But,before I do,
I would like to share a story with you.

I stumbled upon a book which has enjoyed the coziness of my library for too long and hadn't served it's purpose.

I decided to feast on it's knowledge and share part as dessert.

Well,it's a linear equation which goes thus;

A dream+ A team + A theme= Millionaire Streams.

Complicated?

I'll explain...

1) A dream: This simply means having a vision of what you want. In this case,it's to be a millionaire. Attached to having dreams should be a burning desire and positive mindset.

2) A team: A popular saying goes thus " two heads are better than one". You need to be surrounded by like minds who will fast-track the process of achieving your goals.

3)Theme: Having a millionaire model to follow will give u inspiration to succeed.

Easy in'nit?

Now, let's get to the meat and potatoes of this email.

THE STEPS TO MAKE YOUR FIRST MILLION.

1)Decide it's okay for you to become a millionaire.

Don't join the bandwagon of those who foolishly program their minds into thinking that being wealthy is an abominable act. Think of ways to create wealth that support your beliefs and values.

2) Constantly paint the picture of wealth in your mind: Most millionaires firstly, believe it ,then they see it. Even the Holy Book acknowledges this.

3) Spend less than you earn: A simple way to do this is by budgeting. Pay yourself first. Always deduct 10% off your income for savings. Do this consistently to see results.

4) Investment is the difference: When you constantly invest,you create a second stream of income which will augument whatever you're earning.

Never cluster your texts.

Make them short and punchy. It makes for easy reading.

Today's audience is said to have a lower attention span than that of a goldfish. So you don't want to do things that make people scared to read your text.

I see a lot of people rushing to create their Upwork profile. Creating a profile is secondary —you need to learn how to write first else you will get frustrated.

You need to practice as much as you read/study. That's the only way to learn effectively; learn and practice.

I think you should pay heed to crazeworld's review of your copy. He raised salient points.

I'd just add a couple of things:

1. The subject line could use a lot more curiosity. I mean seeing a subject line like that will make me go "and so effing what?"

You could have added more curiosity with something like this:

Can you do this for 13 hours everyday?

That immediaty causes an itch that your readers will be dying to scratch. The only way to scratch it? Open the damn email.

2. You could have started with the quote from his trainer. And make it interesting.

I would have done something like this:

Tiger Woods trainer just set the internet on fire with a recent revelation...

Telling the world that T. Woods trains for 13 hours a day, has everyone asking one question:

How? Where did the energy come from.

Etc. Etc.

Good job, though . You people are starting to grab the concept.

I send it as is. When delivering the job just attach the emails as a word document.

As a content writer, I need to open a can of worms whereby we have too many writers out there. We have Indians, Philippines, Bangladesh et al who make the job of content writing difficult to win from client as writer, and as rightly pointed out by @cut.ezt.

They charge less than you can charge most especially on Fiverr. Upwork is still the best platform from my experience so far.

Guess what? If you specialise on a niche like email copywriting/marketing, then you are on your way to securing the right customer and towards financial freedom. Like the boss @Ven.zal aptly stated, you just don't be a 'GENERALIST', but a 'SPECIALIST'.

In this wise, my capsule advice is that as an Email Copywriter, you will need to have your words/content to be error free.

But I do believe that you attract what you build. There's a reason why Sizzlers will charge you N1200+ for the same plate of rice Iya Basira will sell for N250.

The way you POSITION yourself on these platform matters a lot.

1. Setting up a befitting profile on the copywriting niche. List of words to include in profile to rank high in search, and getting related jobs on feeds.

2. Can't think of one for now.

3. EVERYTHING necessary boss! You hinted us on the importance of research... the 80/20 rule. It would be nice to be able to explore other research tools outside of Amazon reviews.

1 = I am going to tell you the truth, I am the last guy to ask about ranking. I don't pay attention to that stuff. I simply write what I know speaks to clients on my profile and go hunt for jobs. Just sprinkle in words that you'd want to rank for like email copywriting. Have it close to the top of your profile, once in the middle, and once towards the end. I heard that tip once, don't know if it works.

3 = It's just email bro. Research is strenuous only when you have to write those long-form sales pages.

For emails, marry Google and Youtube. You'd do just fine.

1- The only thing holding me back is unavailability of a proper ID card(I only have a school ID which I guess can't be used)
2-how to pitch the main point or sales link in the email in a way that won't sound desperate or forcing them to Act
3- Sir,you said something of Chatting with Clients e.g during convo with Brett kitchen, so sir what are the possible question clients throw at you in order to test your knowledge about the work(I'm asking so I wouldn't be caught off guard when I reach that that phase.
And lastly, Is there a tool to check the grammatical errors of a a job done before submitting to the client.

1 = You should try and get an ID. But unless things have changed, Upwork will not ask for your ID right now until you are made a top-rated contractor.

2 = Good question. When writing copy, you don't want to sound desperate. It'd be like a NEEDY guy trying to get a gal. We all know how that works out.

The same applies to copy. Sounding needy will repel a lot of subscribers.

To avoid hard pitches in an email, use stories, metaphors, news, and all those other things we talked about.

You just have to be conscious of not sounding desperate.

Not all the time. Those emails are not in sequence.

When emails are in a sequence they are LINKED to one another.

So I could send an email today and talk about 3 things that can make you X.

Then at the end of the email, I would say "in tomorrow's email, I will give you the other 2 things to make you X."

That's what a sequence is. It is what the essential oil emails are.

