mailmalc: The fed civil service workers are terrible people. I don't blame them, they will play with your destiny. When I did the process 2012, it was quite frustrating, I had to resort to pulling strings with certain connections.
Don't believe the hype bro, get a skill, develop over the next few years...invest in your future that way. if you studied a professional course then look for a small private company, offer to work for free (intern).
Don't make the mistake of being too desperate, you will find your path Thank you. Am a lady, I studied physics and electronics. I've acquired a skill in bead making. But the income flow isn't consistent, cos it's not all the time I get customers. Am really in need of a job now |

Bimpe29: Staff in the office of the Commissioner in charge of your state(Ondo) are not serious. It is nothing special to obtain form for onward registration at Federal Civil Service Commission. It is one of the simplest and easiest things to do by job seekers or their proxy. However, that's not to say, one must know someone to get the job. Acquisition of the so called form does not hold water. My advice is for you to find out who is the Commissioner representing your state, or try any person who might have significant influence on how to get your dream Federal Job. Such a job is not advertised nor is it gotten on a platter of gold. One must be a prayer warrior and putting all required efforts. I wish you best of the luck. thank you. The reason am bothered about it that much is because when I told my ex boss at the place I served about my job search, the first thing he asked me was if I had opened a file with the federal civil service commission. N.B I served at a federal parastatal |

Ugogabriel: my brother I will advice contained you to stop bothering yourself with that file number, it doesn't guarantee your employment. I did that in 2013 and I had 2 file number but till today nothing good has came out from there. am now working as a state civil servant wit the legislature. if you don't know anybody you are just opening files for rats funny!@opening files for rats. Please how did you get your state govt job? Btw am not a guy, am a lady. Thanks |

JOESAJIB: Op, thank them for saving you the stress of opening file because it's not necessary. Those who get Govt jobs these days don't even go Fed civil serv comm. If you really need govt job, you need strong connection. That's all. Thanks. But even if I have someone that'll help me get a govt job, won't they ask for my file number? |

Teeworld13: lol, OP, sorry ooo, I opened a file (hard copy) with them since November 2010 after my NYSC and in 2013 i registered online. I have not been contacted by them since 2010 till date. Infact I visited the office last week thursday and most of the offices were locked. Between 2010 till date, I've been there for like 5 times without seeing the commissioner...as earlier advised, learn a skill or join any private organisation. Most importantly, pray for God's directions. All the best! Thanks for your advice. I've learnt a skill already, that's what am managing myself with right now, but it's not everytime one gets customers that needs my services. Getting a job where I'll have constant pay is what am trying to do now, I've applied at various firms too. Praying God'll pick up my call soon. |

opeyemi361: That's the new process OP, for Ondo state, you will register at Federal Civil Service Commission and they expect you to fill it online. But to be honest, the process is "Man know Man" I've checked online. There's no provision for that on their site. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: My Awful Experience With The Federal Civil Service Commission by virtousB(op): 12:06pm On Jun 08, 2016 |
umar745: This forum is now overflowing with idiots. If you can't help or give him advice why comment at all?
Anyways OP go there and try to initiate the whole process again maybe they would have changed their ways, else pick another state, I think its 3-4 state per office so you'll have to pick a state quite far from the present state you are using. you can only register with your state of origin office, that's the procedure. Each state has their respective offices in the fcsc . Am from Ondo state! |

Sorry for the long epistle in advance, but I have to write this, who knows? I might get help.. I finished my youth service July 2015. At the time I finished, I didn't know anything about registering with the civil service commission to get a file number to aid employment with the Federal government but somehow, I later got to know towards end of last year, that was around November or so. So, I went to the federal civil service commission at abuja and was directed to my state office (Ondo), on getting there, they asked to see my original credentials and I showed them all, after that they gave me a list to write my name, course of study and phone number. After that, I now asked them what is next? They said that was all.. I then told them that was not the orientation I got before coming. People that have done it in the past told me i'll be given a form to fill after which a file will be opened for me and I'll be given a file number. Immediately, they countered me, they said they no longer do such. That they've stopped the manual process that I should check their website and register there. So, I went home that day, hoping to register at their site when I get home. On getting home, I realised there was nothing like that on their site, it was more like they just deceived me. I was really pained cos I didnt have a job, had to collect tfare from my parents to go there. That one passed, some months later, my friends from other states said they registered successfully and were given file numbers, I was angry.. I decided to go back there and on getting there, I realised it's the same thing they're still doing, so I met a woman in another state and explained myself to her, she told me to submit my credentials with her that she would help me, that was early April o. I've been calling her since then to follow up, she's been telling me stories. Now, she has stopped picking her calls. Please I need help, I really need this file number cos I wish to work with the federal government and I heard its a requirement, pls what can I do? Why has our country deteriorate this much, that you need to know someone to do the simplest things. Sincerely am fed up cos am sure some other people from same state as mine that know people would have gotten their numbers by now |
