ECOWAS Youth Ambassador Urges Presidency to Appoint Competent Youth Minister, Endorses Dayo Israel

The 156th ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, Emmanuel Agida, has called upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint a qualified and capable youth to lead the Ministry of Youth in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Agida, a former appointee of the APC-led administration of Osun State Government, conveyed this message in an official press release shared with the media. With the aim of ushering in a new era of youth empowerment and development, Nigeria's Ministry of Youth requires a dynamic, skilled, and seasoned leader.

Abuja Business man, Nwankwo writes FCT High Court to shut down Dr Stephen Akintayo's Gtex Homes over allegations of fraud

ABUJA – In a recent court application, Mr Kingsley Nwankwo has sought an order to shut down the operations of Gtext Homes Limited, a real estate property company based in Lagos, Abuja and Dubai.

The move comes after Gtex Homes allegedly failed to comply with an earlier Abuja High Court judgment ordering them to pay $18,000, representing a 2.5% commission on a successful facilitated sale of two properties in Dubai.

However, despite numerous attempts and demand notices to resolve the matter amicably, the company has allegedly refused to comply with the Abuja High Court judgment, prompting Mr Nwankwo to seek further legal recourse to close down Gtex Homes due to insolvency.

It is alleged that the reputation of the company has been tarnished in recent times due to its notoriety with non payment of commissions due by referrals, non payment of contractors, non remittance of investors’ rental incomes and dubious sale of unverified/unregistered second party lands both in Nigeria, Dubai, Canada, US and Dublin and a gamut of other allegations of fraudulent practices.

Many seemingly defrauded individuals and entities have been hesitant to pursue legal means of redress due to perceived delays in the justice system and law enforcement agencies, and his notorious style of frustrating investors to seek for a refund of a part of invested funds.

Aside from the financial aspect, Gtext Homes Limited has also been associated with a series of fraud cases. Victims have reported fraudulent schemes, including Ponzi schemes like the deceitful GVEST and Farms project that promised bogus returns on investment to investors but failed, paying only a handful whose testimonials are circulated online to lure more unsuspecting individuals. As we speak, there is NO Existing or functioning farm operated by Gtext, except the pilot scheme it showcased about 2years ago at its Sapphire estate Ikorodu.

The current court application, filed by Mr Kingsley Nwankwo at the Federal High Court Abuja, includes the Corporate Affairs Commission as respondents as it seeks to wind up Gtext Homes Limited, aiming to prevent further instances of fraud and protect the public from falling victim to their illicit activities.

Furthermore, Mr Nwankwo also cautioned the public to remain vigilant and cautious when dealing with the company.

It will also be recalled that among the aggrieved business partners/contractors is one Mr Adeshina Ogedengbe, the founder of POS Technology and Digital Services Ltd, who accused Stephen Akintayo of GText Homes in Lagos of breaching a contract agreement between them by refusing to pay him a balance of N2.9 million after Police forced him to pay an initial N12 Million.

“it was unraveled that Dr Stephen Akintayo have an ongoing criminal case (case ref number: 222004438863) in Dubai which led to a six months travel ban on him between November 2022 and May 2023. After a plea to release him on bail for only two weeks, he is yet to return to Dubai in May 2023.

Investigations has also proved he doesn't possess a developers license in Dubai neither has he ever had one, yet he advertised on popular media outlets and bloggers his plans to engage A-list music celebrities in constructing 180 units of luxury residential units in Dubai. Dr Akintayo has also never built or contracted any structure in Dubai or any part of the world except in Nigeria (some of which are either not completed or locked up and under investigations by the Nigeria's Economic Financial Crimes Commission EFCC while others do not exist physically)

Despite leveraging on some media platforms and some influencers to announce bogus real estate projects in Nigeria, it has been alleged that some of their projects have incomplete documentations.

FAMILY and EARLY LIFE:
He is an indigene of Oju LGA, Benue State and was born into the family of Mr. & Mrs Pius Ocho Agida, who are also native of the Igede Tribe. His father before his demise was a civil servant in the Benue State Ministry of Works and a two-term Councilorship aspirant in the then defunct, United Nigeria Congress Party in the March 15 1997 Local Government Elections.

CAREER
Emmanuel Agida began his political career as the Special Assistant on Media to the Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Affairs Osun State in May 2021, becoming Nigeria's youngest political appointee at the age of 17.

Before his political appointment, Emmanuel Agida served as the media manager to the Director of Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability, Coca-Cola Nigeria.

Emmanuel Agida had his primary and secondary Education in Lagos State at Flombest Private Primary School and Elias International Secondary School respectively.

In 2021, Emmanuel Agida got admitted to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the prestigious University of Benin. Emmanuel has a certificate in Global Politics from the International Business Management Institute, Berlin Germany, and an International Health Care Certification from Intelycare Nursing Institute, United States of America.

Emmanuel was an outstanding student and was therefore placed on a scholarship throughout his Primary and Secondary School Education. He also was the Senior Prefect at both Primary and Secondary School Levels, graduating to be among the top 10 secondary school students with the best result and emerging as the best student in his Department.

