For me it's the opposite. It was Barca before Messi. I liked Messi during the world cup games and his passion for excellence but I didn't fancy the hype. Everywhere you go Messi Messi Messi.

I became a Barca fan during the days of Neymar. Those days where he was popular for wearing the 100% Jesus headband. Then eventually started to like Messi as part of the club.

Messi is good. And banter aside, CR7 is also good. I try not to place them above each other. I just think they own/earn their space.

About the topic of this thread; I don't see anything wrong with wearing socks all the time. I do this. The only time I'm not in socks will be when I'm outside the house (i.e., on days I'm not in boots or sports wear)

Your friend just needs to ensure that he's not putting on the same socks he wore outside so as not to breed fungi.
And he should change them regularly. There should be one for walking around the house and another for bedtime.
Also depending on the weather, he can alternate between a thick and a lighter fabric.

Anytime I walk around the house for even 5 minutes without socks, it feels different. For me this has become a lifestyle. Not a stringent one, and maybe someday I'll snap out of it if need be.
