spyder880: Oga Hajj, we no get money for gadgets oMy friend's borehole was rendered unusable because her submersible got damaged and upon that they could not retrieve it because something went wrong with the rope holding it down there. I believe building a 2'x2' square block wall round the mouth and constructing a thick metal door on top with lock is a better solution for all times. Just thinking about the safety of the rope. |
Congratulations. I will be following closely. |
@Ekoibile, your comments sounded combative even though some of the lines made sense. Some times It’s good to tone down a bit so that your message is not misunderstood. I guess our brother Spyder threw open this matter voluntarily and not that he was under the pressure of someone. So let peace reign. @Spyder, am quite confident your team can find a lasting solution to the cracks. But Just like @True2Home requested, the details of the cracks could be important for professionals like them to make informed comments. I agree with him that if the cracks were localized that it might not be a big problem. Do we know if there are cracks else where? Concerning the sanitary pit in this house. I read something like that when I was still a guest. I can’t remember if it was in this very particular thread or another. What am sure is that I saw an already constructed pit which you complained had underground water seepage. I can’t remember…. but I know for a certain that the very picture was before the data loss. In that thread, you thought about digging another one. So my brother, if this is the particular pit we are talking about and with what am seeing now, I support you close it! I am not a builder oh, but my little knowledge tells me that a pit that is leaking water and fortified with all round blocks can cave in. That is after the blocks might have been weakened by water. It is quite different from those pits whose walls were cast with concrete and can hold the surrounding soil with guarantee. Biko, you have built a professional reputation and you have it here to save. On a lighter note, who owns those two single room buildings (the two last pictures)....I hope it's not my brother that built them oh ![]() |
This is not looking good. But, bros Spyder, i think the best thing is to arrest these cracks immediately to avoid further widening of the gap. Am sure you have the know how to do it. You are really courageous to show this type of fault. It's very good of you. But now that people are watching is also the best time to reboost their confidence by fixing it quickly. make sure u be there yourself. Sorry my brother, I'm really touched. |
ZACHIE: This is misinforming.Looking forward to see how you will spin the truth because Okra or Okwuru is etymologically exclusive to the Igbo in origin and it's not disputable. All dictionaries around the word give the credit to Igbo. Tango may be true of Ibibio. Until now Juju is what i thought was of Yoruba origin. ISUSU is strictly the Igbo ancient banking style brought to the Americas by Igbo slaves and renamed SUSU, undisputable. |
NL1960: Thank you my sister. Before i started my project, i did a deep study to know how the farmers in my village who do not make much money were able to build their houses. As i said finishing chops money and these farmers are not crazy about finishing. As i also mentioned in my post, they will not buy stand in tipper. Boys in the village will give them any quantity of erosion sand that they want. They will not buy wood from sawmill. They will just call a wood man to come and bring down a tree causing problems on their farmlands and they will use the wood. They try as much as possible to eliminate middle men.Ever since reading Chief Okoya Thomas' humble approach to solving business matters, i've always tried to approach business matters in the same manner. I was surprised when in an interview the multi billionaire revealed how he jettisoned big contractors and started using direct labor to execute his buildings in the real estate sector. Since then, i have always said to myself if a big man like that could think in that way why won't i do same. And here you are not far away from that line of thought. The way you're managing that 20K is so striking ![]() |
2sExy1: lol... but I don't understand what you mean by the emboldened. how many rooms would the said/proposed bungalow contain and is the 1.2 million the budgeted amount for this project? waiting...What NL1960 meant is that the man has moulded blocks worth 50 bags of cement. 50 bags of cement can mould 2000 very solid blocks, well enough to finish off a big 3 bedroom bungalow. I'm currently doing something like that and i've already gotten 3000 blocks. Look, my brother, part of successfully rounding off a house of any size depends largely on your body language to the men on the ground. If you present yourself to them as one of them, they'll treat you as such and you'll know more. But if you come as a 'big boy or big girl", they will treat you accordingly. My hand bag is tightly tucked in my armpit and we melt up together. Nuff said. |
