Fish farming is not for the weak if you don't have good capital and a scale plan before going into that business it is already done for..

I see people put fishes in a close confined small space and think they make profit from that I just smile and go my way.

You are very correct. Without serious capital, forget it in this business. I remember my experience when I stocked 6000 fingerlings. I had just done my wedding and decided to put money I had saved into fish farming. I was using concrete ponds to raise 2-3 thousand previously. I never lost. But I choose to switch to earthen ponds and that's where i learnt a huge lesson.

Covid 19 hit plus Buhari's economy started biting. My business slowed down practically. I could not keep feeding them. Out of over 900k invested, when i decided to sell off, everything that i got back was around 93k. I am not kidding.

Cannibalism, birds and ofcourse fish left behind in the earthen pond by the previous owner, dealt with me. The previous owners fish left in the pond, really did a number on my guys. I counted about 12 of them. The least weighed 6kg. Imagine. They ate my guys wella.

I had to suspend raising to table size. I went and understudied catfish breeding and it is now one of my side hustles. The capital outlay is quite much but I have put together everything I need now. My hatchery can produce up to 150k plus fingerlings and constantly. Feeding them is not a joke.

I am still learning. I call my boss and just go to be around him from time to time in pursuit of knowledge.

Nothing is impossible when the required knowledge is available. Get that knowledge.

Can I start with 300 fingerlings. I want to raise to table size

unless you'll live in a place like Abakpa but then, you'll have to pay transport daily to GRA.. The place is closer to GRA though.

Abakpa has cheaper accommodations compared to areas like GRA where the company is located. But you should be ready to battle with challenges of living in a low-income area such as epileptic electricity supply, insecurity etc and you shouldn't expect a fine house with that amount. A public "face me I slap you ' is what that 60k can get you.

1. How far is abakpa to gra? In terms of cash, how much tfare
2. What is the realistic amount for accommodation in GRA for a single room.
3. when you say insecurity, please I need clarification. Kidnapping, armed robbery, ipob etc.

Please stop disparaging our company online, we are also facing serious challenges in running our business besides we are not forcing you to take the loan!

It was when I was still young, naive and ignorant I usually Judge Nigerians who always choose the Fraudulent Path and Other Vices Ways to survive most especially those from the Trenches.

But as I grew Older, Wiser and Vast in life. I figured out Nigeria was solely built on EVIL.

Personally I detest cheating others and I have never scammed anyone in my Life. Although there are small Runs and Manipulation in here and there in business. But I'm saying it with my Full Chest that I have never Scammed or Destroyed the life of my fellow Human Being.

I personally know at least Three Nigerian Pastors and Imams who Cheat their Workers at will and I'm not talking about small cheating here. Imagine a person calling himself men of god taking 60% out of 100% of what is supposed to be fully yours every month.
