Please, how did you know you did well in the JFA?
I actually finished it! Unlike the other sessions where the timer cut me off, I managed to answer every single question in that part.

I mean, universities award degrees based on "character and learning".

Character comes first. I'm worried.

If you didn't pick safety over any other thing everytime it came up, be worried as if you didn't complete your numerical reasoning.

There was a time I picked safety as second best because I was receiving prompts of answering slowly and taking time to read. I pressed my accelerator and started messing things up.
there is this one specific question in the job-focused section. It asked which of these best describes me? I do not review others' private information…I accept instructions from my managers and the last option was all about supporting how my organization can build stronger ties with my communities. I was just like if you're looking to work with a company like NLNG, you literally need all three! You can’t leak private info, you must follow your manager, and you have to maintain that community relationship. That was the moment I realized those guys really came prepared to stretch our thinking

This is a very valid concern. Is it possible to do really well in inductive and numerical reasoning, but still be disqualified due to incompatibility in the Job-focused assessment?

If yes, that would be quite a shame for those who are super confident in their answers for the others.
you’re right…If you were observant during the job-focused questions, you’d see they were all centered on their core values. There was one question where I almost chose an option that would have compromised safety. The other options weren't necessarily bad, but they would have pushed safety to the side. In my opinion, those job-focused sections carry their own mark, just like the numerical and the other sessions. I stand to be corrected sha

I envy people like you. I'm an overthinker and perfectionist, and I almost always take my time to do things well. This might be considered a kryptonite in a recruitment where time is of the essense, but I just hope that they don't compromise excellence and attention to detail while encouraging speed.
Exactly! That’s just my kind of person…I’m thorough. I was being so careful during the job-focused assessment that the system actually sent me a pop-up notification. That “We noticed that you are slow, if you can’t see the question clearly contact your recruiter.” Did anyone here got that notification as well?

I get what you mean. I took the assessment on the second day, and the way the screenshots of the assessment questions had flooded the WhatsApp groups by Friday? I don't even know what to expect.

Someone who took the assessment on Sunday said they saw 5 questions repeated for the numerical. I was bewildered.
I heard that too... but the thing is, it’s not really about seeing the questions beforehand, they repeated one practice question in those bubbles, but I failed it. The real thing is after seeing them(questions), were they actually able to solve them correctly? Back in secondary school and Uni, I noticed a pattern, people who always claimed to have seen the exam questions usually ended up failing more than those who actually used their heads. I just sha know that If it’s meant for you, it will come. No need to stress over who saw what.

Honestly. I was so confident in my speed from the practice tests but that numerical assessment had me shaking. Got to the 10th question with about 40 seconds left. I just looked at the question for about 10 seconds and decided on an answer.

Anything to avoid possible deductions? I'll take it.
Honestly, if you even managed to get to Question 9 or 10, you really tried. Before I wrote my test I’d heard people complaining about the time, so I actually prepared well with the practice questions and tried my best to beat the clock. But the truth is, I just couldn't. I was being so careful trying to get the answers right that I couldn’t meet up.

If u were sure of those 5 questions u might have a upper hand. In a test like this, lots of people skip questions or input answers they aren't sure of just to beat time.
it’s going to take miracle for me to cross to the next stage after what happened. And I’m not really the type to bank on miracles. But who knows? Maybe God wants to use this whole mess to prove to me that miracles actually exist.

I always emphasize on practice, I know not everyone is a guru but with practice lots of applicants had their success stories about the NLNG Aptitude test, one thing applicants fail to understand is that Aptitude Test usually follow the same format that is Abstract reasoning, logical reasoning, verbal reasoning and situational judgment occasionally, they just add little or remove little. The same goes with the Assessment Center, it follows the same pattern, Behavioural and competency interview, group discussion, and presentations, as a candidate always prepare the format is already there it is left for you to practice.
For NLNG applicants asking about preparation materials for NLNG Assessment Center, an independent study guide for NLNG Assessment Center is available online here 👇

Always rely on the official portals for final information.
I’ve actually moved on from the stress of that test, I did well on the job-focused section, but the rest was a mess for me

The funny thing is that the more I solved the questions, the more shocked I became. Like, I know you guys are looking for the 1% of the 1%, but please, let the young breeeeeeeef!
I was still on Question 5 when I looked up and saw I had exactly 3 seconds left. Like someone said earlier, I felt like I’d failed my entire generation in that moment…. I don't even want to wrap my head around those shapes and bubbles, what exactly were there trying to test there. It was a total setup!

Finally off the one-week restriction….Honestly, that second CA really caught most of us off guard, after writing those numerical questions, I officially decided to take my japa plans much more seriously. I mean, 18 minutes for 10 (30plus) questions? And then each question having three children attached? I’m just praying they consider a more favorable grading scale because that was intense. But well, it is what it is. We move!