OSUN STATRUP SET TO HOLD STARTUP CONFRENCE: opens startup Ecosystem for investors

The theme for the Osun Startup Conference 2023, planned to take place between May 24 and 25, 2023, has been revealed by the Osunstartuphub, a group of young people dedicated to growing the startup ecosystem in Nigeria, particularly Osun state.

The team has declared that the conference's subject for this year is "The Road to Discovery" since, before any idea incubation can take place, a pathway to the discovery of feasible ideas must be established in the state. This year's edition will be focused on four major topics, namely startups, technology, real estate, and professional development, the team announced earlier today after hosting the executive meeting.

The event is slated to take place in Osogbo on May 24 and 25, 2023, and it will likely attract more than 1,000 youths from the state, making it the biggest meeting of young professionals in the region. Via the links on their social media handles, interested individuals can now register for the event.

Equally the Team praises the new regime of leadership in the state for prioritizing the interest of youths through the signing of the Osun Startup Bill, and other tech policy aimed at gearing development of the state through the startup ecosystem.

The team uses the medium to assure the state government of her support and call for partnership to develop proven and tested ideas in the state.

‘TheirWorld’ Confers Global Youth Ambassador on Ajayi Crowther University Graduate, Bayonle Erubami.

A graduate of History and International Studies, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo becomes Global Youth Ambassador of ‘TheirWorld’ organization.

Bayonle received the appointment on the 16th of March, 2023 after a full month of scrutiny. Their World is a global children’s charity in England committed to giving the most vulnerable children and young people a brighter future in their world.

They execute innovative projects to spearhead new concepts and generate possibilities that can affect people's lives. They are in charge of several campaigns to bring about global change and improve health and education for the most vulnerable children.. 

Bayonle is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), Serial Entrepreneur that has successfully founded Two businesses (CandyCafeNg, a treats store located in Abuja and BaytechGadgets, an online gadgets and accessories store. Bayonle is also an Investment Expert on financial instruments.

Last year, as the President of History and International Studies Students Association, Ajayi Crowther University Chapter, kick started a financial independence program ‘Making Cents with your Sense’ aimed at giving students the opportunity to financial freedom by training them on how to make money through Forex Trading, Cryptocurrency Trading, Stocks, e.t.c . He wishes to further the course of this project and get 1,000 youths trained in the next 48 months.

He reacted to this appointment by saying he is committed to improving education and overall well-being of Nigerians, noting that he has embarked on an Initiative ‘Skilled In Slum’. The 'Skilled in Slum' initiative is a program designed to improve the lives of people living in slums by providing education and skill-building opportunities to children and adults. The program aims to bring education closer to children living in slums who may not have access to formal education due to their economic or social circumstances.

In addition to providing educational opportunities, the 'Skilled in Slum' initiative also focuses on empowering adults in the slum communities by offering them skills training programs. These programs are designed to equip adults with the skills and knowledge needed to secure better-paying jobs or start their own businesses. By providing education and skills training, the 'Skilled in Slum' initiative aims to break the cycle of poverty in slum communities, increase economic opportunities, and improve the overall well-being of individuals and families living in these areas.

He further advised Nigerian youths, encouraging them to maintain their optimism for the future, as they work hard to ensure the growth and improvement of their country and the African continent as a whole. In his words , ‘’You cannot go from crawling to walking without the risk of falling down, As you pursue your goals and dreams, you should embrace the fact that failure and setbacks are a natural part of the journey towards success. Rather than being discouraged by these challenges, they should view them as opportunities for growth and learning.’’

The office of the Ecowas Youth Ambassador Des Jeunes D’Afrique De L’iquest, Cape Verde have appointed Hon.Abigi Akaaer Joshua as confirmed under the office of the ecowas youth ambassador as an Special assistant/Director of programs Benue state.

Young Hon. Abigi Akaaer Joshua hails from Guma Local Government Area of Benue State but started his career in Nasarawa state as (FCS) President 2013/2014 GSS Kekura. He hails different managerial positions before his appointment.

This award adds to the profile of the young honoree who is a recipient of several awards in the light of his active involvement in the Youth Renaissance through his works including United Nations Badges international volunteers award cross cultural and multilateral award socialization award and many more.

He is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Peace studies and conflict resolution at the National open University of Nigeria.

The Ecowas Youth Ambassador, Emmanuel Agida paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji - Bello, mni, on Friday, 20th January 2023, at her office on the 6th floor of Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

The 19-year-old youth leadership advocate and campaigner who was appointed Ambassador by the ECOWAS Youth Council in April 2022, visited the Vice Chancellor to seek support for the EYC's initiative to train One thousand students of the University in leadership Development through the National Youth Leadership Development Symposium.

The programme, he said, is part of his effort to train interested young people in the act of quality leadership and in the process, mould them into leaders capable to bring about the needed change in the nation. The programme, he said, would culminate in a National Youth Conference where participants would be given certificates of training.

