Since he has fallen out of favour with the core north, he has decided to align with the south south , south east and north Central. This was the policy that Goodluck used to win in 2011.

The north despite their numbers cannot win in elections all by themselves , they need to get the support of another region. South West is out of it, so it south south because they feel the "south" must complete its 8 years. APC has to be Careful with all the Decampees coming in.
Some will come in with different Agenda.
