good, rising to meet a galactic threat without any sort of obligatory romantic subplot to weigh her down. Thanos is going to need to up his game, because Captain Marvel is coming in higher, further, faster."

TV/MoviesSeries Of Nollywood Films To Feature In Paris Film Festival by Uzonation(op): 10:23am On Mar 03, 2019
Now in its seventh edition, the NollywoodWeek Paris Film Festival, which was created to showcase the very best that Nollywood has to offer will be running a series of current Nollywood acts. The festival is imbued with the aim of finding a larger audience and a more sustainable distribution system for these quality films.

Since this year's festival is focused on the importance of telling our own stories, especially from a woman’s perspective, acclaimed films like Kemi Adetiba's record-breaker, King Of Boys and Dare Olaitan's acclaimed gem, Knock Out Blessing were selected.

TV/MoviesSuper Fascinated: Tomi Adeyemi's Children Of Blood And Bone Getting Adaptation by Uzonation(op): 10:32am On Feb 26, 2019
Children of Blood and Bone, set in a fictional West African land, invokes magic and African folklore to make broader arguments about race, gender, tradition and social justice in America. The story’s central character, Zélie Adebola, seeks to unleash the storied magic of her ancestors in the nation of Orïsha. After years of repression, the maji must rely on Zélie to restore their mystic history and revolt against a strict caste system. Children of Blood and Bone is fictional, yes, but it is also an amalgamation of the lived experiences of a young black woman in America, pieced together into a fantastic mosaic. It is the work of an author forging profound art in the crucible that has been the past decade in the U.S., navigating the predominantly white suburbs of Illinois during her childhood, earning admission into the hallowed halls of Harvard, and yet still coping with the limitations of a world rife with race-based injustice.

However, Fox 2000, the studio that bought the rights, has now tapped award-winning Nigerian-American director, Rick Famuyiwa to helm the movie. Famuyiwa, who has written and directed outstanding films like The Wood, Brown Sugar and Dope.

In the past, a bunch of nollywood action movies have been nothing other than mockery for the action genre when it is been compared with the standard. And now Nollywood, makes a comparative detailing of real action movie in the trailer for Ratnik.

TV/MoviesReviews Of Lionheart by Uzonation(op): 6:54pm On Jan 13, 2019
"What I love most about Lionheart is that it is not a sell out" Ogene Uchenna
“Lionheart” is only partly a movie about how a woman takes charge of a company in a sexist society. Although the film’s description implied a focus on a feminist perspective on business, it lacked any real exploration of the subject. It also failed to have any feminist ideals. For example, a man still ended up solving the company’s bankruptcy problem and essentially saving the day. Along the way, “Lionheart” offers sidelong observations about the importance of preserving a family legacy; the need for comity among Nigeria’s classes and ethnic groups; and the wisdom of older generations, even when change is necessary. It is globally minded filmmaking that is also comfortingly familiar." Obinna
