In life seldom do people believe that they are responsible for the kind of life they are living. You will often hear people say' is it my fault, that iam like this, is it my fault, that iam poor or broke, is it my fault, that i failed the exams, is it my fault that iam not what I should be. The truth is that, IT IS YOUR FAULT HOW YOU LIVE TODAY. Every one is the driver of his own life. Life is like a moving vehicle, when you are driving you either accelerate or decelerate. Moving fast or slowly, stoping and buying things or moving on. A popular saying by one of the world's guru in management says that ' the best way to predict the future is to create it. Instead of getting unhappy about your life, I have a good news for you you can determine your tomorrow if you do something different today. It was Newton that said ' to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. There is nothing like 'something for nothing', you must give up to grow up. Irrespective of your present circumstances how you will drive will be dependent on the information you have. You can speed up your progress if you will decide to accelerate. Your life is in your hand, take responsibility to make your life count.

Today our dear country Nigeria is acclaimed as the world capital of poverty with low per capital income and most people, living under the UN benchmark of less than One dollar per day.
The truth is that the poverty in Africa and Nigeria is self made, we as a people have decided to be like this either knowingly or unknowingly.
Poverty is not the just the absence of physical money or lack of possession of wealth, rather it is also the condition of the mind. No body was born wearing clothes every one came naked. This means acquiring wealth is possible. From my research more than 60% of Nigerian's population live on 'NOT ENOUGH' while 30% live on JUST ENOUGH and 10% live on MORE THAN ENOUGH.
The good news is that we can all move from not enough, just enough to more than enough. If we will do these few things. These list is not exhaustive.
1. Sleep is the father of Poverty: If you must do anything serious in this world you must learn to stay awake when others are sleeping.
2. Renew your mind and beliefs system: Your life today is the condition of your mind over the years from your childhood. Read!! Research!! Upgrade!!
3. Believe that the resources in this world is more than the people in this world, there is no scarcity of resources.
4. Wealth is both tangible and intangible: You must start investing in both tangible and intangible assets, no matter how small.
5. Forcefully collection of what is not yours can never make you have more.
6. Save a certain percentage of your income( maybe for future investment) no matter how small.
7. Think of solving problems for people and meeting people's needs
8. Always remember money is a medium of exchange, it's not the real deal but the value it carrys.
9. Development of thinking skills: the power to unlock the goldmine.
10. That you are born poor or average does not mean you will remain so in your life time. Determination is greater than resources.
11. Become dutiful: Take responsibility for your life.

Three words used, is what this post is essentially about, FEAR, ADVANCED-TEAM and RAPE. Two of the words are very common today, FEAR and RAPE.
FEAR is an advanced team that comes to rape people of their life and all they have worked for, over the years.
FEAR is a torment, FEAR is bondage, FEAR is crippling, FEAR can destroy, FEAR can ruin, FEAR has no pity, FEAR can kill. FEAR can stop you from adavancing. Fear has no friend, knows no culture nor cares if you are rich or poor.
Many people are afraid of so many things to day. Fear of death, fear of no job, fear of a failing marriage, fear of insecurity, fear of the future, fear of the unknown and so many.
To rape in this context is to take by force; FEAR is the master of it.
An advanced team is usually sent when an important personality or a political figure like a governor or president of a nation is to visit a place. They are sent to know how the environment is, interms of security and others. They confirm as soon as they have combed the environment and gives futher instructions if the place is safe and everything is in good condition for the arrival of the guest.That is exactly what FEAR is. FEAR is an advanced team that comes to your mind as a result of an information or otherwise, that is negative to your life. FEAR is not the REAL thing, if you allow this advance team to relax and be comfortable in your mind it will not be long it will definitely call for its subordinate to come and dine with you.
Some people hold welcome party for these advance team by allowing thoughts of fear to reside in their MINDS.
Many people have died today not because the sickness was too strong but because they allowed fear to rape them of their life.
Many have lost thier homes, marriages and investments and so many things today because they allowed MR FEAR to live with them.
" That which I greatly FEAR has come upon me" when you think and talk fear continously, it will rise up like a giant and bind you.
FEAR can be controlled never believe the notion that fear is an emotion that can't be controlled. You can choose to either accept the advance team or reject them by making your mind hostile to FEAR. Refuse to FEAR. One of the reasons they tell you not to run when you see a dog is because the moment you exhibit fear your guess is as good as mine.
Finally when thoughts of fear comes, do not accept it.Reject it immediately in your mind, then it will tell it's subordinate that your mind is not a good place to visit. Never talk fear as some people will casually say ' AM AFRAID IT WILL RAIN' must you use the word 'afraid'. Never think fear, just know that fear in your mind is not the real deal so don't dwell on it.
Then you can live happy and free.

