In a revealing public statement, Nigerian tech entrepreneur John Oseni has broken his silence on a years-long campaign of defamation and betrayal that has overshadowed his remarkable journey as a young innovator. At just 17 years old, Oseni co-founded a fintech startup, only to find himself entangled in a power struggle that led to accusations, misrepresentation, and professional setbacks. Now, he is setting the record straight. A Promising Start Turns Sour In 2022, Oseni entered a 50/50 partnership to launch a fintech startup. As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he was responsible for building the platform’s technical framework, while his partner handled financial affairs. Although the ownership structure was clearly outlined in the incorporation documents filed in Delaware, USA, a formal signed agreement was never executed—an oversight that would later be exploited. As the startup gained traction, Oseni’s partner proposed selling his 50% stake to an external investor but also insisted that Oseni’s shares be reduced, leaving both with 25% ownership each. Oseni refused, citing the violation of their original agreement, leading to a breakdown in their working relationship. A Conspiracy Unfolds Rather than resolving the matter professionally, Oseni’s former partner allegedly began working behind the scenes to oust him from the company. He enlisted the help of a trusted employee, known as CZAR, who had access to critical company systems. Together, they attempted to lock Oseni out of the company’s infrastructure. Realizing the threat, Oseni swiftly revoked their admin rights, but the dispute escalated. He was summoned by civil defense authorities in Akure, where both sides presented their cases. The resolution: Oseni would take full control of the company and repay his partner the sum of money invested in the business. An affidavit was signed to formalize this agreement. However, Oseni's former partner later reneged on the agreement, further complicating the situation. A Smear Campaign and Legal Battles Following the resolution, Oseni found himself at the center of a targeted defamation campaign. Confidential documents, including private conversations and the signed affidavit, were leaked to the public in an effort to discredit him. Misinformation was spread across social media, leading to damaging accusations, including claims of financial exploitation and intellectual property theft. Moving Forward with Integrity After three years of silence, Oseni has decided to speak out—not for revenge, but to reclaim his narrative. He has since focused on rebuilding his career, determined not to let the past define him. His statement serves as a call for young entrepreneurs to be vigilant in business dealings and to always document agreements thoroughly. “To those who stood by me, I am deeply grateful. To those who believed the lies, I hope this statement provides clarity. The truth always finds its way,” Oseni concluded. As he moves forward, Oseni remains committed to innovation, leadership, and ethical business practices, hoping that his experience serves as a lesson for others navigating the complex world of entrepreneurship.

Agriculture Is The Practice Of Growing Crops Or Raising Animals. My name is Daramola Temitope(Lucia), a 400L student of Animal Production And Health department, at LAUTECH. I had always anticipated being a Medical Lab Scientist or a Nurse but my longing was cut short when I gained admission into the university, And I Was Given Agriculture. Although, while in secondary school, I was a lover of agriculture and I was one of the best students of Agricultural sciences. This made me feel that if being a Medical Lab Scientist is not working out, being an agriculturist won’t be bad. Funny choices right? A Medical Lab Scientist and an agriculturist. Unfortunately, I had no choice than to study agricultural science course because of the unplanned conditions. But Guess what, Agriculture is the best. My first year as an agricultural science student was one new experience that I enjoyed every bit of. The exam period has been stressful though, but as a student that is what I signed up for. Our internship is fixed for the 400 level which I have always anticipated for practical works of what we have been taught in class. When the list for the first batch was dropped, I was so proud of myself for being part of the first batch. My farm experience from day one till date has been an interesting one. There was the general week before we were grouped for our Internal internship and luckily for me am being elected as the assistant group leader for my group which is group 10. I am still looking forward to my external internship. During the general week, I made new friends, and I had the opportunity to practice a few things we have learned in class. However, my first day at the farm was not an exciting one, although I learned something. I work at the Rabbitary Unit and being the assistant group leader is not that easy though because of everyone character which are not the same. But luckily for me, I get to get along fast with everyone in my groups. The general week was spent in different units for both animals and crops. At the end of the general week, I resumed farming properly. Our units were changed at the end of each week for comprehensive knowledge of each unit. Farm experience has been an intriguing one as it has been a satisfaction to some of my curiosities. Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge tonight to face Chelsea in a battle of two of the Premier League’s fallen giants. Erik ten Hag’s side sit sixth in the Premier League table ahead of visiting Mauricio Pochettino’s 11th-placed Blues, with both teams wildly inconsistent of late. United followed up on a memorable FA Cup win over Liverpool with a drab display at Brentford at the weekend, which saw them nonetheless grab what appeared to be a stoppage-time winner before quickly conceding a deserved leveller anyway. Chelsea meanwhile have not just been inconsistent from game to game, but also minute to minute. The west Londoners were lucky to hold on to a point against 10-man Burnley last time out and must now look to end a poor run of results against the Red Devils. OAU Students Arrested And Names Pubished as Criminals Without Trial: A violation of the Nigerian constitution - RICHARD SOLOMON Within the axiom of every jurisprudential framework, there are certain concepts that are vital to effective administration of justice as a whole. Referencing the popular quote - "it is better to free 99 guilty men than punish innocent person". In essence, this article seeks to drive at the principle of presumption of innocence. A succinct appraisal of the Nigerian legal system would reflect as it is effectively contained in Section 36(5) of the Nigerian Constitution. Need I say that the 1999 Constitution is the fons et origo and the grundnorm of all laws in the country. On November 1, 2023, several students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) were arrested and their names published as criminals in the media, without being proven guilty by a court of law. This is a clear violation of the Nigerian Constitution, which guarantees the right to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence. The Nigerian Constitution, in *Section 36(5)*, states clearly on presumption of innocence “*Every person who is charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed to be innocent until he is proved guilty* In the same par with the *Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 14(2)* of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights also guaranteed the right to presumption of innocence, as follows: *“Everyone charged with a criminal offence shall have the right to be presumed innocence until proved guilty according to law.* This means that a person accused of a crime is considered to be innocent until they are found guilty by a court of law. It is against the law for anyone, including the media, to publish the name of a person accused of a crime before they have been convicted. In addition, the Nigerian Constitution, in *Section 36(1),* states that: *Every person shall be entitled to fair hearing in public by a court or other tribunal established by law and constituted in such manner as to secure its independence and impartiality* This means that everyone has the right to a fair trial before an impartial court of law. This right and provision is violated when the names of people accused of crimes are published in the media before they have been convicted. For proper understanding, I would shed light through the following cases: Saraki v. Federal Republic of Nigeria (2016) - In this case, the Code of Conduct Tribunal charged the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, with false declaration of assets. The Supreme Court emphasized the presumption of innocence and stated that the prosecution must prove the guilt of the accused beyond reasonable doubt. The court held that the rights of the accused, including the presumption of innocence, should be respected. Alex Badeh v. Federal Republic of Nigeria (2018) - The Court of Appeal upheld the principle of presumption of innocence in this case. Alex Badeh, a former Chief of Defence Staff, was charged with corruption and fraudulent activities. The court held that the fundamental principle of presumption of innocence should be respected, and the prosecution failed to establish compelling evidence to prove the guilt of the accused. Mohammed Abacha & Anor v. Federal Republic of Nigeria (2014) - In this case, the Supreme Court reiterated the principle of presumption of innocence. Mohammed Abacha, the son of the late Head of State, Sani Abacha, was charged with money laundering. The court held that the presumption of innocence remains in favor of the accused until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt. The court emphasized the need for the prosecution to establish a prima facie case against the accused to justify continuation of the trial. This action by the EFCC is a clear violation of the their fundamental human rights as guaranteed which are sacred and sacrosanct and must not be trampled upon by anybody. The government must take steps to protect the rights of these students and EFCC must go through the proper procedures of making lawful arrest as provided in our laws. Conclusively, it is only proper that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission bring down every post published regarding their names and as well issue a public apology.
