Kelklein: Follow me carefully:
There is what they did up there.. just arithmetic.. ever heard of compound interest.
Though they applied some element of greed.
The interest is stated clearly there. 13.74%..
At the end of first month 400,000 becomes 455,000 (+13.74% interest)
If you pay say 99,000, balance becomes 356,000
*at the end of second month, the interest takes 356k up to 405,000
If you pay 99,000, your balance becomes 306,000
*at the end of the third month, the 13.74% takes the 306k to 348,000
You pay 99,000, your balance becomes 249,000
..the money continues that way till the 9th month when ot would be around the last 99,000
You could decide to pay off along the way, they simply calculate the balance at that point and tell you.
99,000 times 9 which amounts to 891,000 - a whooping 491,000 increase, is just greed.
Where I fault them is that percentage interest on loan repayment should not be done on monthly basis.. Interest are calculated on yearly basis and spread across the month equally.. e.g the 13.74% is divided by 9 to give about 1.5% on monthly balance. This is what most Nigerian banks do. But online loan sharks used the entire percentage to calculate your interest on a monthly basis. That is wrong.
My candid advice.. avoid them as much as possible. Anyone giving you an interest of over 100% on a loan in less than 1 year is not helping but punishing you.. You deserve an accolade for this breakdown. Are you a teacher? |

Why wont Nigerians default on loan apps.
Just imagine, fairmoney wants to give me 400k to pay back 900k in 9 months.
Do they seriously think I will pay back that money?
I just need cash to support my business.
I was expecting 400k to be around 600k in 6 months

Mrdellychy: What's your plan for irrigation? If you don't have , forget about planting anything this year (this is mid-Nov and rain is bidding farewell in the South already). Whatever you plant now will get burnt/dried up by Dec/January drought. You can start something by March/April next year. But if you hav irrigation set up, from the available options provided, okra is your best bet as a newbie. Tomato and cucumber are not for newbies. With the current price of fuel, Its not economical using irrigation for maize, cassava, pawpaw...but if you prefer any of them, you may hav to wait till next year when rain resumes. Shalom Thank you for this. Please can you help me with more info on the okra. Like what is the least capital requirement for profitability |

Johniie: You’ve made a powerful point here about how the message of Christianity is often misinterpreted. It’s heartbreaking to see how judgment and shame can drive people away from their families and the church. Instead of offering love, forgiveness, and understanding, some Christians focus on condemning others, forgetting that none of us are without sin.
The Gospel teaches compassion, grace, and humility. Jesus himself welcomed those society cast aside, showing them kindness and understanding. We’re called to lift each other up, not to keep people down with constant reminders of their past mistakes. Correcting others should always be done with empathy, knowing that we, too, are flawed and need forgiveness.
Thank you for sharing this perspective. It’s a reminder to all of us to reflect on how we treat others, especially those who may need love and acceptance the most. If we can approach each other with the heart of the Gospel, we can create a community where people feel safe to grow, learn, and find their way back to God. I also recently met someone into fish farming. He is seriously encouraged me to forget about planting and start fish farming.
I really want your help guys. Which one should I go for? I want to sell some of my properties and raise like 250k to 300k.

TVTM2023: The race is not for the swift nor battle for the strong, many of the problems confronting christians themselves are background problems eg blindspots .
After salvation, its deliverance from idol spirits and ancestral spirits ,township, dynasty, state, tribal, national or parental. Without making the tree good,it will breed corrupt fruits. A blindspot is only what God can show to you about YOURSELF or what happened to you! Also you may be a victim of a particular sin, trespass, transgression or iniquity in particular! Its when you come to God he will show you how it came into your life(roots) , how it started operation, administration before manifestation! For Isaiah the major prophet,it was filthy lips . He was delivered. For moses it was anger For Mary Magdalene- it was Harlotry, prostitution, lust and sexual additction For eli the priests sons,it was Womanizing. So understand it all.
That is why there are several types pf deliverances Deliverance from sin Deliverance from satan and demonic possession Deliverance from curses Deliverance from Corruption Deliverance of the SOUL from hell fire Deliverance from falling ie feet Deliverance from Abominations! Oga abeg abeg. E don do |

The guy would make it look like he was the Jesus Christ that died for the world. He always preached against sin, emphasized morality every time Turns out the guy was molesting several ladies in the fellowship. Fingering them, making sex calls, etc. I always felt unholy whenever I was around him, not until his secrets were exposed Alas, he was a man like me |

