It means you use a device that can capture your image. For computer systems it is called webcam on phones it is called front camera. You can use a phone but be sure your network is good and calls won't interfere.

Please I have problem with passport uploading, it's saying JPEG only and the picture I want to use is JPEG, what could be the problem.

I think it is legit.The company's name is verifiable as well as the address. My thoughts though.
