Stop celebrating mediocrity.

Better than none indeed. It is one thing to be a pessimist and another thing to be a dumb optimist.

Nigeria is the giant of Africa in terms of resources and other factors. If other African countries like Kenya and Ghana are doing better than us, it calls for serious sober reflection and re-strategizing.

The slow testing capacity is a fuel and timebomb to the spreading of COVID-19 in Nigeria. How do you identify and quarantine carriers of the disease in good time with this capacity.

We need to hold our government accountable for the way our resources is being managed.

Ghana even did better than many advance nations.

The key to winning this war is mass testing, contact tracing while everyone stay indoors

I don't know if Nigeria want to eat those test kit donated to them...
How can economically weaker and smaller African countries have more testing capacity than Nigeria? Why on earth do we joke with serious matter like this?

Just look at their plan May to September when other countries are massively testing so as to reopen their economy.

testing 2000 per million of population is not what you call aggressive testing, you can see how the numbers are jumping in Nigeria once they increased testing. Countries that are testing tens of thousand per million of population are still in lockdown.

open up too early only means a bigger secondary wave of infections.

BTW Nigeria is even worse because we are only testing 35 people for every 1million of population.
You guys have problem. just logged off if You don't understand. Ghana is ranked among the top 20 countries in the world testing for coronavirs in terms of per capita. What this means is that Ghana is one of the leading countries in the world embarking on massive testing as far as country's population and rate of testing is concerned.

With a population of about 30 million people, Ghana has so far tested nearly 70,000 people as at April 18. making Ghana the number one ranked country in Africa in terms of COVID-19 testing per capita, and number two on the continent behind South Africa in terms of number of people tested. Ghana has even done well more than some advanced country , for example, it took the United States nearly two months after its first confirmed case to declare a national emergency, the government of Ghana banned all public gathering in Ghana just four days after the confirmation of Ghana's first case .

Ghana's nearly conduct 70,000 tests within a month of its first confirmed case. this is higher than tests conducted by the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom within six weeks of their first official case if only you are following the news

Although an exact number is not clear, experts estimate that the Chinese living in Ghana number nearly 700,000 people. 2,4% of the people in Ghana are of Chinese heritage.

Chinese mulatos. Probaly the Only country in Africa to end up with Afro-Chinese people.

who is this idiot, how can Chinese in Ghana has such number? on what data do you stupidly arrive at that ? I have warn you to stop quoting source from untrusted and biased sites like blog or non academic page like Wikimedia.

if going by people with residential permit , Ghana has no more than 45 thousand foreigners in total that exclude Nigeria which are majorly not documented and refugees

this is not kenya where India and Chinese decides who is who....

I am in Ghana currently and I can tell you for a fact that Nigeria is better than Ghana when it comes to handling the Covid -19 pandemic.

It is not about the number of tests alone but the deep levels of ignorance here.

Besides they are 5 times smaller than Nigeria so easier to handle yet they are already heading to 1200 cases and statistically, comparing their data to Nigeria, they are doing worse.
You being in Ghana does not make you smarter on the subject more than the person who is outside the country. the persion maybe following data while you are just taking as a novice.

The whole pandemic is about your capacity to test, treat and trace. and in all, Ghana has done better than many africa state except with south africa in absolute cases . The reasons the pandemic was curtailed in Singapore and south Korea is simply becuse of the 3ts. testing , tracing and treating .

The number of the increased cases in Ghana is not new, it is from the number of the aggressive number of quarantined individual who are traced to the first contact.

Wake up to reality sir... Just do yourself that favour!!!

We are over 200 million in Nigeria (compare that to Ghana's population), and your people can't afford to test beyond 2000 per day (I believe they are testing far less)...

This means to actually pull off what has been done by most serious nations like Germany, South Korea, and England, they will have to fully lock the nation down till June or July... This is totally out of the question!!!

So, the lockdown will remain a charade on paper, till everyone boycotts the damn thing!!!

This is the true Reality staring us in the face!!!
Ghana has done more than 68 thousand testing. that makes her the second country after south africa In africa with largest tested case. in per capital testing , Ghana has tested roughly 2 thousand people in a million, making the first country in Africa to do so.

