The issue of worship very intricate and central to our belief as Christians. Why? Because the major we were created is for the pleasure of the Almighty, and in order to totally please Him, we have to worship.God craves our worship, He seeks worshippers, that is why He asked His son to come and die for man, that was why he saved Noah and his family and started afresh with them. Most Christians have gotten this great gift of worship all wrong. Worship is not just by words of mouth, God who is a spirit expects us to worship in spirit and truth. he sees deep down into our hearts and as such, can not be deceived by our facial expressions. Worship has to be from the bottom of your heart. What most people often refer to as worship is going to church, singing hymns, or singing slow songs. Now, all this are just part of worship. Worship is actually everything about our life. From waking in the morning to sleeping at night. In everything we do or say or think or hear or see, we should worship the creator. You do not necessarily have to close your eyes to worship. It could be in the work you do, it could be by meditating on the word, it could be by encouraging others, it could be in your giving, it could be in your going to church, it could even be in your sleep. Whatever gives pleasure to the almighty is an act of worship. We as Christians should begin to cultivate this habit of worship and i am sure, we would begin to see the Lord anew in our life. Amen. |