It pains me that many people who claim to be Christians don't actually know what it means to be Christians.
They have zero knowledge of God, always partnering with the devil to cause problems in the name of God.
I pray for them, that they come to know the Father, and his son Jesus Christ, and who they are in him.
I went out preaching in a neighborhood some times ago, and I met a lady. She was on the phone, and she sounded pretty upset.
I waited patiently for her to finish with her call, then I asked her what the matter was. She responded that it was her useless sister who was hell bent on bringing shame to the family name.
How so? I asked She told me that the sister had gotten pregnant out of wedlock and gave birth to a boy more than a year ago.
That ever since then, she has become more wayward.
Infact it has gotten worse. For the past 3 months she has refused to come home. She is living with a boy, very soon she will bring back another pregnancy. She narrated.
I could hear her mother from inside yelling and cursing the wayward daughter for wanting to bring more shame to a whole women's fellowship president in church.
And it dawned on me why the supposed wayward daughter ran away from home to live with a boy. (Assuming she is even living with a boy)
No body can grow in that kind of environment. Nobody can feel comfortable with that kind of environment.
I mean, every time you are constantly reminded of your mistakes and your past.
You can't step out for 1 hour, you will be reminded of your illegitimate child.
Haba!!!!
And these people are supposed to preach forgiveness and reach out to sinners...
Haba!!!!! I am not saying Christians should tolerate wrong doing ooo. But should we throw away the baby with the bath water?
I just looked at the sister that was ranting. This one sef may have done several abortions.
Na who Dem catch be ole. Who Dem no catch be holy.
If God were to treat us all like that, who for still dey alive?
We all have our own flaws. We all make mistakes. If your own has not been made obvious yet, don't mock others.
The Gospel does not make us hypocrites.
Let's Learn to correct others in love. Putting ourselves in their shoes.
He without sin should cast the first stone. |

Captain4Jehovah: The Creator gives man the government of the earth (from the beginning) to rule it BUT WITHOUT SCREENING Him from his affairs. But man fails to acknowledge that POWER who sustains the universe. From here man's problem begins. When we tell it to God our problem IN RIGHTEOUSNESS and SUBMISSIVENESS OF OUR WILL, He is EVER READY to make things better. What I inferred from the OP concern is about the state of things in this country not about whether God exists or not. As religious we are, things ought to get better since we believe there is a SUPERNAL POWER that answers prayers but rather it becomes worse. This and many more concerns about the statehood of things could induce someone to forget about the presence of a HIGHER POWER called GOD. In short, prayers are answered. Our government leaders should be CONSCIOUS and in AWE of God. You are a big fool. You don't have something to say, you just want to say something. |

plaetton: You know that's just an educated guess, at best.
If scientific investigation, the foundation of everything we currently know about the universe, cannot explain spirit or God, then what are basis for a belief not grounded in the immutable laws of math and physics? If we don't have foundational basis (science) with which to understand reality, then it all comes down to " just believe me bro" . Scientific investigation is great. Unless you come to Nigeria where nothing makes scientific sense |
Christianity Etc › Re: God Does Not Exist: Nigeria Is The Best Proof by Versitee: 6:54am On Nov 11, 2024 |
plaetton: The debate here is that every Nigerian believes in God. Every God believer believes that God is the architect of their fortunes, personal and collective. Every God believing Nigerian prays multiples times a day from childhood to old age. Churches and Mosques pray multiple times each day and night. Offerings, vigils, tithes, seed sowing, evangelism are all done to beseech and placate a God that is expected to acknowledge, bless and protect the faithful. Faith, worship, offerings , prayers, etc, are deemed spiritual investments from which celestial dividends are expected, and much much needed in this darkest hour of Nigeria's checkered existence.
If faith and worship are spiritual investments, at what point in our personal and national life do we put a stop loss , cut our losses, and perhaps begin to consider other investment options?
For goodness sake, Nigeria's investment in the God stock has plummeted in value over the past 200yrs (?) to zero.
What gives ? You assume wrong Many believers in God are not investing in God to make the country better. A lot of them invest their time in prayer to give them the strength to navigate through the troubling times. Because they know that the world will never get better. At least not until the resurrection. The whole world lieth in the power of the wicked one. So people who are investing in God for a better society ought to investigate their stands. A better society is only possible by govt policies and governance. Not God |

I don't think the existence of God should be a debate. You can't look at the universe and think you can observe God.
God is a spirit, not a scientific fact.
That is the issue. Everything else can be explained by science (or almost everything)
So why can't God. |
