You actually shouldn't have started the defence in the first place. This topic already settles it.

Jesus according to the OP did not forgive Judas till he died and departed. Which is against his own teaching if he indeed did that.

So if he goes against his own teaching (1) and committing a sin (2) according to christian doctrine and goes scot free, what is the guarantee that doing what he did earns any one who does same a punishment?

Are we sure all this "sin" and whatnots is not just some invention of someone who wrote the bible?

I mean, Look at Jesus na, sinning and living happily ever after grin
grin As I said, this is done already and you are only trying to relitigate an already done matter which shows you have lost already grin

So you can go on trying but nothing you say erases any of the evidence up there showing Jesus indeed lived by his own teaching which you could not counter so your trying to hang on to op's word is a nullity then your running to attack the Bible is another nullity.

All you shall be doing henceforth are all nullities but it is your right to engage in nullities.

So here comes another one from you now lol..

DIVINE PERFECTION FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

✓Amidst the snares that comes with comfort is the temptation to replace responsibility with emotions; Samson failed not because of adultery but for seeking solace at the laps of his wife when he was supposed to be seeking for the next phase of his assignment.
See how person go just come dey write im own Bible.

You say Samson failed not because of adultery but for seeking solace at the laps of his wife?

So who is this wife that he was solacing with?

Because the Bible clearly told us that it is still one of the outside woman in the name of Delilah that he was captured, nowhere was she called his wife, so which wife biko?

Sorry, a which point did this happen?

I think you and the OP should agree on one thing. Not forgiving is holding a grudge and the opposite of "turning his back" whatever that means

As forecasted...
cheesy Good thing every point I made is up on the thread and in my answers to you.

So clearly as I said you shall have nothing to say in counter so you shall come to repeat yourself as you yourself have admitted I "forecasted" lol.

So I am done.

We are actually talking about the person who invented the idea of turning the other cheek, not letting the sun go down with a grudge, forgiving 77 times...
Ah, ah, someone who turned his back on a person who killed him and did not do as you and I both know we would have done if it had happened to you or me?

Come on, that na better turning of cheek!

So you are just being ridiculous.

And now, I expect you to come back to repeat yourself since you are trying to condemn Jesus but He remains blame-non .

Yes he do Judas something according to you people: He did not forgive.
How is turning your back a doing of something to someone who caused your death?

Shall your answer to someone who caused your death be to turn your back on the person? Shall you if you had the power not rather face the person and make sure you utterly deal with the person that everyone shall know that you dealt with the person thoroughly? That the person shall seek death but not find it until you are thoroughly spent with that person who dared?

Did Jesus do that? No. So there is no issue here.

Thanks for the compliment in your last sentence..now calm down..god formed Judas and knew him before he was born, then destined him for a special task..which is - helping the prophesy to come true by betraying Jesus..without betrayal Jesus will not die according to the story..agreed anyone could have done the betrayal,..I'm asking a different view to the popular narratives that Judas is the bad guy..he might be a greed but he did the right thing to betray Jesus because that's what Yahweh a.k.a Jesus Christ wanted to achieve.. Judas should get some recognition not condemnation..he played a vital role in your salvation.thanks
I answered you on the fact that you said he was not a murderer but a betrayer.

So it's obvious you have no answer to that.

So to cover your shame you have moved to repeat yourself on the Judas issue which I and even others have answered already. So your repeating yourself is not a counter but rather just shows you have nothing to say.

Is it not clear that it is you man who is in confusion? Clearly there is no confusion on God's side.

So stop putting your own confusion on God as depicted in your caricature. The caricature is you and the confusion remains with you.

Who destined him to be a betrayer?

Judas wasn't a muderder.., a betrayer ,yes.
So you do not know a person who conspires to commit a crime is guilty of that crime eh?

If you security guard conspires with people who he knows hates you and want you dead and then opens your gate for them to come in and then they kidnap you, and eventually kill you, you think he shall be arrested for betrayal?

Gosh Unaself? When it comes to God, Una like to reason wetin no make sense.

The thief on the cross, if he was soliloquizing, "Ahh, why on earth did I become a thief," would have had forgiveness?
He rather faced Jesus to tender his plea.

You repent and ask for forgiveness.

Judas should have consulted God for forgiveness.
The Bible didnt say we should only regret our actions and promise ourselves we wont do it again. It mandates us to pray for forgiveness.

"Forgive us our sins as we forgive our trespassers "

That is genuine repentance.

Im Done.
Now you have moved to the thief on the cross and then to just repeating yourself.

There is nothing further for me to say. This matter is done.

Lol. Another bunch of lies and gibberish to taint God bad.

James 1:13-15 NIV (New International Version)

When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
You mind them?

They would soon come and tell you that because God said He created Evil means He is Evil. Like because the creator of sniper says he created sniper, means he is sniper.

When clearly the creator of sniper(poison) is different from poison his creation and certainly not does not make him poison.

But because they want to condemn God they would act like they don't understand the difference.

Did he go to Christ for repentance. He did not repent he only regretted.
There is a difference between repentance and regret.

He should have found Christ or better still find the Apostles and reveal his regret and they will all pray together for forgiveness.

He never repented
He only regretted.
The Bible clearly stated he repented.

