Everything that you need is on this forum. I was once a learner before, but today I can boast of single-handedly porting all tecno n3 custom ROM's starting from gingerbean to eblak to mokee and now the most powerful, beautiful, inspiring and above all strongest ROM so far made by Emmikem and adumbrated by Rajan Christian - JELLYBEAN 2.1. In all I can tell you that I don't have any difficulty installing them coz I followed their instructions on their threads except on WhatsApp and once I finish my exams I will try and make a donation. Those guys are really amazing. May Allah bless them! Pls site for jelly bean (not eblak) |

1. sdcard partitioned in three parts...fat32, ext2 (not ext3 wont work), and linuxswap 2. stock 3e recovery 3. tecno n3, though this method may work for other androids of same chipset. procedure: *install Gingerbean Aurora CR using AIO *donnot start using phone, boot to recovery *select reboot system now; your device should d a full wipe and restart *after phone restarts, go to settings; applications: enable "unknown sources", the scroll down to development and enable "usb debugging" *exit settings and open superuser; and update binaries *exit superuser and open root explorer *in root explorer go to data folder, inside data folder look for a folder names sdext2, if you cant locate it simply create a new folder and name it "sdext2" (note the small letters) *now, exit root explorer and restart phone *When your phone has finished restarting, open root explorer and go to the folder data/sdext2, now you should find the contents of your ext2 parition listed *delete all the contents of the sdext2 folder, any one that refuses to delete just leave alone *Now, go back once, that is out of the sdext2 folder (i.e. data/), *now we will move three folders "app" "data" and "dalvik-cache" frm here to sdext2. hw is that done? *in that folder, i.e data/, press left button on the n3, and select "multi-select" only choose "app" "data" and "dalvik-cache" *click move *scroll down to sdext2 and select the folder the folder(i.e data/sdext2/) *click paste it will take some time, be patient. *when done you shud have "app" "data" and "dalvik-cache"in your sdext2 note: do not exit root explorer yet...we are not finished *now, go back once (data/) or click buttom right button *click buttom left button, in the menu choose "new folder" * enter the name as "app" without quotes, and click ok *do the same, and create folders for "data" and "dalvik-cache" *now, go down to sdext2 again, select it *long-press or put your finger for a while on "app" folder in the menu that opens, go to the end and select "link to this folder" go back once by pressing right button on the n3 * then select "create link here" * you will be prompted, just choose ok *nw go to sdext2 and do the same for "data" and "dalvik-cache" folders* when done simply restart phone..and viola simply restart phone and enjoy ......................................................................................

