Your apps and it's data will be stored in the phone memory. If you have the means go for the 3/32, 2/16gb ram phones are not really worth it these days imo.

assuming I bought xiaomi phone with 16gb rom and a 32gb sd card with the intention of downloading and installing a 5gb application worth of size,will I download the application and install it based on my sd card storage space or internal storage space...i.e

5×2 apps for internal storage of 16gb rom
5×5 apps for sd card storage of 32gb sd card
