Meanwhile in Ghana during the day when you were declaring self-deliverance from the shackles of aid, your president decided Nairobi, Kenya was going to be the biggest show of intent grin grin grin
What a joke of a country
This alone shows how desperate your country want to be .

You just told me you gave up on your natural resources and told foreigners they can exploit all of it so long as they can build a few roads and brothels in Kumasi.
Then remove your glasses . what I said is, Ghana is trading alumium that is a by product of bauxite ( natural resources)when refined for infrastructure development.

It only shows you the peculiarities of Ghana's tiny economy. Normal economies are behaving the same way. When other countries' currencies start gaining ground the Cedi will go back to doing the opposite.

Ghana Beyond Aid was always a farce grin

See your president saying: F it!! These niggas dont know me, I'm going to scare the hell out of them with Nairobi" grin
Absolutely this is meaningless. no point made here . Ghana currency was adjudged the best in the world against dollar before the advent of the Covid 19 and that was early February.

First, Ghana with a population of 30 million people currently have more than 10 billion dollar in reserve to cushion any negative effect that might be coming from the demand of dollars and that aside, she is currently benefiting from recent rise In gold and cocoa price. as long as the demand for gold keep increasing and the price, the stability of the cedi remain certain.

And you must be joking if any country want to copy one another, it will surely be kenya.. your education minister letter is still available.

How can it be prudent when Ghana is slowly turning itself into another Congo. You should never let foreigners get a freehand on your resources. You must be very nice lap dogs in those countries' circles.
This is meaningless boy. how is foreigner having a Freehand on Ghana resources. The aluminium product is going to be transported from the company that produces aluminium.

Remember this is not kenya, where China control and managed how much your cargo should charge.

The rest was hogwash... Good times for the cedi are rare, I understand why you are feeling good. I told your apprentice that the cedi is on a roll because of coronavirus.

Then ask your stupid self , why is other country currency that has far larger scale of business transaction with China than Ghana not having their currency doing well. for example the trade volume between Nigeria and China is four times of what Ghana is trading with China. yet naira isn't see much improvement.

that fake assertion had already been debunked.

Exchanging your natural resources for infrastructure is very dumb of Ghana. Why not get a loan to build the capacity to extract those resources and earn good money. Now I see how your Gold has left you with nothing.
it is very prudent boy. they are not taking the natural resources but the by product of the natural resources. we are exporting refined aluminium. that is more prudent than seeking for a loan that has hiding motive .

Keep playing dice with with your wobbly economy (and cedi). The 40 yr bond was not warranted, you're just trying to borrow your way out of trouble.

Dont forget Kenya has issued several similar short term Eurobonds that were over subscribed by up to 4.5 times because bonds are regularly oversubscribed.
What makes this more astonishing is even the interest rate . despite lowering the yeiding rate compare to when it was first issued last time, the bond was still oversubscribed. bonds are not regularly oversubscribed. no body buys unproductive bonds . the ability to even sell bonds on international level shows you have a better working economy. . Your only way to escaped this pridacament of locusts and Covid 19 is to beg the IMF, cos China might not be willing to loan you again .

cedi has remain resilient ever since begining of this year not like fallen kenya shilling which is already on its spree like grandma fallen breast

The only point here is that you are lamenting over Kenya seeking access to a standby facility it is entitled to when in fact Ghana is a perennial beggar at the same facility over and above any standby facility you may qualify for. Do you even qualify for a similar facility like other respectable nations? With your proven track record of economic mismanagement I doubt any nation would want to work with you guys because you are perceived as a high risk borrower. You must to stick to IMF and WB. Bilateral loans require a high degree of mutual reciprocity and trust. The difference between a bilateral loan and one from the IMF is that you do what you planned to do with the money, unlike the IMF where Ghana has to be told what to do with every penny like a small child.
That is where you get it all messed up. Ghana track record in management made her loyal friend of IMF and this are part of the reason bank of Ghana governor was appointed to be the next chairman of IMF boards . it is based on track record . Ghana becomes the first country to trade her natural resources for infrastructure development with China.making it 50/50 in barter agreement. this is more prudent that going for a loan which mode of contract and agreement will failed to be disclosed to the general public due to high level of embarrassment that will caused the nation. just like no ordinary kenya can really say what will happen to kenya if it failed to pay back China debt. the biggest speculation so far is your mombasa port will be forfeited. i hope it isn't true.

bilateral loan most at times turn a little nation to zombie and trash bin, just like the case of kenya. I even learnt China export common fish to kenya . you will forever remain their slaves. they dictate to you.