Emmanuel Agida had earlier last year partnered with the University of Lagos to train 700 Student and in 2021 trained 50 young leaders whilst serving as the SA to the commissioner for Women Affairs in Osun State.The Vice Chancellor led other members of the Management and Directors at the meeting to commend Agida, for the solid presentation, and promised him that the University would give maximum support to the initiative.

She said, "I thank you for choosing to organize the leadership development program in LASU. We have over 35 Thousand students who are leaders in their right. We will support you on this project; we are investing in the new generation of leaders and this is a platform to do so." she said. Ambassador Agida, who met the Vice Chancellor in company of the President, Junior Chamber International Nigeria (JCIN) Lagos State University Chapter, Dohou Success presented an Award of Excellence to the VC and a compendium of his activities.

"Your success will be our collective success"- Adebayo Falade assures Gov. Ademola Adeleke on appointment as Media Assistant

The newly appointed Media Assistant to Gov. Ademola Adeleke, Hon. Bayo Falade has assured the Governor of his unwavering, unshaking and unflinching support toward the progress of Osun State. He made this known on a press statement made available to journalists on Friday 13th of January.

In his statement, Bayo appreciated the Executive Governor for considering him worthy to work with him as a media assistant.

Bayo also instated that serving the good people of Osun State has always been his desire and at the core of his heart.

Taking a trip to the past, the popular scripture "As a man thinks in his heart so he is." begins to make shear l sense to me. First of all, I will like to thank Almighty God for making the appointment possible as I have always acknowledged that he is my source. Regardless, God still uses men whenever he wants to do something on earth. On this note, I will like to thank his Excellency, the 6th Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for considering me worthy to work with him as his Media Assistant in creating a glorious Osun as anticipated by the good people of my dear state. Your success will be our collective success.

Corroborating my first sentence, serving Osun state has always been at the core of my heart and with this appointment, it's an avenue to make a dream come true. I am aware that my office is within the confines of media. Nevertheless, I will not withhold any idea or initiative that will help bring about the development of the state. I will discharge my duties diligently to the best of my abilities and without any prejudice.

I am aware there will be future or potential challenges where we'll be at crossroads to make vital decisions that will help move the state forward, but that's where the capacity that we've been building over time swings into action and I'm confident that with the help of God and the collaborative efforts of everyone on board, we will always overcome.

Furthermore, I will also love to show appreciation to the Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, I respect and celebrate you, sir.

On this note, I will like to emphasize that it's time for me to get to work and do away with celebrations. God bless His Excellency, God bless Osun State, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Meet Matthew Jerome Idiaghe, the dyslexic student journalist who rose beyond his physical disability, and becomes an award-winning Youth

Mathew Chimanazu Jerome Idiaghe is a final-year student of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Benin.

Mathew, a dyslexic was born with a physical disability but rose beyond his limitations, to not just become a successful student but an Aspiring award-winning Film Maker, Nollywood actor, commercial model and journalist.

Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading. Also called a reading disability, dyslexia is a result of individual differences in areas of the brain that process language. In simple terms, it is a disorder characterized by reading below the expected level for one's age. Its symptoms may include late talking and learning new words slowly.

Since there is no way to correct the underlying brain differences that cause dyslexia or a solution to this defect, Mathew decides to see the possibilities behind his inabilities and the abilities over his disabilities.

Mathew started his career in Journalism as the Edo State Correspondent to Trek Africa Magazine which also launched his foray as an Actor, and film symposium facilitator of the Mastermind initiative of Nollywood actor, Seiyefa John Emmanuel “Secret to Success”

In less than a year, Mathew has won several awards and certifications which include;
A Certificate in Cinematography from the Capacity Development and Skills Enhancement initiative(2016), an Award of Excellence from Saint Martin De Porres Catholic Youth Organisation Nafrc barrack (2012), A certificate in copywriting from the Copywriting Academy (2020), holds a Diploma in Computer Studies from Nafowa Vocational and Computer Centre, Airforce Base, Ikeja (2013), Certificate of Service by Student Union Government, University of Benin (2021). Exceptional Student of the year award by the Social Science Student Association, University of Benin (2022), GradeurAdvocate of the year Award in Learning Support Academy amongst others.

Mathew also possesses and developed special skills that made him stand out and unique. He is a Quality Control Manager at Ideal skill and talent solution film academy, and also a Researcher of Cognitive Anthropology.

Mathew has not just risen beyond his disabilities but also encourages other young people with the same challenge to rise beyond limits through his advocacy for Learning Difficulty and Transformation.

He served as the Editorial Coordinator of the FecaBenin3Library and Editoral Cordinator between 2018-2020 and currently serves as the Director of Finance, Ideal Skill Talent and Solution Film Academy, Edo State.

Mathew has not just maintained relevance in the social and academic space only but also uses his skills for the growth of his local Christian community where he emerged as assistant coordinator and coordinator of the Trem Campus Fellowship (Uniben/UBTH) chapter respectively.

There is no greater disability except that of the mind, like Mathew, set your heart to achieve your goals and vision even in the face of challenges, difficulties, and limitations, after all the I-M in IMPOSSIBLE can still be read as I’M Possible at the addition of an apostrophe in between I and M
