Why Pakistan announced it backs Iran ? A surprising statement came from the Pakistani Defense Minister, who declared that nuclear-armed Pakistan backs Iran “with all the strength it has” Surprising, because Iran and Pakistan have their differences, mainly in the Baloch border region, with each side accusing the other of harboring militants hostile to the other. It’s also surprising because Pakistan’s ruling junta is secular and typically aligned with Western interests. However, when you step back and view the broader geopolitical picture, it becomes clear why Pakistan has chosen to side with Iran. A U.S. Secretary of State with a cross on his forehead, and a Secretary of Defense with “kafir” inked on his arm American administration doesn’t care much for seculars in Muslim-majority countries. To them, they are all the same. Meanwhile, hostile-to-Muslims India under Modi openly backs Israel, even sending thousands of Indians to fight in Gaza. The Indian flag has been spotted there multiple times. In return, Israel backs India with arms, intelligence, espionage, and political support. But Why Pakistan announced it backs Iran ? The ruling class in Pakistan knows that Pakistan is next and instead of using Israel, they will use India with unlimited western support. Not because Pakistan’s ruling class isn’t secular enough, but because it is a majority-Muslim country, and no Muslim-majority country, even if ruled by a secular elite, is ever fully trusted by the West. Regimes can fall, and a conservative movement could rise to power in Pakistan. Then, suddenly, a Muslim Pakistan that cares about Muslim causes would possess nuclear deterrence.