Do the math Mr man.
This argument dosnt make sense. Nigeria has only conduct 10, thousand testing so far despite being One of the first africa country to first discover the case. Ghana which experience her first case just 3rd of March has conducted over 68 thousand testing. either you used per capital or absolute, Ghana dwarf Nigeria.

Let me summarize. The problem with exporting labour is simple. After one generation - the Ghanian abroad - will cease being Ghanian- the kids have no connection nor interest with KUMASI or TAKORADI - and become German, French, Swiss, American and even Chinese - and you have to keep exporting slaves like you have done 500yrs - with nothing to show.
How do you foolishly calculate that ? haven't you heard about the saying . harvest rainy water so that you can have enough for the dry season. so long as the Ghanaian expatriate keep investing back home as the money is being turn into bigger investment down home, then there is no cause for alarm. the investment of this people back home will stand for them when they are gone not their generational children.

this is diffrence unlike the modern day slavery Chinese are putting kenya thru

This actually makes your case worst. What is wrong with West Africa education - All my life I never MET PEOPLE THIS DUMB - SACRASM escape them - the simplest of logic is alien?

We are discussing the gold here in the context of what South Africa has done it . South Africa with it less easier and more costly to exploit GOLD has built their country on the back of it's minerals...the same way middle east have built their country on dirty oil.

Joburg was essentially built with gold proceeds.

Now tell us what have Ghana done with it's gold - apart from building themselves a golden juju voodoo stool?
What has Nigeria done with it's Oil?

Kenya neither has oil nor diamond nor gold nor rainfall - but when you look at Kenya - you'd think we had all those things.

only dumb individual make use of sarcasm when not required . mostly, such people are having a problem with reality.

One very stupid thing about you is the context you used word made me doubt the whole kenya education. History and geography tell us south africa was a major route linking buisness trade between Europe and India. meaning they have been presence of buisness going on in S.A. before Ghana was known as a sovereignty state. but to your stupid mind . Ghana should be developed as south africa infrastracturely when history never based them on the same context. .Geographicaly, there was discovery of hidden riches below their surface and it culminated in a few wars over wealth ownership. It all started with Diamonds as far back as 17s when Ghana was not even a state. but infrastructure isn't the only main goal of development, the well being of south africa has never being better than Ghana. .According to Oxfarm, there is more poor people in south Africa than Ghana.

S.A. was built with Minning cash and it is not limited to gold alone , there is platinum and coal as well.

I can as well start listing what we have done with gold materially but our best product remain Ghanaian themselves. The country has produce so many literate and well educated folks that your country wish to replicate their policy and tap from their abundant wealth of ideas. one is our constitution that your country entirely copy. Nigeria without will still be better than your pit hell.

when you look at kenya , the first things that comes to mind is hunger and starvation. your attempt to sell oil as landed you into debt. tullow will get back his money.

when we are young, kenya alongside Somalia is what we do see on tv as hunger ravaged zone. you don't need to blame the media . it is what they saw.

Why do you even borrow when you are literally the GOLD COAST. You have more gold than South Africa. Gold built Johannesburg. Where is your Johannesburg? Accra and Kumasi look like a sick joke.

For centuries - you have mined money - and yet you're so broke - IMF has been managing your for 95% of your existence as independent nation

Ghana human resources remains her largest single asset. we have used our gold to produce the best kind of human in any endeavour thru out the world. And This explain why our unemployment rate is far more impressive than many western Europe talkless of africa . despite being small, our export related service( not commodity, I mean human services) is far bigger than your total export . and again in sub Saharan Africa , we are only trending behind Nigeria and Ethiopia in foreing direct remittance. and this is population that is just half of your country kenya.

IMF don't managed economy, they only provide policy advice and general aid which are loans.

For a country named the GOLD COAST - you're indeed a sick joke.

Citing figures from the Ghana Chamber of Mines and the Minerals Council of South Africa, the report said Ghana produced 4.8 million ounces of gold in 2018 as opposed to South Africa's 4.2 million ounces.

This doesn't mean Ghana has more gold in deposit than south Africa. it only explain the amount of extraction being carried out in both country. Ghana gold is much more easier and less costly to exploit than SA but it does not has south africa Amount of gold deposit.
