Denmark releases new ‘positive list’ of in-demand professions

The most recent "Positive List" of in-demand professions has been released by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI).


On July 1st, the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) released new “Positive List” for highly educated and skilled workers.

The Positive List is a list of professions experiencing a workforce shortage within Denmark. Non-EU/EEA citizens are eligible for work and residence permits if they have a job offer with a Danish employer that matches the titles included on the Positive List.

The new list, valid through December 31st, contains 41 job titles for people with higher education and 47 job titles for skilled workers.

Here are the job titles included on the list for highly educated workers:

- Management: head of department, sales manager, general manager

- Science and engineering: biologist, mechanical engineer, construction manager, civil engineer, environmental engineer, chemical engineer, designer, town planer, land inspector

- Healthcare: doctor, medical consultant, hospital doctor, chief physician, anesthesia nurse, nurse, dentist, clinical dietitian, occupational therapist, radiographer, medical lab technician, dental hygienist

- Education: adult education center teacher, primary school teacher, teacher at independent boarding schools for lower secondary school students, child care worker, social education worker, assistant pre-school teacherEconomics: auditor, accounting controller

- IT: IT architect, IT engineer, IT project leader, programmer and system developer

- Law, social science, culture: legal officer, librarian, psychologist, organist/cantor


Here are the job titles included on the list for skilled workers:

- Science and engineering: building technician, plumbing technician, plumber, operations and production manager, mate

- Healthcare: environmental technician

- Business & administration: account manager, sales consultant, job and company consultant, local authority case manager, real estate agent, study administrative secretary, medical secretary, managing clerk, office assistant, office clerk, school secretary, trade assistant

- Law, social science, culture: parish clerk, floral decorator, head chef

- Economics: accountant assistant, bookkeeper, bookkeeping and accounting clerk

- Personal services and care: hairdresser, social and health care assistant

- Agriculture: landscape gardener, greenkeeper

- Construction: bricklayer, joiner, carpenter, travelling fitter, plumber fitter

- Machinery: bodywork metal worker, blacksmith, sheet metal worker, service technician for iron and metal, industrial technician, CNC operator, mechanic

The Federal government has arrested the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Against the report that Kanu was arrested in the UK, Kanu was arrested in the Czech Republic

A very competent sour told thenigeriadaily.com that Kanu travelled from England to Singapore before heading tthe o Czech Republic on Friday.

Our source said with the tip-off from the Czech Republic officials Nigerian government, the IPOB leader was arrested on Saturday in Prague, Czech Republic.

ThAttorneyey General has al disclosed that Kanu would be taken before the Federal High Court in Abuja for the continuation of his trial on charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms and management of an unlawful society.

Recall that Kanu was granted bail in April 2017 on health grounds but skipped bail after flouting some of the conditions given to him by the court. He has been on the run since then. Justice Binta Nyako who granted his bail on grounds of his ill health later revoked it on March 28, 20,19 and issued a Bench warrant for his arrest in any part of the country.

The Spanish actor, who is now 20 years old, began digging a hole in the backyard of his family home in Alicante, Spain. "I was an angry teenager with a pick axe," he said. "After I started digging, I came back every afternoon for three years to continue digging that hole."

Six years on, Canto's continuous digging has resulted in a dusty pit being transformed into a fully-fledged "man cave." The underground bunker is complete with stairs, a stereo system, heating, an oven, and a single bed.

He spoke to Insider from inside the cave, where he spends up to five hours a day relaxing, using the WiFi system he installed himself.

Husband ‘fatally shoots wife who said she was leaving him while children home



A husband is accused of shooting and killing  his wife after she told him that she planned to leave him. Steven Timothy Smith, 59, was covered in blood after allegedly shooting Shawntell Smith, 49, in their home while several of their children were present. Santa Clara-Ivins Public Safety officers responded to a call of shots fired late Friday in Ivins, a suburb in southwest Utah. ‘Upon arrival, officers found that the victim suffered from several gunshot injuries and was declared deceased on the scene,’ police said in a statement obtained by the Gephardt Daily. Police said they found Steven with ‘blood on his hands and clothes’ and a handgun with blood around the grip was discovered ‘hidden in a closet’ inside his bedroom.

Four years ago, some Ethiopian Israeli children, about 12 years old, went to enjoy the festival – like the rest of the kids in the area. But police officers at the venue began to follow them and then arrested them, accusing them of stealing and taking them to the local police station. When their parents arrived, the police kicked them out without any explanation; only after three days which the youngsters spent in the Kishon jail were they released. This incident, Mekonen-Dego says, affected her deeply and motivated her to join a then-new initiative called Mothers on Guard.