Why is Ghana of all people complaining that Kenya is seeking access to similar monies from IMF when Ghana herself has been running to IMF for decades now. The only time Kenya got any sort of assistance from IMF if t all must have been during Nkrumah's reign. We've always had a precautionary facility at the IMF in excess of $1.5 B which we have never had to use because we are not like Ghana.
I don't get your worries boy. Ghana decide to tap into multilateral debt( country to financial institution) , kenya prefer bilateral debt( country to country). this does not in anyway make you better than Ghana. instead it only shows Ghana has more access to multilateral loan than you guys. it is more difficult to access financial institutional loan than a country loan . China will be more than willing to loan you than IMF. at least your last attempt to get a loan from IMF was rejected when your weak financial system was sighted as the reason.

Kenya is only taking precaution because the govt needs to refund taxes to businesses in the next two to three months as agreed locally to cushion businesses and livelihoods. Its not bailout like Ghana.
As i speak now, your goverment is broke. the locusts has hampered your harvest and the Coronavirus epidemic had already weaken your little export. so the prudent thing to do now is to beg the IMf for bail out .

Ghana beyond Aid was a farce bro. The reason you will not be given that money yet is because big daddy is afraid you will misuse it by dancing around in funny stool festivals. grin Covid has just cemented Ghana's eternal marriage to Bretton wood institutions. Your president tried his best to free Ghana from the shackles of IMF and WB but ultimately he has been forced to bow down once again. You're never freeing yourself from the chains grin
stop quoting what you yourself don't understand.

Ghana Consolidated Fund and Donor Partner Fund are the funding source of the 100 million set aside for the coronavirus fight. the 100 million dollar is from Ghana goverment pulse and friends of Ghana. what Ghana seek from IMF is to tap from the 62 billion dollar allocated to fight Coronavirus which is less than 35 million dollars. IMF already say she is looking at the request and she is yet to give a valid response. and Ghana might not be given cus we have over 200 million dollar which we are going to used for new voters registration and additional 100 million dollar which we want to used to build the national cathedral which serve no meaningful purpose. IMF may request we used this fund instead of accessing their loans .

And remember our national heritage fund is close to 500 million dollars as I speak . we can tap into it if push come to shove .

we aren't kenya stealing Germany consignment or pleading of economy turnaround of 1.2 billion dollars for a bail out.

We are observing

The price of Brent oil, the benchmark barrel of the Algerian Sahara Blend, closed the week at 25.03 dollars, down 5.96% from its opening price on Friday and 8.79% over the week. .

In one month, Brent will have lost 53% of its value while the decline stands at 62% since January 1 of the current year. The steep drop in oil prices is mainly due to a drastic drop in global demand caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Covid-19 has officially infected more than 602,000 cases in 177 countries and territories around the world, causing the deaths of approximately 28,000 people and prompting the governments of many countries to take unprecedented steps to try to stem its spread. . A situation that had a direct and sustained effect on the world economy, on the verge of experiencing its first recession since the end of the 2000s and the subprime crisis.

The coronavirus, however, is not the only factor that caused oil prices to plummet. The latter had in fact shortly before suffered the full brunt of the failure of the OPEC + production reduction agreement, against the backdrop of rivalries between Saudi Arabia and Russia which led Riyadh to flood international oil markets. at a low price in order to recover its market share and affect the passage of American shale producers.

But things could change. The United States through Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo has called on Saudi Arabia, the largest oil exporter, to “reassure the energy and financial markets” in the face of the looming global economic crisis, reports Liberation. The US secretary of state said that Saudi Arabia “as president of the G20” this year “and an important energy leader” had “a real opportunity to rise to the challenge”.

“The current COVID-19 epidemic presents enough challenges in the United States without the additional effects of oil prices and oversupply,” said Republican MP Mike McCaul of the State of Texas, cited by Al-Monitor. A way to put pressure on Riyadh to stop this open price war.

At the same time, Russia reached out to Saudi Arabia yesterday Friday as it considered a new deal to reduce oil production under OPEC +. The Russian government recalled that it was primarily responsible for the failure of the previous agreement, refusing to concede a reduction commensurate with world demand and believing that the prices of the time were sufficient to balance its budget.

“Joint action between countries is necessary to restore the global economy. These joint actions are also possible under the OPEC + agreement, “said Kirill Dmitriev, director of the sovereign wealth fund for Russia, quoted by Reuters on Friday.

“We are in contact with Saudi Arabia and a number of third countries. On the basis of these contacts, we observe that if the number of OPEC + member countries increases and other countries join, there will be the possibility of a common agreement to balance the oil markets, ”said indicated Mr. Dmitriev
I think this post buttress my point that Russia can not win oil war with Saudi Arabia. it is just impossible.