ekoibile: Oloye, this your simple and humble question has stood long unanswered, and don't ask me why oh@the bolded is what you would have gone straight to say and you would have been a gentle man instead of all the side talks. |
spyder880: Work is in progress.Attacking from different fronts. God will continue to bless your hands as long as na ikwubara akagi otor. |
This project is worth considering, the renting is progressing. Though the remodelling expenses may eat deep into the owners initial returns but she/he will make it up in the subsequent years. Looking forward to seeing the end result of the modification. |
A lot of people including me love this cute house and are waiting curiously. When is the house going to have the updates, Sir? |
Not much is happening here of late. I believe you have sorted out the outstanding issues on the roofing. Please update your people oh. |
Bros. Spyder, finishings dey shop money oh! But the owner of dis house is lucky to have someone like you to give him value for his money. Beautiful job in all. |
PenSoftCorp: guys, i am tired of guys giving girls good complement only, even though they may be lying for example you hear a guy tell a girl these:It is because the average guy understands that the average lady is mostly preoccupied with what guys think about her looks, and so they latch on the positive compliments to have their way. |
It is simply the lack of education and the stigma associated with the EVD, if not why would any suspected person be running away from being quarantined. On the other hand, the suspects should also consider the safety of their loved ones at home. State governments should also improve on the condition of these quarantine centers to make it comfortable enough for the people to spend the three weeks there. |
spyder880: 1. Igwe Edward NnajiUmu nnem, this list is to say the least very clannish....too villagish. It is a list like this that enboldens ndi Yoruba to attempt to erase our own contributions na nnukwu obodo Nigeria bu Lagos. Enugu is not Awka, Owerri, Abakaliki or Umuahia. It has a history of metropolitan development spanning over 100 years. This city is to Eastern Nigerians what lagos is to Nigerians. Even the late Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Azikiwe who spent five years as the premier of Eastern region was not deemed a giant enough to be listed. What about Alhaji Altine who was a two time mayor of the city? Ekene kwamu'nu. Udo diri unu. |
Our Oga has the capability to mould beautiful structures with all levels of budget. carry go my brother. God is with you. |
Our Oga Spyder is really transforming here oh. I dream that very soon I will open up talks with you. Well done brother. |
wealthinfos: As i ponder on my bed, on the statement 'Behind every succesful man, there's a woman', i began to ask, is there any connection between women and success to a man?The connection between women and success to a man manifests when the two happens to be the right chemistry. When there is a profound understanding of common destiny with the concormittant synergy. Otherwise the reverse is the case. |
spyder880: UpdatesThank you for your great works. You're a great man, my brother. |
Onuokwu: You are welcome back o! Don't go mising again. Keep contributing. My brother sorry o. It's just time factor. I'll keep contributing as much as i can and as much as time permits. But I will always say the truth o ![]() |
I've been missing in action since my last outing here oh. It's great to see this structure finally taken to this level by the big boss Spyder. May God continue to guide you and provide for your family. |
Our holy father is a great man. May God give him the strength to bear the terrible loss. RIP to the dead. |
This is unintentional incest of which the shock will live with both of them for the rest of their lives. They just have to find a way out it and go their separate ways but it's just difficult. Ummmmm....let God take control. Too bad an experience. |
princeonxI can't imagine a better way to identify a product of room-mate than from your opinions so far. Your 419 epistles were largely ignored, met with measured, selected and bolded responses by the wisemen. They're not values to be cherished....only if u got my drift. I trust the men here. That's why i personally wrote and begged my brother Fhemmmy, Mufutau and a few others to spare some minutes of their tight schedule on the property section to deter vultures like you. Happily, they re-engaged for the benefit of the masses of Nigeria. Good evening. |
