Imagine! War torn Ukraine is able to feed her citizen and still have enough not even to export but to donate. Nigeria, the audio giant of Africa in a time of peace can't even provide two square meals daily for her citizen.

Bad leadership is worse than war!

Politics / So Basically Tinubu Has Returned To Buhari's Era! by Victory662(m): 3:25pm On Feb 28
Subsidy is gone ---
Now he's paying about a trillion naira on subsidy; highest ever.
Let the market force determine the value of the naira --- Now he's pegged it at 1300/$.

Can somebody tell me how the impromptu decisions by Tinubu helped us as a nation?

Now inflation is soaring, there is hunger in the land with no solution in sight.
Ladies and gentlemen, I think with the above mentioned points of mine, I've been able to convince you that emiloko has nothing to offer Nigeria as her president. Thank you

Politics / Re: CBN Raises Interest Rate (MPR) To 22.75% by Victory662(m): 4:24pm On Feb 27
Godfullsam:

Lemme try

1. Increase in interest rate will slow down spending thereby reducing the volume of money in circulation.

2. It helps to increase the return (profits) on savings. If you Goan fix your money in the bank, your banks will pay you additional 22.7% of the amount you fixed in the bank after 1 years grin.
3. It will affect small and medium business aspirants who intend to loan money from the banks to start up their businesses (22.7%) interest rate nobi beans o shocked.

4. It is one of the greatest weapon used by monetary policy makers to fight inflation in any economy.

5. It is beneficiary for those who have enough money to spare (they will be encouraged to save and earn more). But it is big wahala for those who need money to spend ( young business aspirants because they will have to pay more interest for any amount borrowed) and if the business fails, OYO!
In the case of our present economic reality, the aim of jacking up the interest rate is to mop up excess money in circulation by encouraging savings and reducing spendings while beating down inflation as much as possible .
I have mentioned some advantages and disadvantages for you.

Say me thank you grin

Thank you. You do well

Sim na werey. If I'm the one, I won't near that useless peace deal. I would make sure the defected law makers were sent packing. The worst that would have happened is that they removed him by supreme court orders but then Wike too would have lost his relevance in rivers politics too. If court didn't remove him, he would have since won the battle.
But right now, the governor has lost control of the HOA and his commissioners.
What if the HOA now served him another impeachment notice? Who will defend him again, he will be booted out which was the initial plan

Politics / Why Is It So Difficult To Make Things Work In Nigeria? by Victory662(m): 5:22pm On Jan 31
Honestly I don't really understand why Nigeria is finding it difficult to exit this streak of backwardness. Is it overpopulation, lack of resources or just ineptitude of our leaders.

For me, I was thinking it wouldn't be hard to generate enough power to serve the country; especially after considering how much the government spends on generators to power up different agencies. Most times we borrow money as a country to supply generators and listers to power up the government agencies and projects. Can't the borrowed money be invested in power generation which is cheaper, cleaner and could also generate more revenue for the government.

Why can't we have a working refinery owned by the government. I understand crude oil has global price tag but the cost of shipping out crude and refined product back for local consumption could be channeled into something beneficial for the country.

We are eating up our animal hides here while other countries are tanning theirs and selling back to us as heathers. Some of these countries buy this hides from our local markets here.

We have a very expanse of uncultivated land yet we depend so much on importation of food.

Is national security that difficult to achieve?

What about setting up a plastic and ceramic recycling plants, it will clean up our environment and generate money at the same time.

What about establishing a textile industries?
Over 200M market is such a good place for textile industry to thrive.

I actually think turning the economy of Nigerian around is not a rocket science because I know so many areas our government is not doing well

What's your opinion?

Politics / Re: Sit-at-home Enforcers Working Against My Release, I’ll Never Forgive Them – Kanu by Victory662(m): 7:37am On Aug 09, 2023
LOVEALAIGBO:

Blame the Nigerian state that did the actual murdering (both overtly and covertly) and leave Mazi Kanu, who was responding to their evil and inability to fulfill their constitutionally required obligations, out of it!

What even Mazi Kanu may have failed to realise is that the bastards calling for and enforcing the sit-at-home....as well as those driving the narrative on social-media (like nairaland).....they all are in cahoots or in support of elements within and around the Buhari/Tinubu govt's! THEY don't want him released and it's THEM who are not obeying, or treating with contempt, a valid court order that freed him unconditionally!
Oga relax. U are always blaming Buhari and Fulani when u know that Kanu and his terrorist gang did the whole killings. Whoever that kills should be killed. Kanu never see anything