So your trying to change it to regret or that he should have gone to the person who he has keed or to his disciples does not change the outcome.

lol. Like I said earlier, funny people. Do you know that Christ already knew who was going to betray him ? Leave thief aside.

He knew already even before Judas WAS BORN . John 6:64, John 13:18, Psalm 41:9, John 13:26, Matthew 26:25. My brother, I don’t want to argue too much, but if God wants you to be bad, you will be bad. If He wants you to be good, you will. It was still God that hardened the heart of Pharaoh despite all the warnings and plagues just to teach him a lesson.

Like one of my mentors Wale Adenuga used to say : “ We are nothing but ‘pencils’ in the hand of God our creator” Do have a nice week ahead. Cheers !
Doesn't remove the fact that Judas had the choice not to be the one but he chose to be.

All these pharaoh you people quote up and down had already chosen to be bad which is proven by the fact say em no fear to hold God's people in captivity for years to the point God had to send Moses himself!

So if God hardens the heart of an already bad person, what is the problem there na? Shebi Pharaoh had the option to let God's people go since but em wan prove himself. So it's only right that na lie, no turning back for you.

So it is not true that if God wants you to be bad, you chose to be and it is only right that you chop your consequences, shikena!

You still missed it

Restitution is the act of restoring something lost, damaged, or stolen to its rightful owner (or compensating them directly),

Whereas atonement is the act of making amends, reconciling a broken relationship

Dont mixed them together
What is the point of restitution? Is it not to make amends aka atonement?

So they are already mixed.

This is a fact. We probably would be reading a different story today.
Something like;

"And when Iscariot came back to his senses, he wept bitterly. He ran to Peter and asked, "Where is the Lord?" Peter looked at him in anger and said, "Aren't you the one who revealed Him? He has been led to the cross in Golgota. Getttaout of my sight before I wound you with the sword.

And Iscariot ran in tears. He went to the cross and knelt and wept, saying Lord please find a place in your heart to forgive your servant. I regret my actions. And Jesus in His pain opened his eyes and said, Judas, though you were acursed, yet mercy has found you. You are forgiven,"

Judas never gave us the chance to read something like this. He went to commit suicide.
What a shame.
Unfortunately, it could not have gone as you wish. For the Bible clearly told us he repented Matthew 27:3–5 but obviously it did not work which is proven by his suiciding himself.

Lol. It doesnt work that way.

Before the Devil tempted Judas to betray Jesus, he was first and foremost a thief who used to steal from the money box.

So its not like Judas did people a favour to betray Jesus to save the world. No. That makes God evil to use a man to achieve a purpose he can fulfil in other ways. Stop making God sound wicked with the predestination stuff. A prophecy about Jesus betrayal didnt say that the person would be a thief.

Judas was a thief, then got tempted to get more money, but this time with another man's life involved.

Morale: Your habit could be what the Devil needs to tempt you to do evil.
Tell them ooo!

They are just out to paint God bad unjustly.

Does this means Jesus left with a grudge?

Does this mean he did not forgive 77x77 times?

Does this mean Jesus let the sun go down with a grudge?

Does this mean he prayed to God while not forgiving?
Grudge? Do you hold a grudge with a piece of paper that tears from your notebook?

There is nothing to begrudge here.

This is simply a case of turning your back on someone who you warned not to do that evil thing to you, yet he did.

There is nothing more to be done abi you here say Jesus do Judas anything?

Ehn, no issue na!

Roycemadeit:
Your argument is that because the Bible never explicitly says God influenced Judas, he must have acted entirely on his own volition.

But does the Bible always reveal the full extent of God's involvement in human actions? Judges 14:4 says God was seeking an occasion against the Philistines through Samson.

The people could see Samson acting, yet the narrative reveals a divine purpose behind it.

Why assume that what the text doesn't explicitly say about Judas proves God had no involvement?

Absence of an explicit statement is not proof of absence, especially when the same Bible portrays God as directing human affairs to fulfil his purposes.
My statement contains no assumptions but clearly stating everything as it is.

Assumptions is your thing not me!

So clearly for you to run to assumptions is clear that you have no rebuttal of all that I have said.

So there is nothing here to address.
Christianity Etc › Re: Jesus Christ Would Have Forgiven Judas Iscariot if He Had Repented! by Vdestr0: 12:40pm On Oct 18

For aesthetics' sake, perhaps Jesus had to warn Judas so the story could portray him (Jesus) as the victim of betrayal. Jesus came specifically to die for humanity's sins, he pronounced woe on the person whose betrayal supposedly helped bring the redemption of mankind! grin

Judas was necessary to God's plan, why is he blamed while God gets the glory?

And if Jesus knew he would rise again in less than three days, the sacrifice was hardly equivalent to permanent death. I, Roycemadeit, would gladly endure three months of death if I knew I would return. More importantly, Satan was the real mastermind, not Judas, or should I rather say God was the real mastermind and Jesus too grin[/b]
Good thing you used perhaps meaning assumptions and your imaginations. Consequently not true!

Everyone knows warning has the intent of stopping you from doing a thing you want to do.

Thus, Jesus warning Judas clearly meant to stop him from betraying him and thus not suffer the consequences thereof.

But being the eve that you are, it's no surprise you would bring in such assumptions