I have asked this question in many occasions and research I conducted showed that 80% of people were in affirmative.
The question is why?
Many reasons have been stated ;cost of living, amount of salary, inflation and so many.
What then is the solution?
Increase in salary, reduce the cost of goods and services or what?
The answer is, YOU ARE WORTH WHAT YOU ARE. If you find yourself in a job that can not meet your basic needs, the next thing you here is other sources of income. How many people in the world today can not do business? No matter what you do to some people they will never be able to do business or invest in any. Then what is the solution?
The truth is you can double and triple your salary if you so desire.
How?
1. Increase productivity.
2. Read through your job description every weekend and develop strategies to upsacle it.
3. Find out what brings the greatest funds to your organisation and get involved directly or indirectly and see how you can make a positive increase to it.
4. Work your work
5. Never get involved in sabotaging your organisation for group or personal gain.
6. Have your own personal apriasal every month.
7. Never give excuses for not working the work
8. As you resume work everyday say the vision, mission and purpose of your organisation to yourself.
9. Daily spend a minimum of 1 hour studying about what you do
10. Never forget you are paid what you are worth.
These point if applied will definitely increase your paycheck directly (salary) or indirectly ( allowances and personal benefits)
After doing all these, there is no significant increase in your salary approach the organisation that you intend to resign and join another organisation and i can assure you, you would have left a mark in that organisation that will make you indispensable.

Someone is moving around freely does not say the least he is free.We often visit people in the prison and we find out they are usually confined to a cell. Their movements are restricted within a space. The truth is that the greatest prison humans can find themselves is THE PRISON OF THE MIND. In the next 10 years we will lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty. From the index of most international organizations many have discribed Nigeria as the capital of poverty. Nigerians population is about 200 million and the president anoucing his desire to take more than half this population out of poverty in 10 years is crucial in the history of Nigerians.Some vital issues we need to analyze are:
1. What is poverty in Nigeria?
2.What has the government done so far?
3. What is our responsibility as citizen and what can be done.
Plainly many will define poverty as a state of being poor or lack of money. With this defination if we give every Nigeria certain amount of money will that make them rich? The anwers is NO, If the whole money in Nigeria is distributed equally to all Nigerians, within 24 hours it will find itself in the hands of a few who know how it works, while others will still remain in a state of lack. I will not want to bore us with many statistics of poverty ratings with regards to Nigeria. Poverty in Nigeria is as Spiritual, Mental and physical .Poverty in Nigeria is not as much as not having physical resources as it is a mental state. If we consider countries that have moved from extreme poverty what is common amongst them is a change of mental processes.The system in Nigeria reproduces poverty over and over again because of the mental capacity of the citizen. Dealing with poverty in Nigeria is wholistic and must be treated as such. With the way our population is growing it will be dentrimental for us to increase in poverty as population increases. Just the way polio has been kicked out, I believe poverty can be kicked out in Nigeria also. In Nigerian those who don't have enough, far outweigh those who have more than enough. Poverty in Nigeria was imposed on us, by our mental weakness. Nigerians boast of the greatest sources of raw materials on earth. Poverty in Nigeria has been imposed on people due to wrong distribution of what is available.
Finally poverty in Nigeria is not the necessary the absence of basic necessities of life but the inability to produce wealth as a result of low mental capacity and a way of thinking.
The government has done remarkably well in an attempt to take Nigerians away from poverty over the last decades.Many intervention programmes has been done. The expenses and expenditure of Nigerians increases on a daily basis. I have not heard on radio or TV that the price of any commodity has gone down Never! But the government has done all they could to put in measures to increase the income of its population via these schemes. I must commend the various government so far with all they have done to alleviate poverty in Nigeria, but more still needs to be done.
The president's declaration goes to show that he has plans on ground on how to take 100 million Nigeria out of poverty. I must commend him for these bold steps.
The reason for these write up, is to see how we as citizen can take the words of the president and make it a reality in the next 10 years.
In summary what can you and I do.
During the time American had to make her first landing on the moon I recall how the president visited the space station and saw a janitor ( claeaner) and asked her why she was doing what she was doing. It was reported that her answer was. ' Am here doing what am doing to put a man on the moon. She was contributing her quota. It was most remarkable as she saw herself as amongst does who will make a difference in ensuring that the dream of the nation becomes a reality.
One of the greatest American presidents said ' think not of what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country. If we all think we have a role to play in taking 100 Million Nigerians out of poverty I think we will. It will start with our minds. Some of my suggestion are
1. Let's take Nigerians out of poverty first from thier minds by organising programmes that are geared to increase the capacity of the mind in the direction of finnace.
2. Data analysis is vital for planning and execution.
3. Our educational system must be taliored to make Nigerians rich
4. Finnacial assistant interms of loans and grants if available.
5. Proper distribution of resources and importation of cutting edge technology for our raw materials.
6. Rural development and capacity building
7. Mandatory savings among the working class not for retirement alone but for investment.
8. Inclusion of finnacial intelligence and personal development in our schools.
9. Direct Infrastructural development with local and foreign technology.
10. Every poor Nigeria must have a common goal to kick poverty away from thier minds and build a country we can all be proud of.
In the next 10 years we will change the indices and all statistics that had made Nigeria the capital of poverty.