Depends on a lot of factors. When you start out, there will be a lot of time for you to deliver quickly. You can use that as an advantage. But it'd get to a point when you can't deliver that fast due to a pile of projects in hand.

To answer your question...

Using American or British English depends on the client you are writing for.

An American client will definitely want you to write in American English.

And the same goes for a British client.

For every other country, I go American.

For those not sure about the differences between these two styles of English, this is another place where Grammarly can help.

When I have to write in American English, I simply change the setting to AE. And vice versa.

Nice. The concept of contrasting between two opposites is great.

You showed them TWO people with the same problem.

One used the product and solved the problem.

The other was skeptical,

You didn't complete it though.

In email copywriting, this concept is called HEAVEN and HELL.

You paint the picture of good (heaven) and bad (hell).

In this case, you could have talked about the other lady who was skeptical about the product... how the problem continued to plague her... and how it even ruined her social life.

You could also have elaborated a bit about the LIFESTYLE benefits the first lady who used the product got from using the product.

Because note, it's not really only about growing her hair, it is also the LIFESTYLE benefits that come with it.

For example, you could have said something like:

since using XX product, her hair is now fuller like a celebrity's.

These days when she uploads how pics on FB, everyone is commenting about her more beautiful her hair looks.

Because of these comments, her self-esteem is exploding every day.

She is smiling more... going out more... meeting new people etc etc

It'd be even more powerful if this is a testimonial directly from the horse's mouth.

I hope you get the idea.

sometimes, a job posted 10 mins ago on video production, UI design, etc will have about 5 proposals.

Oh, okay. I get your point. It's mostly those article writing and blog post writing jobs, though. Filipinos, Indians, and Pakistanis reign supreme in those categories.

That is going to arouse a ton of curiosity. And in writing emails, your ability to sprinkle in a heavy dose of curiosity will help a lot.

You did it again at the end of the copy by teasing them about a secret without giving full details.

You have kind of caused an itch that they'd be naturally inclined to 'scratch'. And the only way to do that is to click on the damned link. That's why curiosity is powerful.

I have a little correction, though...

The TURN was too sharp. It'd throw a lot of people off.

What I am talking about is the part where you went "you don't want this for yourself?"

The transition, in my opinion, was too sudden.

You could have fed them a lot more details to ramp up desire before asking:

How would you want this for yourself?

Overall, you did amazing.

That is a good email.

I think you could have made it more interesting by directly painting a picture of what you are implying.

For example:

Did you remember the last time you were stressed out about the needs of your kids... your husband... and even your parents?

How did it make you FEEL?

You want to evoke emotions. That's how you drive response.

I liked the way you transitioned from the story to sales with this:

"Speaking of worries, there is this fantastic coloring book I think you should check out,"

One final thing, you shouldn't always hyperlink the Name of The Product you are trying to sell them.

There are other ACTION phrases you can link that'd make more sense to click on.

Overall, I think that was a brilliant email. Well done.

Go to settings. Change your category to writing. And take out those other skills you added earlier. Now, fill up your profile with things like writing, content writing, etc.

Normally na the grace of God Upwork take dey approve account (My first upwork account I paid a guy 5k on Nairaland to help me open it after I had been rejected like 4 times).

I think it's covid-19 that made them ease their restrictions to help people dismissed from their jobs work from home.

That method has been working since before Covid. I don't think Upwork became less strict with approvals because of Covid. The only change they effected due to Covid is allowing you faster access to income realized from hourly projects. I thus think this method might work for a long time still.

I have some questions as regards Auto-responders. I understand it's an email discipline that is relational in nature and used to to bond with the subscribers so as build cordial and mutual relationship with them as well.

Now my question is since autoresponders come in sequence, must each mail always include a link that will prompt them to click so as to make them read the next email?

Some clients may decide that for like the first 5 emails they send out to their lists, there should be no selling. Just pure content.

In that case, the emails you write wouldn't contain a link.

The world is right now moving from the job economy to the skill economy.

And it took one rude message from Covid-19 to UnCloth this truth before our very eyes.

If you go take stock right now of how many people have lost their jobs over the last 3 months, your jaw will crack open in amazement.

The truth now is… having a high-demand skill is the way to go.

And the best types of skills to focus on are DIGITAL SKILLS.

Because…

More and more businesses are springing up all over the corners of the internet every single day.

These businesses may decide not to necessarily hire full time staffs.

They may just decide to work with contract workers blessed with certain skills that they are in need of.

And that’s where the OPPORTUNITY is at.

The only digital skill I have really strived to master so far is copywriting.

I am right now NOT able to teach full-scale copywriting because I don’t think I have climbed up to that wrung yet.

But I can teach email copywriting because I have a vast knowledge of it.

I may now sound like a broken record, but the idea is to furnish you with a digital skill that pays well.

Now, even if by what you have seen so far you decide that you don’t want to do email copywriting… and you are struggling with your finances, take this simple advise: LEARN A SKILL.

Commit to learning as much as you can about that skill.

When you are done, you will have no problem with hooking clients.

They are on Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer.com, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram… and even in your church!

They are literally everywhere.

These clients are NOT running away.

So concentrate more on becoming freakin’ good at whatever digital skill you choose to learn.

Do you know the best part about learning digital skills?

You could build a thriving business with it down the line.

Maybe create an agency with a full staff that service other businesses with your skill.

You could decide to pour the money you make from selling your skills to other online businesses.

And that’s how you start to earn more, rest more, and enjoy more FREEDOM.