princeonx: For real? Your husband built a two bedroom for less than Spyder's budgeted N2.5m? Yet you call me wicked for voicing my opinion of a 3 bedrooms instead of 2 bedrooms? Why not go and build a two bedrooms in the middle of Atlantic Ocean since you don't see a 2 bedrooms project on a waterlogged land stressful? I personally view/see a 2 bedrooms builder as someone working on a low budget and it won't hurt getting a 3 bedroom for a little more than a 2 bedrooms! Do you know that if planed well and little adjustment that the said budget for 2 bedrooms can also build a 3 bedrooms? You're very lucky am in good spirit! On a bad day, I'll simply ask you to hug a moving truck for calling me evil/wicked or better still quench your blood thirst with cold Pepsi mixed with otapiapia. You've been on NL berely 2 weeks and you already started running that $hit you call mouth! Smh!Yes for real. Princeonx, N2.35M with basic finishing! It even has a 6ftx7ft storage close to the kitchen. Well, I don't have to be 1 million years in Nairaland before i stand up to a dubious mind who talks down on peoples sweat. There are people who indulge in different shady deals and there are also those who follow the 9 to 5 and other legitimate means to earn a living. Respect them! You seem to be one of those who incite contractors to steal even as your comments here are typical of a "blood thirsty" kidnapper or armed robber or his associate who took little notice of his spending. If anyone has to follow your skewed thinking, a 3 bedroom will as well not be sufficient because "if planned well with a little adjustment", such budget would equally build a 4 bedroom and so on till infinity. Oh yes! But it never occured to you that owners of projects would also have to "adjust" their pockets as well. What about those who can't afford to "adjust"? Btw, the Atlantic Ocean that I know is -/+ 35km from my abode, not in Enugu. Stop being silly. I have to go to my shop please. Excuse me. |
princeonx: Chairman Spyder, is the N2.5m estimated budget with a raft foundation in mind? Why 2 bedrooms though? Why didn't your client add just one more room to make it a (full basic house) 3 bedrooms at least? I am not a big fan of 2 bedrooms houses especially as the main project! BQ? yes! princeonx: Ok! I just don't know why I feel its hassle or punishment going through all this to build such a small house. Personally I might for a bigger house but for a two bedrooms? I don't think so!Your feeling, i am sorry, has given you out as a very wicked fellow. Since when did it become a "punishment" for the Nigerian builder to build a 2 bedroom Bungalow? This is new to me oh! Nairaland property section is filled with 2 Bedroom bungalows for sale and with builders bidding to build for people. Even the last time i checked, the federal government is rolling out mortgage financing for thousands of 2 and 3 bedroom Bungalows. I doubt you sleep and wake up from naija. If u do, you would have known that majority of Nigerians cannot afford a self-contain let alone a 2 bedroom flat. It's even worse in Rivers state here. I know how difficult it was for my husband to save to be able to build a 2 bedroom bungalow for his old mum at Ndoni, and even at a budget less than what oga Spyder is building for his client. This is not too long ago. Something sinister....I'm out of here. Na wa o. |
spyder880: The clouds are still gathering for another rain today.Bros Spyder I admire your determination. Please keep doing the good job. This is a unique territory in Enugu. If the owner of this project is not going to live here, won't it be better u suggest to him/her a commercial borehole? Not only that the drilling here would be successful, it's gonna have the proximity advantage over the 9th mile for the tankers. Water is still a big business in Enugu and you're sitting on a very active acquifer here, it seems. I wish my land at Amorji was like that my brother. Have a nice day. |
Methinks this is what the owner wanted. That being so has put our bros Spyder in a difficult position, arguing from a weak position. It is not so good in that people of all backgrounds, and from different parts of the world are reading and following. Safety is an on going issue in building construction in Nigeria and people are concerned in situations like this one. I hope the owner will review the situation. |
Fhemmmy: I am super humbled to know my contribution was noticed . . . I am very much around but i dont wanna be saying much on the thread cos Oga spyder wont be happy with some of my commentBig bros, who wouldn't notice your powerful blue color?Lol. Please keep engaged o, and in every thread. I'm sure oga Spyder is someone that is receptive to constructive criticism as well. If not, what is the essence of here? I must also say that I appreciate some other contributors like Alhaji Mufutau, NL1960, and some other gentlemen that are not too regular like Onuokwu, Peoplesarmy, Costadinis etc. You're all great guys. I must retire in my kitchen now. Thanks |
The best virtue is to be comfortable with yourself, be able to express your inner feelings. ladies, come on, be yourselfs |

So i just come around and look and run off.