xanders: Please note: the installation of custom roms can literally (i.e. practically) damage your device; henceeee, i'll say this quickly: lexsolutionz or any of its staff are not responsible for any damage resulting from any action carried out by you truly.
regardless....the pros(successes) are better than the cons (risks)...soooo...lets get modding Nowwww, with that being said, you must follow these steps one by one Guide to installation of Ginger-bean: Prelude: STOP! ANSWER YES TO ALL THESE QUESTIONS B4 YOU PROCEED FUTHER!!!!!! ask yourself the following: a. Have you backed up all your data to your SD or PC? if not, you must do so immediately especially your contacts (goto contacts menu, import/export, backup to SD) b. Have you done a nandroid backup of your present rom? easiest way out of a Brick? if not, you must go to google play and download "online nandroid backup". when youve done so, run online nandroid backup, you will need an internet connection to update the nandroid scripts. select clockworkmod mode, then click "start backup" (note : have atlest 512MB on your SD card). the backup should take about 20 mins c. do you have ADB driver for N3 installed? if no go here to find out how to do so: https://www.nairaland.com/1261265/solution-boot-loop-bricked-techno#15537985 d. seriously know what your doing ? d. Are you human yet are utterly into living on the edge ? step 1-download the modded boot image (get here https://www.dropbox.com/s/k52ryk51nna0z8v/boot.img?v=0mcng) step 2-download tools needed (get here https://www.dropbox.com/s/g1nkd5bthu1v4dq/tools_needed.zip?v=0mcng) step 3-download N3 system img, its uploaded in split file (10 in all), here are the links: 1. https://www.dropbox.com/s/dlru2mnwc8093qq/sys.yaffs2.7z.001?v=0mcng 2.https://www.dropbox.com/s/egk8d0dv7tyds18/sys.yaffs2.7z.002?v=0mcng 3. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ca3nu4z5hh8ptjb/sys.yaffs2.7z.003?v=0mcng 4. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9ip531uhq79hfkv/sys.yaffs2.7z.004?v=0mcng 5. https://www.dropbox.com/s/58lofogl9fom5ar/sys.yaffs2.7z.005?v=0mcng 6. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3qxcx3wxlrfm29u/sys.yaffs2.7z.006?v=0mcng 7. https://www.dropbox.com/s/74djkpzpuew5ofa/sys.yaffs2.7z.007?v=0mcng 8. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ssnwsjer87nptpo/sys.yaffs2.7z.008?v=0mcng 9. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4z5fbj0dtihwlzr/sys.yaffs2.7z.009?v=0mcng and 10.https://www.dropbox.com/s/n95nk52fx6g65x1/sys.yaffs2.7z.010?v=0mcng
step 4- extract contents of tools_needed folder and install 7zip
step 5- use 7zip to extract the 10 split sys.yaffs2.img file (this can be done by copying them to the same folder the right clicking and selecting 7zip, extract archive)
step 6- boot your N3 into fast boot mode (this is done easily by removing the battery, and while holding volume-down button on plug in your usb cable, then wait till you see the TECNO logo displayed on the screen, wait for 5 second then release the volume-down button)
step 7 FLASHING THE TECNO:
At juncture you need to stop every other thing youve been doing while you wer doing this and concerntrate!!!
(Girl, allow that boy not to brick his phone o! and O boy, stop that Pinging O. Anyway, we have already said we'er not responsible for casualties) were ready to flash...
At this point i'm right to guess we've all installed our ADB drivers using the Android universal ADB installer. if not go here to find out how to do so https://www.nairaland.com/1261265/solution-boot-loop-bricked-techno#15537985 now, run Android AIO flasher.exe (found in tools needed folder) next, in the AIO flasher window, the very first menu is what concerns us i.e. where its written fastboot flasher (Nandroid Restorer)(the others we shall explain in later tutorials) click boot click Select file(browse to where you saved the boot.img you downloaded above) click erase click flash
YOU MUST wait for the black window below to show "writing boot...OK" before you know its done
Congratulations your almost done!!
Simply repeat the same process for the sys.yaffs2.img file, only this time, we go: click System click Select file(browse to where you saved the sys.yaffs2.img you downloaded above) click erase click flash
once again YOU MUST wait for the black window below to show "writing sys.yaffs2.img OK" before you know its done. it should take about 50 seconds, depending on your system specs.
Lastly, unplug the usb cable, now, while holding "volume-up" plug it back keep holding volume up till you enter the Android 3e stock recovery menu. using volume up and down to move select "wipe cache", PRESS power button to select when this is finished select "wipe data/factory reset"
when this is done restart your phone these last two steps are important..else you may have boot-loop well..guess thats pretty much it. regarding the memory boost..i will post that momentarily. feel free to post feedback here courtesy..lexsolutionz pls oga apart from nandroid backup...can i use clockwork mod to backup. n place it somewhere |

yehmy: First up there u have a screenshot of our darling cwm recovery on Tecno N3 now m gonna show you how it works.
Your fone must be rooted.
dl cwm, mobile uncle, update from d link in my previous post.
extract all dis 3 files frm d link u dl
install mobile uncle.apk on ur fone
place cwm recovery and update on the root of ur sdcard.
Open mobile uncle.apk it will ask for superuser access grant it d access now scroll to Recovery update click u will see ur recovery.img at d very top, click it to flash it will ask if you want to boot to recovery choose yes/ok. ur phone will go off and auto boot into recovery.
At first our recovery is in four parts it is divided into two screens each, BUT b4 u proceed u need to enable back button dat is d first thing u will do once u enter Recovery.
To enableback button press vol up vol dwn vol up. u will see back button enabled.
Now lets fix d 4 screen and turn it to a single screen
after enabling back button scroll to install zip frm sdcard use power button to select u will see d option Apply update frm sdcard click nd select yes ur fone will install d update u place on ur sdcard automatically and ur fone will whiteup and change to a screen.
Now you can do anything with ur cwm recovery, e.g installing roms, partitioning sdcard, backing up of rom. e.t.c
NOTE- see above screenshot to see how d recovery looks like b4 and after update. Use vol up nd down to scroll in cwm Use power button to select No foolish question or any post to derail thread Ask reasonable questions nd read dis tutorial well b4 asking question.
DO NOT DELETE THE UPDATE.ZIP from your sdcard because u will always perform the apply update to change the recovery to a single screen always. pls my phone has white up..n n showing the screen above..should i do something again or i should reboot |
