Jobs/Vacancies › My Awful Experience With The Federal Civil Service Commission by virtousB(op): 11:28pm On Jun 07, 2016 |
Sorry for the long epistle in advance, but I have to write this, who knows? I might get help.. I finished my youth service July 2015. At the time I finished, I didn't know anything about registering with the civil service commission to get a file number to aid employment with the Federal government but somehow, I later got to know towards end of last year, that was around November or so. So, I went to the federal civil service commission at abuja and was directed to my state office (Ondo), on getting there, they asked to see my original credentials and I showed them all, after that they gave me a list to write my name, course of study and phone number. After that, I now asked them what is next? They said that was all.. I then told them that was not the orientation I got before coming. People that have done it in the past told me i'll be given a form to fill after which a file will be opened for me and I'll be given a file number. Immediately, they countered me, they said they no longer do such. That they've stopped the manual process that I should check their website and register there. So, I went home that day, hoping to register at their site when I get home. On getting home, I realised there was nothing like that on their site, it was more like they just deceived me. I was really pained cos I didnt have a job, had to collect tfare from my parents to go there. That one passed, some months later, my friends from other states said they registered successfully and were given file numbers, I was angry.. I decided to go back there and on getting there, I realised it's the same thing they're still doing, so I met a woman in another state and explained myself to her, she told me to submit my credentials with her that she would help me, that was early April o. I've been calling her since then to follow up, she's been telling me stories. Now, she has stopped picking her calls. Please I need help, I really need this file number cos I wish to work with the federal government and I heard its a requirement, pls what can I do? Why has our country deteriorate this much, that you need to know someone to do the simplest things. Sincerely am fed up cos am sure some other people from same state as mine that know people would have gotten their numbers by now |

Ifeshyne: I experienced the same issue and I used an app called 'reduce photo size' which I downloaded from Google play store. Make sure you select the smallest resolution when reducing, I hope this helps! I've downloaded that particular app. But didnt see where I could enter the required dimensions i.e height 45mm, width 35mm |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: I Got A Better Job Through Nairaland. by virtousB: 11:11am On May 10, 2016 |
ojadetayo: One of the best forums to be part of is the Nairaland forum. I joined this forum last year and I have never regretted doing so. Earlier in January, I saw this advert placement on the Job's section and I didn't think twice before I submitted my CV there. I waited for their call but didn't get any so I relaxed my mind. Countdown to April 12th, I got a message inviting me for a test at their office. We were like too many that did the test. After series of tests, three people were eventually recruited and I'm happy I'm one of them. The pay is good way better than what I was earning before. I am a testimony to the good things happening on this forum. Advice: Don't play with whatever you see on this forum, it may be the key that open doors. I pray that everyone who is also looking for a better offer will get it in Jesus name. Thank you Nairaland. congrats dear. Pls did you apply in person or you submitted your cv online? |

SlimBrawnie: A law firm I had forgotten I applied called me about a week later inviting me for an interview on 23rd April... While preparing for this interview, I missed several calls from a number on the 21st April because I was in church, then later received a message from this first company I had an interview with, congratulating me on the the success of my interview and requesting I report at their Gwarimpa office on the 22nd, I felt reluctant, maybe because of the law firm interview... Called my dad,he asked me to go for both and select the one that is favourable... I initially didn't want to,but my bestie forced me to,and in fact came to pick me himself...it was difficult locating their office(remember the interview was at Chilli's). At a point I gave up and wanted going home but my friend insisted, made calls to the person that sent me the text and at the end,we located the place.. I waited for the MD,at a point I got tired and said to myself that once it is 11am I will leave, but as God will have it,3mins to 11am,he walked in and after all said and said,he said they will be starting me up with the salary I told them during the interview as "probation salary" and as time goes on, it would be increased. I felt cool... And was already making up my mind to go for this one especially as its close to my place.... The company really disguised itself maybe that's why I wasnt so keen about working there initially.
To cut the long story, I went for the law firm interview at zone5 the following day ...very far...at a residential area...the man offer same thing with the gwarimpa company... I told him I can't,cos I have to put some things into consideration.. I left there knowing I won't work there cos of the salary and thanking God I got another to rely on.
God really favoured me cos barely a month after I stopped working in my former organisation (1st April), I got another(25th April)...
I just want to encourage others out there never to look down on any organization just like I did...that's why I'd always be grateful to my bestie cos if not for him... I had given up.
Loving my new job. congrats dear. God that did it for you will perfect mine too. I tap into your testimony! Pls how did you answer the number 17 question? And pls how did you apply for the job? |
